Ontario Provincial Police display drugs, ammunition, and cash seized during search warrants executed on Wed., June 18, 2025, in Midland and Penetanguishene. A Penetanguishene man is facing a series of drug trafficking charges after provincial police executed simultaneous search warrants at a residence and retail store on Wednesday morning. Officers with the OPP street crime units from several detachments, plus the tactical, rescue and K9 units, carried out the search warrants at locations on Gignac Drive in Penetanguishene and Midland Avenue in Midland. Officers took the accused into custody and say they seized a significant amount of crystal methamphetamine, cocaine, crack cocaine, codeine pills, morphine pills, oxycodone pills, and lorazepam pills. Ontario police say the searches also resulted in the seizure of brass knuckles, 100 rounds of 9mm ammunition, roughly $47,000 in Canadian cash, and drug paraphernalia. Along with drug-related charges, the accused is also facing possession of proceeds obtained by crime over $5,000, possession of prohibited ammunition contrary to a prohibition order, unauthorized possession of a weapon, and failing to comply with a probation order. Police say the investigation isn't over. They are asking anyone with knowledge that could assist with the case to contact the OPP.

Officers executed a search warrant at a Charlottetown residence around 10 p.m. on Thursday, according to a police news release. Colton Bernard of Sussex, N.B., was charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking in Saint John Provincial Court on Friday. He was remanded into custody and will appear in court again on June 26. On Thursday, RCMP searched a residence on George Street in Sussex and arrested Bernard without incident, said a news release. During the search, police recovered quantities of what are believed to be crystal meth, ICE pills and cocaine. A 65-year-old man is facing charges after Guelph Police received complaints about possible drug trafficking at a residential complex for seniors. Officers executed a search warrant Wednesday morning in the city's north end. Police said they found about $18,000 worth of suspected fentanyl and crystal methamphetamine, three replica guns, drug packaging and more than $1,200 in cash. A Guelph man has been charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and breaching a probation order. 'We are committed to ensuring the safety of our citizens and will not allow the trafficking of these illegal substances to be normalized,' Police Chief Gord Cobey said in a media release. 'We will be relentless in our efforts to hold accountable those who seek to profit from these dangerous drugs.'

Impaired driving arrest leads to drug trafficking charges

Windsor police say a man is facing drug trafficking and impaired driving charges after officers found him asleep behind the wheel of a vehicle. The incident happened just after 7 p.m. on June 8 in the 200 block of Watson Avenue. Police were called to the scene to check on the wellbeing of the driver after someone reported the vehicle had been idling for over two hours. Police say when they arrived, they saw the driver slumped over at the wheel and noticed a plastic bag containing a suspected illicit drug in the driver's lap. A search of the vehicle then yielded various amounts of crystal methamphetamine, cocaine, oxycodone, a cellphone, two digital scales, and drug packaging materials, according to Windsor police.
