Tejashwi Yadav accuses PM Modi of being disconnected from Bihar's ground realities
Patna: Bihar Leader of the Opposition (LoP) Tejashwi Yadav launched a scathing attack on both PM Modi and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Friday, accusing them of 'failure', 'extravagance', and 'disconnect' from Bihar's ground realities. 'We do not want a 'pickpocket' Prime Minister and an 'unconscious' Chief Minister. The Prime Minister gives speeches written on a teleprompter. He has no real understanding of Bihar's ground situation,' he said. He alleged that PM Modi's speech was repetitive, lacking any new announcements, and mocked it as a recycled script with no real vision for Siwan or Bihar. Yadav questioned the utility and cost of PM Modi's frequent visits. 'Every time the Prime Minister comes, Rs 100 crore of Bihar's money is spent. BJP is the richest party in the world, yet the cost of its rallies is borne by the poorest state of India. This is shameful,' he said. He also accused the administration of forcibly mobilising crowds for the rally, saying, 'PM Modi and Nitish are not mass leaders. Even today, if Lalu Prasad Yadav stands in a public square, lakhs will gather on their own.' Tejashwi also raised concerns over the deteriorating law and order. 'Bullets are being fired near the residence of the Leader of the Opposition. If this is the state of security, what safety do common people have?' Tejashwi asked. He took a strong stance on state autonomy, saying: 'Bihar will not be run from outside. Only a Bihari will run Bihar. We are self-reliant and will fight for our rights.' Responding to allegations of insulting B.R. Ambedkar, Tejashwi said: 'Visit outside the Patna High Court, see where Lalu Yadav established Baba Saheb's statue. The same people shouting slogans now had insulted Karpoori Thakur in the past.' He also asked PM Modi to answer about the alleged actions of Home Minister Amit Shah regarding Ambedkar's legacy. Meanwhile, Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary likened Tejashwi's political behaviour to a 'movie character.' 'Just like Amitabh Bachchan had 'Mera Baap Chor Hai' written on his hand in a film, Tejashwi is behaving the same way. His statements show his desperation and political immaturity,' Choudhary said. JD-U MLC and spokesperson Neeraj Kumar also attacked Tejashwi. 'Tejashwi Yadav has crossed all limits of ideological poverty. He is the son of a convicted man and speaks in the same manner. He has nothing constructive to offer Bihar.'

‘Broken all records of deception': Tejashwi targets PM Modi ahead of Bihar visit; dares him to revisit his own past speeches
File photo: Former Bihar deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav and PM Modi (Picture credit: PTI) NEW DELHI: Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi 's scheduled visit to Bihar's Siwan, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav launched a scathing attack on the BJP-led governments at the Centre and in the state. In an open letter posted on the social media platform X, the former Bihar deputy Chief Minister accused the Prime Minister of repeatedly misleading the people of Bihar through what he called over 200 "jumla-filled" election rallies. Tejashwi claimed PM Modi 'has broken all records of deception' and dared him to revisit his own past speeches. 'You will not be able to speak due to embarrassment,' he wrote, urging the Prime Minister to introspect before addressing the public in Siwan on Friday. The RJD leader raised 12-pointed questions, demanding accountability for the state's poor rankings on key development indices. He asked the Prime Minister why Bihar remains at the bottom in terms of per capita income, literacy, industrialisation, employment and investment, despite over a decade of NDA rule at the Centre and two decades of governance by the so-called "double engine" in Bihar. Yadav further asked whether PM Modi would merely re-announce infrastructure schemes that have been 'inaugurated or launched multiple times since 2015'. He said, 'Will you again indulge in showy foundation-laying ceremonies of projects already underway?' Tejashwi also challenged PM Modi to address issues like rampant corruption, alleging that over ₹2 lakh crore has been looted through more than 20 scams in 20 years of NDA rule. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Ambato: Ecuatorianos: generen un segundo ingreso con Amazon CFD. He accused the state administration of coercing government employees, including ASHA and anganwadi workers, to attend the PM's rally in Siwan at their own expense. 'Why are poor workers being financially and mentally harassed for your show of strength?' Yadav wrote. In a provocative query, the RJD leader asked whether PM Modi would explain why Indian soldiers were reportedly restrained during Operation Sindoor due to an alleged ceasefire announcement made by US President Donald Trump. 'Who is Trump to announce a ceasefire for India? Is he your dear friend?' he asked. Tejashwi also questioned if the PM would refer to the 'unconscious state' of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar as he once did with Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik and whether PM Modi would address allegations of political favouritism in alliance nominations. He cited violence and law-and-order issues, asking whether the PM would condemn recent shootings near the CM's residence and Raj Bhavan. He wrote, 'Will you muster the courage to speak on the failures of your own government or will you once again blame the opposition?' Meanwhile, PM Modi is on a two-day visit beginning Friday, with stops in Bihar, Odisha and Andhra Pradesh. In Siwan, he will lay the foundation stone and inaugurate several development projects. This includes boosting railway connectivity and other infrastructure as part of efforts to drive socio-economic growth in the region. Later in the day, the Prime Minister will reach Bhubaneswar, Odisha, where he is scheduled to unveil projects worth over Rs 18,600 crore and launch initiatives like the Baraputra Aitihya Gram Yojana, as well as flag off 100 electric buses under CRUT to strengthen green urban mobility.

Striving for party only criteria to get Assembly tickets, Lalu Prasad tells RJD workers
Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) supremo Lalu Prasad on Thursday (June 19, 2025) promised party workers and leaders that those working hard for the party with honesty would be made candidates in the coming Bihar Assembly elections. His son and Leader of the Opposition Tejashwi Yadav also said party leaders must focus on the ground instead of making rounds in Patna to get Assembly ticket. Also Read | Lalu Prasad expels elder son Tej Pratap Yadav from party and family for 'irresponsible behaviour' The occasion was the State council meeting of the RJD in Patna's Gyan Bhavan where veteran socialist leader Mangani Lal Mandal was officially elected new State president. 'Hardly any time is left for the Assembly election in Bihar; do not wait any more and jump into the election. Those who are working hard for the party, I will ensure that they are made the candidates to contest Assembly elections,' Mr. Prasad said. Most of the senior leaders of the party were present, including his wife Rabri Devi, national vice-president Uday Narayan Choudhary, national principal general secretary Abdul Bari Siddiqui, Lok Sabha member Misa Bharti, Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Yadav and others. Mr. Prasad asserted, 'People have to take pledge to throw out RSS [Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh] and Nitish Kumar to make Tejashwi Yadav Chief Minister of Bihar. There would be people who may criticise Tejashwi but do not listen to them and ensure that at any cost Tejashwi becomes Chief Minister.' Praising his son, Mr. Prasad said he had been continuously working to unite the party and taking along all sections of people. It is the duty of every party worker to make the RJD stronger. Go to the field, respect and ensure that RJD leaves a mark in everyone's heart,' Mr. Prasad said. He also congratulated Mr. Mandal, who has replaced Jagdanand Singh who served the post for two terms, as State president of the party. The RJD had State presidents from Scheduled Caste, Muslims, Backward Class and forward class in the past but for the first time the party has made a State president from the EBC community. 'Leave the ticket-related issues to the party supremo, he will take care of it,' Mr. Yadav said. The former Deputy Chief Minister also slammed Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, reiterating that he was no longer bothered about the people of Bihar and only thinks about his chair. Ms. Devi, without naming Prime Minister Narendra Modi, took a dig at him on the issue of dynasty politics. 'People who live alone talk about nepotism. One who lives alone does not know about family. Whatever Tejashwi has decided, we are with him. The whole Bihar family is ours. Let people abuse us, we all must stay united. The media does not see the negative work of the present government, when something used to happen in our regime, the media used to show it for a month. However, when Lalu ji and Tejashwi eat Sattu (gram powder), people make fun of them,' Ms. Devi said.

Tejashwi pays tribute to ‘Operation Sindoor' martyrs in Buxar
Buxar: Leader of opposition in the state assembly, Tejashwi Prasad Yadav , on Wednesday visited Narbatpur in Chausa to pay tributes to ' Operation Sindoor ' martyrs. Tejashwi met the bereaved families of Havildar Sunil Yadav and CRPF jawan Jaishankar Chaudhary—both residents of Chausa. He hailed their supreme sacrifices. Tejashwi said that while financial aid has been extended to martyrs' families, the state should do more to honour their legacy. "A memorial must be built in their names so that future generations understand the value of their sacrifice," he said. He said he has requested the Union home minister for memorials for martyred soldiers, but he was yet to receive a response. Yadav also met the family of late Arjun Yadav, district president of the RJD labour cell, who was recently shot dead by unidentified criminals near the Chausa thermal power plant on May 26. Tejashwi alleges JD(U) netas blocking Nishant's entry into politics
Patna: Leader of opposition in state assembly, Tejashwi Prasad Yadav , on Wednesday alleged that a group of JD(U) leaders were conspiring to keep chief minister Nitish Kumar 's son, Nishant Kumar , away from politics to ensure their interests were not harmed. Nishant, of late, was found taking keen interest in politics and frequently asking people to vote for his father in the upcoming assembly elections. Talking to reporters on Wednesday, Tejashwi claimed Nishant wanted to enter politics and his father wished so too, but some JD(U) leaders, especially those from the 'bhunja party' (a term used for the CM's inner circle), were conspiring to prevent him from joining politics, fearing they could lose their influence if he steps in. Citing examples, Tejashwi said a JD(U) MP fixed jobs for his two daughters, another MLA for his son-in-law, and a retired bureaucrat for his wife. "But when Nishant is willing to come to politics, they feel uncomfortable and are discouraging him," Tejashwi alleged, adding, "The close aides of CM are fully exploiting his deteriorating health by getting a number of their children and close relatives appointed to influential bodies. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Türk kredi kartı kullanıcıları buna başvurmalı. HANGİKREDİ Daha Fazla Oku Undo " Reacting sharply to the allegations, JD(U) national spokesperson Rajiv Ranjan Prasad said Tejashwi was making wild allegations out of fear of noticing his impending defeat in the upcoming elections. "Let aside Mungeri Lal's sweet dreams, he will no longer continue as the leader of opposition after the next elections," Prasad said. He said Nitish has never been accused of promoting "dynastic politics". "On the other hand, RJD chief Lalu Prasad has set his entire family in politics, let aside his brothers-in-law," he said. Currently, Lalu himself, his wife Rabri Devi, their two daughters Misa Bharti and Rohini Acharya, and both his sons—Tej Pratap Yadav and Tejashwi Yadav—are active in politics.
