Billie Eilish Reaches A Major Chart Milestone For Only The Second Time

Hit Me Hard and Soft, Billie Eilish's latest full-length, debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 in mid-2024. As it arrived, it became her first project to miss reaching the summit on the competitive albums tally. In the year-plus since its release, the collection has remained one of the most popular in the United States, and it has now produced Eilish's two longest-running successes on the Hot 100 — both of which are still charting to this day. "Wildflower," the latest – and likely last – single from Hit Me Hard and Soft, has now spent 52 weeks on the Hot 100. As of this frame, it becomes Eilish's second track to spend a full year on the ranking of the most consumed songs in the U.S. At the moment, "Wildflower" sits at No. 44 on the Hot 100, up four spots from last week. The tune is likely to disappear from the ranking in just a few days when Billboard refreshes its charts. Once a title hits its one-year anniversary on the list, it must place above No. 25 to remain, otherwise it is typically removed for good. Unless "Wildflower" manages a massive boom, it will vanish from the Hot 100. However, it will likely continue to appear on various genre-specific rankings for weeks or even months to come. "Wildflower" joins "Birds of a Feather" as Eilish's only year-long charters on the Hot 100. Amazingly, "Birds of a Feather" is still present inside the top 20 on the tally as it reaches its fifty-sixth week on the list. Like Hit Me Hard and Soft, "Birds of a Feather" missed out on reaching No. 1 by just one spot, peaking in the runner-up position on the Hot 100. "Wildflower," on the other hand, never even managed to crack the top 10. The tune debuted at No. 17 in June 2024 and never climbed higher during the year it spent on the roster. For half a decade, "Bad Guy" ranked as Eilish's most successful track on the Hot 100. It remains her only No. 1 hit, but it no longer claims the title of her longest-charting success. That honor shifted to 'Birds of a Feather' almost two months ago. "Bad Guy" stayed on the tally for 49 weeks beginning in 2019. While "Wildflower" is likely about to depart the Hot 100, it remains in the top 10 on five of Billboard's genre-specific rankings. It continues to be a major smash in the rock and alternative arenas, particularly via streaming platforms.

Addison Rae's Debut Album Misses No. 1 By Just One Space

Addison Rae debuts at No. 2 on the Official Albums chart in the U.K. with her first full-length ... More release Addison, which also lands inside the top five on other tallies. NEW YORK, NEW YORK - OCTOBER 28: Addison Rae attends the 2024 CFDA Awards at American Museum of Natural History on October 28, 2024 in New York City. (Photo by) When TikTok superstar Addison Rae first began releasing music several years ago, her handful of tunes didn't make much of a commercial impact. Few took the social media powerhouse seriously, but she didn't quit. For months now, the celebrity has been promoting her album Addison, her first full-length, with a slew of singles. The self-titled project debuts on charts all around the world this week, and as it arrives, it's clear there was significant demand for new music from her, as the title earns a lofty starting point — especially on the charts in the United Kingdom. Addison launches on half a dozen albums rankings in the U.K. this week, opening inside the top five on all but one of them. It performed surprisingly well when it comes to both streaming activity and pure purchases. In every instance, Rae scores her first appearance on the albums lists, as Addison marks her first proper musical release – and she hits big on her first try. Addison launches highest on the Official Albums chart, the main ranking of the most consumed projects in the country. On that tally, the pop set kicks off its time at No. 2. Rae is beaten to the top only by British band Pulp, which scores a new No. 1 with the simply-named More. Rae's self-titled full-length opens in third place on three other rankings in the U.K.: the Official Albums Sales, Official Physical Albums, and Official Vinyl Albums charts. Addison is also new to the Official Albums Streaming ranking at No. 4, as it begins its time inside the top 10 on almost every list it reaches this frame. Addison only fails to begin its time inside the top 10 on one of the half-dozen tallies on which it debuts this week, as the set launches at No. 20 on the Official Album Downloads chart. It seems that while Addison sold well enough to become a top five win across a number of rosters, it didn't perform quite well enough on platforms like iTunes and other download storefronts to rank among the 10 bestselling. Four songs from Addison are charting in the U.K. at the moment. Current single "Fame Is a Gun" rises on both tallies on which it debuted just last week, reaching new high points as it ascends. Meanwhile, album cut "New York" opens at No. 61 on the Official Singles chart, landing not far behind previous focus track "Headphones" at No. 44.

Taylor Swift's First Grammy-Winning Album Reaches A New Lifetime Peak

This week in the United Kingdom, a dozen of Taylor Swift's albums appear on various charts. Some show up on just one ranking, while others land on as many as six. Many of her earliest projects return to several lists after fans deemed it acceptable once again to buy and stream releases that, until recently, financially benefited people other than the singer-songwriter herself. Now that Swift owns the rights to her own work, interest in those albums has surged. Some of those past efforts, which had been largely passed over for years, are now being thrust back into the spotlight. One of Swift's earliest full-lengths doesn't just return — it sells better than ever, as it climbs higher than it ever has on one important tally. Fearless reappears on three different rankings in the U.K. this week. The set is once again a powerful seller, and it manages to reach a new peak on the Official Albums Sales chart as it blasts back in. The early career project reenters that tally at No. 65, which marks its best showing ever. Fearless only arrived on the Official Albums Sales chart a little less than a year ago. The set debuted on the general ranking of the bestselling titles in the U.K. in late August 2024, when it opened at No. 82. This week marks just its second stint on this particular list. Beyond the Official Albums Sales chart, Fearless also breaks back onto both the Official Physical Albums and Official Country Artists Albums rankings. It lands at No. 66 on the former — just one spot beneath where it appears on the all-encompassing sales tally — while it rockets to No. 3 on the country-only roster. Swift released Fearless in November 2008, and the project proved she was not a one-hit wonder, catapulting her to greater heights than her self-titled debut. The full-length produced some of the biggest hits in country-pop history, including "Love Story" and "You Belong With Me." Fearless earned Swift her first several Grammy Awards. She collected Best Country Album, Best Country Song, Best Female Country Vocal Performance, and, notably, Album of the Year — and at that point, she became one of the youngest people to ever claim the top prize.

Creed's Massive Single Returns — And Becomes A Surprise Dance Win In The Process

The song 'One Last Breath' helped Creed rise to the next level decades ago, when it first became a worldwide hit. Many years later, the track remains one of the rock band's most familiar, and these days, it seems like it may have even outpaced every other entry in its discography as perhaps its most successful — or at least its longest-charting. The tune returns to multiple Billboard charts this week and also debuts on several other rankings that Creed is largely unfamiliar with in another form, thanks to an inventive reworking. 'One Last Breath' currently appears on a trio of Billboard charts in the United States, after living on just one of them a few days ago, as it has become both a top streamer and a bestseller once more. Creed's cut breaks back into the top 10 on the Hard Rock Digital Song Sales chart, reentering at No. 9. At the same time, it lands in last place on the Alternative Streaming Songs chart, at No. 25, after not quite performing well enough just a few days ago to appear on Billboard's ranking of the most played alternative cuts on platforms like Spotify and Apple Music. The same Creed smash can also be found once again on the Hard Rock Streaming Songs chart. In that case, it doesn't need to return. Instead, it almost recaptures the throne, pushing from No. 6 to No. 2 and coming within striking distance of the top spot, where it has already spent some time. 'One Last Breath' may be surging in popularity again thanks to a remix — or perhaps it's a cover — that has become a hit on some Billboard lists that are largely foreign to Creed. The production act ATLiens debuts its remix of 'One Last Breath' on both the Dance Digital Song Sales and Hot Dance/Electronic Songs charts this week. The tune, which doesn't actually credit Creed at all, is essentially just a dancified reworking of the early rock win. The inventive tune opens in the runner-up space on the purchase-only tally, behind 'Abracadabra' by Lady Gaga, which surges back to No. 1. At the same time, it starts at No. 17 on the all-encompassing list of the most consumed dance and electronic tracks throughout the U.S.

Rihanna's Classics Return As Her New Single Vanishes Almost Immediately

Last week, the world was treated to a new song by Rihanna, which is a fairly rare occurrence these days. The singer is otherwise preoccupied with being a mother and running her massively successful cosmetics brand, Fenty Beauty, but she does deliver a track or two here and there, and they are usually associated with film projects. "Friend of Mine" is set to be featured in the upcoming animated Smurfs film, which is expected later this summer. While there was plenty of excitement when the tune was announced, it didn't prove to be a massive commercial success. Just days after its debut, the cut has already faded, while several of Rihanna's time-tested smashes are back. Two of Rihanna's most popular songs reappear on the Official Hip-Hop and R&B Singles chart this week. The pair rebounds together and sit side-by-side, as "Don't Stop the Music" reenters the list of the bestselling tracks in those genres at No. 36, while "Love the Way You Lie," one of her collaborations with Eminem, is back at No. 37. "Don't Stop the Music" and "Love the Way You Lie" rank among Rihanna's 14 No. 1s on the Official Hip-Hop and R&B Singles chart. Nearly half of the 33 tracks she's pushed into the top 10 on the genre-only tally have spent time in the highest spot, and most have racked up more than one frame on the throne. Rihanna currently fills three spaces on the 40-rung roster. "Stay," her collaboration with Mikky Ekko and a former runner-up, dips from No. 24 to No. 27, and is joined this frame by both 'Don't Stop the Music' and 'Love the Way You Lie.' "Friend of Mine" didn't reach the Official Hip-Hop and R&B Singles chart, as it was classified under a different genre by the Official Charts Company. Instead, it launched at No. 19 on the Official Dance Singles chart — but it can no longer be found on that ranking. In fact, even though "Friend of Mine" opened on four song rosters across the U.K. just days ago, it now appears on none of them. The tune started at No. 72 on the Official Singles chart, No. 75 on the Official Singles Downloads list, and No. 79 on the Official Singles Sales ranking. It only managed one frame on each tally, at least so far. That's quite a stark contrast when compared to tracks like "Stay" and "Love the Way You Lie," which have both racked up more than 100 weeks on the Official Hip-Hop and R&B Singles chart.
