When TikTok superstar Addison Rae first began releasing music several years ago, her handful of tunes didn't make much of a commercial impact. Few took the social media powerhouse seriously, but she didn't quit. For months now, the celebrity has been promoting her album Addison, her first full-length, with a slew of singles. The self-titled project debuts on charts all around the world this week, and as it arrives, it's clear there was significant demand for new music from her, as the title earns a lofty starting point — especially on the charts in the United Kingdom.
Addison launches on half a dozen albums rankings in the U.K. this week, opening inside the top five on all but one of them. It performed surprisingly well when it comes to both streaming activity and pure purchases. In every instance, Rae scores her first appearance on the albums lists, as Addison marks her first proper musical release – and she hits big on her first try.
Addison launches highest on the Official Albums chart, the main ranking of the most consumed projects in the country. On that tally, the pop set kicks off its time at No. 2. Rae is beaten to the top only by British band Pulp, which scores a new No. 1 with the simply-named More.
Rae's self-titled full-length opens in third place on three other rankings in the U.K.: the Official Albums Sales, Official Physical Albums, and Official Vinyl Albums charts. Addison is also new to the Official Albums Streaming ranking at No. 4, as it begins its time inside the top 10 on almost every list it reaches this frame.
Addison only fails to begin its time inside the top 10 on one of the half-dozen tallies on which it debuts this week, as the set launches at No. 20 on the Official Album Downloads chart. It seems that while Addison sold well enough to become a top five win across a number of rosters, it didn't perform quite well enough on platforms like iTunes and other download storefronts to rank among the 10 bestselling.
Four songs from Addison are charting in the U.K. at the moment. Current single "Fame Is a Gun" rises on both tallies on which it debuted just last week, reaching new high points as it ascends. Meanwhile, album cut "New York" opens at No. 61 on the Official Singles chart, landing not far behind previous focus track "Headphones" at No. 44.

Jon Bernthal Joins Tom Holland in ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day'

Jon Bernthal has appeared in several Marvel television series as the stone-cold vigilante known as the Punisher, even headlining his own series. Now he's taking his guns to the big screen. More from The Hollywood Reporter Abigail Breslin, Booboo Stewart to Star in Dramedy Movie 'A Good Fight' (Exclusive) Steven Spielberg Thought 'Jaws' "Would Be the Last Movie I Would Ever Be Given to Direct" How Prime Video Gives Cord-Cutters One-Stop Access to Apple TV+, HBO Max, Paramount+ and More Bernthal has joined Tom Holland in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, the latest Spider-Man movie from Sony and Marvel. Destin Daniel Cretton is directing the feature, which will shoot in England this summer and has a July 31, 2026, release date. Much of the movie remains shrouded in mystery. Movie rumor websites have listed upwards of a dozen possible villains, from crime bosses to alien symbiotes, who could appear in the feature, as well as a couple of different versions of the Hulk. The only thing clear at this stage is that Zendaya and Jacob Batalon are reprising their roles as MJ and best friend Ned, although how substantial those roles will be remains unclear. And Stranger Things star Sadie Sink is the big new addition so far. The story takes place after the events of the previous movie, Spider-Man: No Way Home, in which the entire world knew Peter Parker was Spider-Man and then had that knowledge erased. Having Bernthal as the Punisher seems to point to a slightly more grounded angle on the story as the character hails from the gritty street corner of Marvel's universe and, in the comics at least, uses fists, knives and guns to tussle with bad guys, rather than spells or fancy tech. But hey, having him square off against a rampaging Hulk could be fun, too. Bernthal first showed up as vigilante Frank Castle, aka the Punisher, in Marvel's Daredevil Netflix series, then starred in his own series that ran for two seasons. He recently returned for a few episodes in Daredevil: Born Again on Disney+. Marvel is betting on more Punisher and Bernthal in the months and years to come. The character is set to return for season two of Born Again and Marvel is bringing Bernthal back for a Punisher stand-alone feature for Disney+. Bernthal is co-writing the latter. Curiously, one nonnegotiable he had for his return to Daredevil was maintaining the character's violent, R-rated feel. It will be interesting to see how that translates into the more kid-friendly tone of the Spider-Man movies. Bernthal and Holland have a charmed history together when it comes to Marvel. The duo were working on the 2017 feature Pilgrimage when prepping to audition for their Marvel roles. The actors helped each other with their audition tapes. This year, Bernthal's big-screen output has included starring opposite Ben Affleck in The Accountant 2 for Amazon and appearing in the Rami Malek thriller The Amateur for 20th Century Fox. Bernthal is repped by CAA and Sloane Offer. ‘SNL's' 50th season takes on 9-time-champ ‘Last Week Tonight' for the Best Scripted Variety Series Emmy

When Last Week Tonight With John Oliver switched Emmy categories from Variety Talk Series to Scripted Variety Series, it put an end to Saturday Night Live's six-year winning streak. Last Week Tonight, which has claimed nine consecutive program trophies, is now hoping to take home No. 10 this year. But SNL's milestone 50th season should prove to be a worthy competitor. First things first: there are six submissions this year for Best Scripted Variety Series, which means there will only be two nominees. Television Academy members who vote on this category are instructed to watch an episode of each contender (a requirement that is not present in the other program races), and then vote "yes" or "no" for whether they think each one is worthy of a nomination. The two entries that receive the highest amount of support will receive bids, as long as they are both over 70 percent approval, according to the Emmys rulebook. More from GoldDerby 'Arcane,' returning from a 3-year hiatus, leads early Best Animated Program Emmy odds The 10 most Lynchian items at the David Lynch auction - and how much they sold for Best Drama Writing Emmy predictions: 'The Pitt' takes a risk by submitting 3 episodes Here's the fine print for what, exactly, constitutes inclusion in this relatively new Emmy category: A Scripted Variety Series is defined as a variety program that is primarily scripted, or loosely scripted improv, and consisting of discrete scenes, satire, musical numbers, monologues, comedy stand-ups, sketches, etc. Scripted Variety may occasionally feature unscripted elements, but the main intent of the series is scripted or performed entertainment. Last Week Tonight has the best chance of winning Best Scripted Variety Series this year, per Gold Derby's Emmy predictions. In Season 12, the John Oliver-hosted program skewered important topics like Elon Musk's influence on Donald Trump's presidency, online content moderation, tipping, ICE detention centers, sports betting, the use of tasers by police, and discrimination against trans women in sports. A 10th victory would put Last Week Tonight just one shy of the all-time record-holder, The Daily Show With Jon Stewart, which won 11. SNL celebrated its golden anniversary on NBC with a season full of returning cast members and special guest stars, including Maya Rudolph as Vice President Kamala Harris, Jim Gaffigan as Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, Andy Samberg as second gentleman Douglas Emhoff, Dana Carvey as President Joe Biden, and Mike Myers as Musk. Notable guest hosts during Saturday Night Live's 50th season were Ariana Grande, Chris Rock, Dave Chappelle, Timothée Chalamet, Lady Gaga, and Scarlett Johansson. (Note that the two primetime specials, SNL50: The Anniversary Special and SNL50: The Homecoming Concert, are competing in the separate category of Best Live Variety Special.) The other four contenders competing in Best Scripted Variety Series are Fantasmas, which focuses on Julio Torres' search for a golden oyster earring; Studio C, the 20-year-old family-oriented sketch show; After Midnight, the late night quiz spoof hosted by Taylor Tomlinson; and It's Florida, Man, the series that reimagines weird stories from the sunshine state.
