Man charged following drug trafficking investigation in Sussex, N.B.

A 24-year-old man from Sussex, N.B. was charged following a drug trafficking investigation.
Colton Bernard of Sussex, N.B., was charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking in Saint John Provincial Court on Friday. He was remanded into custody and will appear in court again on June 26.
On Thursday, RCMP searched a residence on George Street in Sussex and arrested Bernard without incident, said a news release.
During the search, police recovered quantities of what are believed to be crystal meth, ICE pills and cocaine. Police also seized:
various prescription pills
drug paraphernalia
four cell phones
a rifle
ammunition
New Brunswick RCMP began the drug trafficking investigation in Sussex in April, said the release.
The investigation is ongoing.

Toronto police responded to Danforth Road and Eglinton Avenue just before 1 a.m. for reports of several gunshots in the area. When they arrived, officers later confirmed a shooting had taken place. It's unclear what led up to the incident but police say a male victim was later located in hospital with a gunshot wound. It's alleged that two suspects were seen fleeing the scene, however, police did not provide a description. The investigation is ongoing and officials are asking anyone with information to come forward.
