Western Reserve Fire District receives new truck

Yahoo02-03-2025

POLAND, Ohio (WKBN) — The Western Reserve Joint Fire District received a new set of wheels on Saturday.
According to a Facebook post from the group, the fire truck took three years to build and replaces a 1997 Sutphen engine.
The new fire truck is a 2025 Sutphen Pumper. It pumps 1,500 gallons of water per minute and carries 1,000 gallons of water.
The post said the purchase could not have been made without the 'generosity and financial support' of the community.
The department will spend the coming week getting the engine in service.

Nissan Motor Acceptance Company Submits Application to Form Nissan Bank U.S., LLC

FRANKLIN, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nissan Motor Acceptance Company (NMAC), the financial services arm of Nissan North America, has submitted an application to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) and the Utah Department of Financial Institutions to form Nissan Bank U.S., LLC, an industrial bank headquartered in Salt Lake City, Utah. The proposed Bank will focus on commercial financing for dealerships—enhancing the services currently provided by NMAC while enabling greater efficiency, competitive rates, and a deeper ability to serve Nissan, INFINITI, and non-Nissan dealerships across the United States. In addition to operational efficiencies, the Bank is intended to strengthen support for independent, locally owned dealerships—many of which serve as vital small businesses in communities across the country. 'For over 40 years, NMAC has supported our dealer network with stable, relationship-driven financing,' said Kevin Cullum, president of NMAC. 'Forming Nissan Bank U.S. gives us greater flexibility to serve dealers more efficiently and competitively—so they can better serve their customers. It also deepens our support for locally owned dealerships, many of which are small businesses that anchor their communities. From small towns to major markets, this Bank will help dealers access the tools they need to grow—while reinforcing our long-term investment in the U.S. market.' The Bank will leverage NMAC's commercial lending expertise and long-standing relationships with more than 1,200 dealerships. Its charter would allow for more flexible and cost-effective financing options, empowering dealers to better serve their customers. In addition, the Bank intends to uphold Nissan's strong legacy of community investment by supporting financial literacy, affordable housing, and economic development initiatives in Utah and beyond. Consumer auto loans will continue to be offered directly by NMAC. The formation of the Bank is subject to regulatory approval. Nissan worked closely with their advisors, Klaros Group, and counsel, Covington and Burling, in preparing the application. A Third, Larger Tesla Model Y Variant Could Debut This Year

We've been waiting a long time for more affordable Teslas, but it seems that the automaker is now looking in the opposite direction. The low-cost Model Y has been delayed, but according to a post on X, Tesla may be on the verge of launching a new variant with more luxurious seating for adults. According to the tweet posted by hacking engineer @greentheonly, a six-seater Model Y has been revealed in firmware, and the code hints that it may be offered globally, not just in China. The Model Y's 2025.20 update references the six-seater, and with Chinese buyers prioritizing rear legroom, it's no wonder that rumors of such a vehicle have been circulating for a while. Since the code was found in a domestic Model Y, it may not be exclusive to China, so if it comes here, what can we expect? The prevalent theory is that the wheelbase will be extended to accommodate captain's chairs in the middle row, and possibly by as much as 5.9 inches. As Not A Tesla App points out, a 2+2+2 layout would not only be logical, but would also provide reasonable room in the third row. Since the Model X doesn't get armrests with its six-seater configuration, it's unlikely that the cheaper Model Y will, although the option will add thousands to the $46,000 base price. The 2+2+2 layout would allow Tesla to fit a center console in the second row, which should further enhance the feeling of luxury, but will buyers be willing to shell out extra for a car that looks almost identical from the outside? That remains to be seen, but Tesla may begin to border on oversaturation of the model if there aren't enough differences. A seven-seater Model Y is also on the way with an almost useless third row (at least for the average adult), and one can't help but wonder if these new seating layouts are a lackluster attempt at boosting sales of a car that was once the best-selling on the planet but is now seeing a decline in popularity. Until we see the new Model Y variants later this year (assuming the self-imposed timeline is adhered to), we can't pass fair judgment.
