Coffs Harbour best bets, inside mail for Friday, June 20, 2025

Racenet and The Daily Telegraph form analyst Shayne O'Cass provides his best bets and race-by-race analysis For Coffs Harbour on Friday. The Form: Complete NSW Racing thoroughbred form, including video replays and all you need to know about every horse, jockey and trainer. â– â– â– â– â– COFFS HARBOUR TIPS BEST BET Race 3 No. 3: PIEDI VELOCI At home, third-up, every added inch from the last run makes him more likeable. NEXT BEST Sent out some positive indicators that a debut win was doable. VALUE BET Race 5 No. 7: DESERT COUGAR Back to 1000m here, handles the wet, had excuses last time. QUADDIE Race 5: 1, 7 Race 6: 1, 2, 7, 10 Race 7: 1, 2 Race 8: 1, 3, 9 JOCKEY TO FOLLOW Country Championship winning jockey BEN LOOKER will take beating on the TAB Jockeys Challenge. SASKATOON BERRY (9) is a valuable mare for later on by virtue of the fact that her third dam is Regimental Gal. This daughter of Impending remains winless after 27 starts but has placed eight times and 'goes' on any ground. Will get there one day and this could be it. DARK STRATUM (2) is a city placed mare from her Richard Litt era. First run up this way had merit. CLEVER ILLUSION (1) is highly consistent. Bet: Saskatoon Berry to win, quinella 2, 9 â– â– â– â– â– RACE 2: Jesse Riley Hcp 1205m COOL MOON (1), like Cool Archie, is by Cool Aza Beel and was born at Newhaven Park. This Gold Coast-housed filly has finished runner-up at two of her three starts (one to Sunrays) and resumed with a solid fourth at Doomben. ISSY'S STAR (8) is a Kris Lees filly who was runner-up in the Red Crown on debut to a classy Sydney two-year-old, Raging Force. TOI TOI (12) and ARCHIE MAXIMUS (3) have claims in a quality line-up. Bet: Cool Moon to win, quinella 1, 8 â– â– â– â– â– PIEDI VELOCI (3) is a really likeable mid to long term prospect for local trainer Donna Grisedale. The son of Supido is yet to place in his three starts but all were good to varying degrees. Once he wins one, he could really get on a roll. OL' MATE COOP (5) has drawn wide here but it might not matter as much, depending on any early pattern. Whatever the case, he's the one with the best form in the race. HEZANUFF (2) wouldn't have to improve a lot on his 'norm' to win. Bet: Piedi Veloci to win â– â– â– â– â– DIVA ROUGE (3) will be the third of her father, Red Henno's, offspring to race. One has won (and like a good horse), the other was placed. Jake Hull trains those two and he's got this one too. Trialled really well and gets Ben Looker from a good alley. DIZZY DEE (4) has run more good races than bad. She resumes here off two trials, winning the June 9 one with Jett Newman. I'M GUESSING (6) won a trial that same day herself. In good hands. Bet: Diva Rouge to win â– â– â– â– â– DESERT COUGAR (7) is a stablemate and half-sister to Lisztomania. This daughter of Capitalist was building up to that first win at Tamworth on May 20 and was most emphatic. Had plenty of reasonable excuses for the ninth of 12 at Grafton after that. Long story short, back to 1006m, is a big plus. Expect better this time. DIAMONDSAREMIO (1) has run maybe one 'bad' race in her eight starts this far. She deserves a lot of praise for her third at Moree behind Starry Jack. Bet: Desert Cougar to win â– â– â– â– â– OSTRACISED (7) has been around. He started off with Team Hawkes in Victoria then went to Kody Nestor, Cody Morgan, Bjorn Baker and now Donna Grisedale. There was a time when he was being looked upon as a Country Championships and even Kosciuszko contender. Fast forward to the present and he's had his hoof on the till for a little while now. Ostracised was runner-up to his stablemate Mallee Boy Express last start and you'd have to say he won on his merits. Bet: Ostracised to win, Daily Double 1st leg 7, 2nd leg 9 â– â– â– â– â– GOLDEN HONOUR (2) was a $220,000 Easter Yearling in 2021. Skip ahead to September 2023 and Glen Milligan bought the horse online for $13,000. He's been a great investment for Milligan who has won four races (and five placings) since then. Won 15 days ago with 60.5kg on a Heavy 9. RONNY ROCK ART (1) failed in town last start but go back two before that and he was only a length and three-quarters off Piggyback at Warwick Farm. Bet: Golden Honour to win, box trifecta 1, 2, 4, 16 â– â– â– â– â– EXOREALM (9) has raced seven times on Good and Soft tracks for no wins, no placings. However, the son of Exosphere has raced on Heavy twice for easy Taree Maiden win and a Taree Maiden third. This will be his second run for Sally Taylor who must have been thrilled with the first one; that fourth back on Jan 31. Trialled well on June 9. TELEGRAPH (1) won a very strong Benchmark 66 on June 5 at Taree. On top of that, the Tony Ball-trained gelding won his maiden at this same track and trip.

Shayne O'Cass's best bets and inside mail for Hawkesbury and Nowra on Tuesday June 17, 2025

Racenet form analyst Shayne O'Cass presents his best bets and inside mail for Tuesday's NSW meeting at Hawkesbury, plus tips for Nowra. â– â– â– â– â– HAWKESBURY TIPS BEST BET Race 6 No.1 CHARLEROI: Highest rated horse in this race off an impressive last start win. NEXT BEST Race 2 No.3 ALL SAINTS: Beaten a nose on debut; spelled, trialled like a bomb recently. VALUE Race 7 No.6 LIKE LUKEY: Ideally suited out to 1800m, third-up, at a favoured venue. QUADDIE Race 5: 2,8,10,11 Race 6: 1 Race 7: 6,8 Race 8: 2,4 JOCKEY TO FOLLOW Rachel King will be popular with punters to win the TAB Jockeys Challenge. HORSESHOE HILL (7) is a 2YO taking on the older horses but only five of them at most. This daughter of dual G2 winner Miss Rose de Lago was tipped out after finishing third to stablemate O' Ole and Memo in the Wyong 2YO Magic Millions on December 11. Smashing trial win on June 6. VANLEE (6) took a lot of ground off Manaajem late when runner-up at Wyong on New Year's Eve. Trialling well herself. LAND SPEED (2) has come back in fine order. BET: HORSESHOE HILL (7) to win. ALL SAINTS (3) was off the map on debut ($2.10 into $1.55) in a Kembla 1000m Maiden on February 8. Beaten a nose with no excuse. They did run 56.66s so not a bad effort in defeat. Spelled, trialled like a bomb (as usual) the other day. CELERITY (5), an $850,000 Easter Yearling, brings strong city form, black-type form in fact, to the provincials today. EL QASABI (1) has claims on a debut second, albeit a distant one. BET: ALL SAINTS (3) to win, quinella 3,5. REVERBERATES (3) is a valuable filly for later on given she is a granddaughter of Wrap Around, herself a daughter of Beach Gown. This Brad Widdup-housed local has placed at three of her six starts, going within inches of a win at Wyong last time. MALBORK CASTLE (1) is a half to Showtime and Sweet Idea. The son of Castelvecchio is trained by Castelvecchio's' trainer Richard Litt and has placed at six of his eight starts. So ready for 1800m today! BET: REVERBERATES (3) to win, quinella 1,3. AUTUMN HEIR (7) is a possible/probable to go to Nowra today. Go well down there! That being the case, it would open the door for his stablemate JAMARNI (8) who is galloping towards his first win. Could make the case to argue that he turned in a career best last start; Zac Lloyd sticks. EMPRESS TSARINA (6) finished third in that same race at Kembla on June 3 where Jamarni was second. If you like one, you almost have to like the other. BET: AUTUMN HEIR (7) to win but if scratched JAMARNI (8) to win. NOTHING BUT NET (11) was $31 for no good reason when he came down the middle and over the top to win a 1000m 2YO Maiden at Goulburn on debut. The downside is, it wasn't an especially strong affair but the upside is, he won, he will surely take improvement from the day out and he is at home this time. That said, QUEEN'S RHAPSODY (2) 's form is far superior in terms of depth but she still has to go 1300m (first time) from the outside alley. BET: NOTHING BUT NET (11) each-way. CHARLEROI (1) was a $360,000 Easter purchase. Gelding now but still worth mentioning that he is a Dundeel out of a stakeswinning Snitzel granddaughter of Monsoon Wedding. The Sara Ryan-trained 3YO was third on debut in town, fourth on the Kenso after that and then went to Kembla and won, not by far, but still with some authority. VIA VARALLO (8) led throughout to win easily at Nowra after running third to Maison Louis no less! BET: CHARLEROI (1) to win (best bet), Daily Double 1st leg 1, 2nd leg 4. LIKE LUKEY (6) has a tidy C.V of 12 starts, three wins, two seconds and four third. Those three wins came in succession – one by four, one by two-and-a-bit and the third by a length-and-a-half here at her only previous visit. Expecting her to bounce back, big time, off the last start Rosehill run. INCANTATION (8) is a consistent Goldolphin mare who held her ground admirably in town last start. Always looked like a mile-plus type and it's 1800m today. BET: LIKE LUKEY (6) to win, quinella 6,8, box trifecta 5,6,7,8. INOUE (4) is a Peter Snowden-trained 3YO and follows Wayupinsthesky, Thousand Years and Vomo Island as residents past and present at his High Street stables. Inoue won first-up at Gosford then went to a Class 1 at Kembla and won it too only this time he beat King's Secret! Wish the stablemate CASSIEL (2) wasn't here to challenge because they are hard to split now. Cassiel is fast and a last start winner. THE GREY (6), with a home-track advantage. is presumably fitter for his first-up fifth. BET: INOUE (4) to win, quinella 2,4. â– â– â– â– â– NOWRA TIPS

Shayne O'Cass's tips and inside mail for Monday racing at Tamworth and Albury

Form analyst Shayne O'Cass presents his best bets and inside mail for Monday's NSW meetings at Tamworth and Albury. â– â– â– â– â– TAMWORTH TIPS BEST BET Race 4 No.2 EVERLASTING KISS: Local ion a good yard, last start winner over her main rival as well. NEXT BEST Race 3 No.3 HELLWITHASMILE: Cody Morgan housed gelding whose trials indicate an early career win. VALUE Race 2 No.3 PRIDE OF NATIONS: A $2,000 buy whose trial was not quite priceless, but good anyhow. QUADDIE Race 4: 2,3 Race 5: 2,4,5,10 Race 6: 1,2 Race 7: 2,7 JOCKEY TO FOLLOW Kody Nestor has some good rides on Monday's card. TAMWORTH INSIDE MAIL RACE 4: Benchmark 66 (2100m) EVERLASTING KISS (2) has plenty more to offer on the track but she is a breeder's dream for later on. For starters, she is by Justify but it only gets better when you factor in that her fifth dam is Eight Carat. As far as the 'punt' goes here, Everlasting Kiss is racing at home today having beaten her main rival, DESCENDING MIST (3), when they met at Inverell last start. That said, there wasn't much between them. BET: EVERLASTING KISS (2) to win (best bet) exacta 2 to beat 3. NOT IN DOUBT (5) is trained by Cody Morgan who has a 21 per cent winning strike-rate here. With that said, the local Not In Doubt has the visitor's draw but he has been so consistent that it is hard to go around him. GREAT POINT (4) is third-up now and getting close to a win. Those two fifths this prep were behind Tasoraay and Red Rags To Bulls. BET: NOT IN DOUBT (5) to win, quinella 5,4, Daily Double 1st Leg 5, 2nd Leg 2. TAVROS (3) is trained here; he has raced at home four times for two wins and a third. On top of that, his jockey Aaron Bullock is one for one on this (bargain) $12,000 yearling. Never won under 1400m but he is fresh-up off a decent trial. STARRY JACK (1) is so used to carrying big weights. Such an honest horse, such an in-form one too being a last start winner. Myalaby has a tidy CV of 12 starts for two wins and four placings. Most impressive at Warren recently. BET: TAVROS (3) each-way, quinella 1,3. THIS ONE TIME (2) was a $15,000 weanling, sold again at the Classic Yearling Sale making $36,000. Already a winner of $41,000 in six runs, she has some amazing broodmare sires; Seattle Slew, Secretariat, all the way back to Man O'War. Now for what really matters; she (and her jockey) are on a hat-trick, one for one at track and distance. Dynamic Syndications filly SAGAPONACK (7) is a Snitzel, a great granddaughter of Lady Jakeo and is also on a hat-trick! BET: THIS ONE TIME (2) to win, quinella 2,7. â– â– â– â– â– ALBURY TIPS BEST BET Race 2 No.2 DONEGAL BAY: Only needed an extra 50m and he wins the 900m maiden; 1000m now. NEXT BEST Race 6 No.11 JATO: Neville Begg/Danny Beasley galloper who is talented beyond this grade. VALUE Race 7 No.8 JUST LIKE LIAM: Been somewhat unlucky; nice race for him here. ALBURY INSIDE MAIL RACE 4: Benchmark 58 (1175m) TI TREE ROYAL (2) is a Ron Stubbs trained local who led throughout to win rather easily at Corowa first-up with Jason Lyon on from a good draw. same deal today only he is back home. Could/should be hard to run down again. SUNDROP (9) didn't run too badly either side of her Corowa win. Is usually strong late and often in significantly better races than this one on Monday. Luke Pepper's IMABARBIEGIRL (6) has claims. BET: TI TREE ROYAL (2) to win, SUNDROP (9) to place, exacta 2 to beat 9. ROCKBARTON SHOUT (1) has raced 13 times for Andrew Dale; winning five, four seconds and twice third. Been here twice for a win and a second. That second was a nose behind Ditterich who will run here as well. back to Rockbarton Shout just to add that she has 'a winning draw' if good enough. MAGNOLIA STAR (13) was too fast for the others when she won here on May 27. BET: ROCKBARTON SHOUT (1) to win, Daily Double 1sr Leg 1, 2nd Leg 8. JATO (11) was bought by Neville Begg for $25,000 as a weanling. The Starcraft filly (out of Zabeel Adrian Knox runner-up, Rahveel) has a real future in the mid to long term. The Danny Beasley-trained 3YO has done some good things in her five starts. She is a 64-rater in an 82 but has a lot of upside. SMART POPPY (5) beat Blow In by inches last at Wagga with Saturday's Highway placegetter Salute Again in third that day. JUST LIKE LIAM (8) hasn't had the best of luck of late. He could have nearly won a Benchmark 66 at Wagga on Town Plate day but for barrier one (boxed in). Back to the mile from two 2000m runs with three weeks off to freshen sets him up to run well. BELLMAN (2) was scratched from a race at home at Wangaratta on Sunday to run here. The Andrew Dale trained Kiwi-bred gelding has finished runner-up in four starts at the Albury 1600m. WHIRLWIND (4) and WARPAINTED (6) are among the chances.

QUADDIE Race 5: 2, 5, 6 Race 6: 2 Race 7: 3, 4, 9 Race 8: 4, 6, 9 JOCKEY TO FOLLOW Four kilo claimer DALE COLE could be in for a big day. Apprentice Dale Cole has a nice rides at Goulburn. NEXT BEST Race 8 No. 10: TANGLEWOOD JIMMY Could run over the top of these late. Has talent. VALUE Race 1 No. 7: GHAZNAVI Winless after 15 starts. deserves one more chance here. INSIDE MAIL - GOULBURN RACE 5: KIRK'S BRIDGE FARM BENCHMARK 58 HANDICAP 1500m DOWNTOWN'S ABBEY (5) has raced here at home three times for a win and a second. That win came at her last start back on April 28 and it was also over this trip. Got a tres bien by Pierre Boudvillain from gate 1 that day. Hopefully barrier 10 of 10 isn't overly detrimental here. In-form MIDNIGHT LUNA (2) may well be saved for this weekend's Highway. The best form of the Pat Murphy-trained local GOOFINATOR (6) is good enough to get onto the podium somewhere. Bet: Downtown's Abbey to win RACE 6: HOMEBASE REAL ESTATE MAIDEN PLATE 1500m LIMBURG (2) was sold for $1 million at the Inglis Easter Yearling Sale in 2022. Fast forward to May 2024 and the son of Justify (and half to Loving Gaby) was snapped up for $11,000. Two runs for Joe Pride at the provincials point to an imminent win. RUDBECKIA (4) faced a Heavy 9 at Bathurst first-up (must forgive). Two runs at the first preparation include a third to Let's Fly at Kembla albeit eight and a half behind her. Bet: Limburg to win, Daily Double 1st leg 2, 2nd Leg 4 RACE 7: JEWELL BUILDERS BENCHMARK 58 HANDICAP 1300m SPIRITS BURN DEEP (4) is bred, owned and trained by one of the industry's great all-rounders in Neil Osborne. This daughter of Deep Field has a win at the same track and distance. She was second to Chemtrail here on May 8 before a below par Highway run on May 24. Kudos to the Green Brothers Racing for their $6,000 yearling buy KILLER KERR (3) who has won $106,000 with more to come. Only needs to repeat her May 30 effort here and she probably wins. Bet: Spirits Burn Deep each-way, quinella 2, 4 RACE 8: RADIO GOULBURN COUNTRY BOOSTED CLASS 1 HANDICAP 1200m THOUGHTFUL (4) is a sparingly-raced five-year-old with just five starts on his resume; one win, one second, one third and one fourth to Highway Strip here too. He seems to be a naturally talented horse and so he should be given he's a close relative of Happy Clapper, Thankgodyou'rehere and others. Fluctuations might tell a story here. You wouldn't find too many outright deeper races than pretty much every single one that WINNIE FORTUNE (8) has contested and run especially well in. Bet: Thoughtful to win, box trifecta 1, 4, 6, 9 INSIDE MAIL - MUSWELLBROOK RACE 5: COUNTRY BOOSTED CLASS 1 HANDICAP 1280m ZELESTIAL (5) was a barber-shop tip when she made her long coming Australian debut on a very wet Taree track on May 20. Masterful training performance by Lyle Chandler, masterful ride by Donovan Dillon too. Pros; beat a subsequent winner and is handy. Cons; second-up off a long break. It's easy to see that Solitario is a young three-year-old on the way up. Races in the colours of his grandam, Ortensia too. Bullock, box two. DASH BY (6) could sprint well fresh. Bet: Zelestial to win, quinella 2, 5 RACE 6: BENGALLA CUP SUN 27 JULY BENCHMARK 58 HANDICAP 1450m BELLINI SPRITZ (9) is a stablemate of the aforementioned Solitario and what was said about him, we could cut and paste for this Arrowfield-owned and bred daughter of Dundeel out of a Snitzel mare. Only win was at the same trip last prep. Good first-up, Bullock, gate five. FULL COMMITMENT (12) has finished with a medal at six of her 10 runs. Note that her only win thus far came second-up as she is here. One day YOU HAVE TO GO (14) is going to run over the top of a field. Bet: Belle Spritz to win, exacta 9 / 12, You Have To Go to place, DD 1st Leg 9, 2nd Leg 19 RACE 7: MAGIC MILLIONS BENCHMARK 82 HANDICAP 1500m REBEL'S EDGE (5) commemorated his 53rd start with a Wingham Cup win on June 5. That was his fourth run back with Cassandra Stummer and all have been good after a short stint in Queensland. ARTFUL PERSUASION (6) has raced 12 times, eight at Kembla as it happens, most of them good. One of his 'away runs' was in the Four Pillars where he finished 10th of the 20 runners. KNIFE'S EDGE (1) won the Parkes Cup last start. Bet: Rebel's Edge each-way RACE 8: ROBSON CIVIL BENCHMARK 66 HANDICAP 1280m TANGLEWOOD JIMMY (10), a third generation descendant of bonny 1990s' mare Western Chorus, has raced nine times for two wins and two placings. One of those placings was here at Muswellbrook. The wins were over 1450m and a mile but he is one of those horses who could just launch himself late over the top here. A POUND OF SALT (1) was rewarded with a very well-earned and overdue Highway win last start. That's three wins inside his last six starts now. Bet: Tanglewood Jimmy to win, quinella 1, 10, box First 4 Nos. 1, 2, 4, 9, 10 GOULBURN BEST BET Race 1 No. 3: Let's Go Brandon Easy winner of a high quality Maiden here last start. Go well. NEXT BEST Race 3 No. 7: Yvette Resumes. Placed at Canterbury at only two at the first prep. VALUE Race 2 No. 8: Everlasting Stars Won here first-up, fourth in town after that, good last time too. QUADDIE Race 5: 2,5,6 Race 6: 2 Race 7: 3,4,9 Race 8: 4,6,9 JOCKEY TO FOLLOW Four kilo claimer Dale Cole could be in for a big day. MUSWELLBROOK BEST BET Race 6 No. 9: Bellini Spritz Done nothing wrong on all three starts. Loaded with promise. NEXT BEST Race 8 No. 10: Tanglewood Jimmy Could run over the top of these late. Has talent. VALUE Race 1 No. 7: Ghaznavi Winless after 15 starts. deserves one more chance here.
