A Penetanguishene man is facing a series of drug trafficking charges after provincial police executed simultaneous search warrants at a residence and retail store on Wednesday morning.
Officers with the OPP street crime units from several detachments, plus the tactical, rescue and K9 units, carried out the search warrants at locations on Gignac Drive in Penetanguishene and Midland Avenue in Midland. Officers took the accused into custody and say they seized a significant amount of crystal methamphetamine, cocaine, crack cocaine, codeine pills, morphine pills, oxycodone pills, and lorazepam pills.
Ontario police say the searches also resulted in the seizure of brass knuckles, 100 rounds of 9mm ammunition, roughly $47,000 in Canadian cash, and drug paraphernalia.
Along with drug-related charges, the accused is also facing possession of proceeds obtained by crime over $5,000, possession of prohibited ammunition contrary to a prohibition order, unauthorized possession of a weapon, and failing to comply with a probation order.
Police say the investigation isn't over. They are asking anyone with knowledge that could assist with the case to contact the OPP.
