Warriors player savagely taunted Caitlin Clark as she struggles
Warriors player savagely taunted Caitlin Clark as she struggles Caitlin Clark had a rare off night shooting with the Indiana Fever's loss to the expansion Golden State Valkyries, making just 3-of-14 from the field and 0-of-7 from distance. And there was one moment where Golden State Warriors guard Brandin Podziemski got in her ear. It turns out he's been VERY supportive of the new WNBA team in the Bay Area, and while he was courtside, he showed it. Clark was whistled for a travel violation during the game, and as she began walking to the other end of the court, Podziemski popped up and mimicked the travel call as she passed by. It was high comedy. What's even better about this is Podziemski responded to all the attention to his taunt on X (formerly Twitter): No good [laughing emoji] we goin the other way [purple heart emoji] with it Love my Valkyries [heart emoji] There are other clips of him being a huge fan, which you have to love. Check out this one pumping up the crowd! How many points did Caitlin Clark score against the Valkyries? She ended up with 11 points, nine dimes and seven boards. She also had six turnovers and a steal. The Fever lost 88-77 to Golden State.

Brandin Podziemski reps Oilers at Game 5 of Stanley Cup Finals
During the offseason, Brandin Podziemski turned his attention away from the basketball court to take in a hockey game. Yet, not just any hockey game from any seat. The Golden State Warriors guard went north of the border to be in the building for Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Finals between the Edmonton Oilers and the defending champion Florida Panthers. Podziemski made the trip to Alberta, Canada's Rogers Place, to sit on the glass for Game 5 of the Stanley Cup. From his seat, Podziemski provided a bit of commentary for the game, including during a goal from Florida wing Brad Marchand. Despite support from Podziemski, the Oilers had no answer for the Panthers in Game 5. The Panthers dominated the Oilers on their way to a 5-2 win in Game 5 while securing a commanding 3-2 lead in the series. Need a break? Play the USA TODAY Daily Crossword Puzzle The Panthers will have the chance to lock up the Stanley Cup for the second straight season with a win back in Sunrise, Florida on Tuesday evening in Game 6. Warriors Announce Surprise 2nd Surgery for Brandin Podziemski
Warriors Announce Surprise 2nd Surgery for Brandin Podziemski originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Golden State Warriors second-year shooting guard Brandin Podziemski had a banged up wrist that required surgery following the team's playoff exit in the second round against the Minnesota Timberwolves. Advertisement However, he apparently battled another issue down the team's stretch run that required a second surgery, which the franchise didn't make public until Wednesday, June 11. "Warriors announce that Brandin Podziemski underwent surgery to repair a core muscle injury," Tim Kawakami wrote on X. "That's in addition to his wrist surgery last month. Still expected to be ready for the start of training camp -- but whew, this is getting to be a lot." Podziemski, a first-round pick in 2023 (No. 19 overall), played in 64 games and started 33 of them during the regular season. He averaged 11.7 points, 5.1 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 1.1 steals across 26.8 minutes of court time per night. Advertisement His playoff numbers against the Rockets were slightly down from his regular-season efforts, while Podziemski's statistics against the Timberwolves in round two slightly exceeded what he produced during the year -- perhaps due, at least in part, to the absence of Stephen Curry from the final four contests of the five-game series due to a hamstring injury. Podziemski was clearly dealing with both the wrist and core muscle issues during the second round, if not before then, which speaks to his toughness. However, the 22-year-old is going to be an important variable to the Warriors' championship equation in 2025-26, and his injuries complicate that. Either Podziemski will be a starter and/or major rotation contributor for the Warriors throughout the campaign, or he will be one of the young centerpieces to a blockbuster trade to potentially add another star alongside Curry, Draymond Green and Jimmy Butler. Regardless, Podziemski's injuries are certain to be of significant concern to the franchise as it enters a summer in which league insiders expect the team to be aggressively active in both the trade and free-agent markets. Why Warriors' Brandin Podziemski doesn't want a Giannis Antetokoumpo trade
The post Why Warriors' Brandin Podziemski doesn't want a Giannis Antetokoumpo trade appeared first on ClutchPoints. In today's NBA, stars change teams at every trade deadline and free-agency period. As of June 3rd, the longest-tenured All-Stars in the league are Stephen Curry and Draymond Green with the Golden State Warriors. Giannis Antetokounmpo is close behind, having spent the first 12 seasons of his career with the Milwaukee Bucks. Advertisement However, Milwaukee could trade their star soon. According to Warriors guard Brandin Podziemski, he does not want to see the MVP finalist to demand a trade this summer. After an ACL injury to Damian Lillard and another first-round playoff exit, experts expect Antetokounmpo to request a trade this summer. Teams around the league will line up to offer packages for the nine-time All-NBA selection. However, Podziemski offered his thoughts on the situation. According to him, he much prefers players to stay with their original team for their entire career. Podziemski grew up in Wisconsin and was a big Bucks fan as a kid. He spoke to Kay Adams on Tuesday's episode of Up and Adams about the rumors swirling around the superstar. To him, Antetokounmpo playing in another city just doesn't feel right. 'It's like Steph[en Curry] not playing for the Warriors,' Podziemski said about the Greek Freak changing teams. 'All guys who've cemented their legacy and what they're about in this league on one team, you never expect it to change. Advertisement 'It's the same as Luka [Doncic] in Dallas. The whole world is shocked because of the player that he is, and you could see that they were building around him. It's like any star in the league that stays with one team. You expect them to be in one jersey, and anywhere else just doesn't seem right at all.' Even though he is with the Warriors, Podziemski still has an affinity for his hometown. For him, his goal is to win a championship in Milwaukee for Golden State against the Bucks. 'It'd be pretty cool to win a championship in Milwaukee against them; that would be something cool,' Podziemski said. 'But I love Golden State. I love everything that they've invested in me despite having Hall of Famers all the time around me. It's pretty cool to be wanted as a young player.' Podziemski and Antetokounmpo are at different points in their careers. However, if the young Warriors guard has his way, they will stay where they are and finish their careers with one team. Still, Milwaukee's superstar fits what the Warriors are looking for. Therefore, there is a world in which they are in the same deal.

Warriors' Brandin Podziemski on getting ‘Stephen Curry Green Light'
The post Warriors' Brandin Podziemski on getting 'Stephen Curry Green Light' appeared first on ClutchPoints. The Golden State Warriors used a second-half surge to find their way into the postseason. After a grueling seven-game series against the Houston Rockets, Stephen Curry's hamstring injury gave Draymond Green and Co. no chance against the Minnesota Timberwolves. However, Golden State walks away from the playoffs with a silver lining; Brandin Podziemski. The 22-year-old has already earned the ultimate trust from head coach Steve Kerr, receiving the ultimate green light. Advertisement When Kerr took the Warriors' job in 2014, he faced a big challenge. Golden State was stuck, exiting the playoffs earlier than expected in in two consecutive seasons. However, he and Stephen Curry built special chemistry and built a dynasty together. Now that Curry, Green, and Kerr are on the back end of their careers, Podziemski has stepped up to take their place. He and Kerr have a similar relationship as the coach has with Curry. The Warriors coached confirmed as much when he gave Podziemski the 'Stephen Curry Green Light', according to FanDuel TV's Kay Adams. Adams spoke with the rising star on Tuesday's episode of Up and Adams, and he was grateful to have so much trust from Kerr. 'It's definitely a blessing for sure, (I) don't take it for granted,' Podziemski said about Kerr's faith in him. 'Not a lot of young players in the Golden State Warriors system get freedom like I've gotten. I don't take it for granted, but I also know what I put into the game, how much time I spend on it. I think it's an even balance, a two-way street.' Advertisement As the Warriors enter the 2025 offseason, Podziemski is arguably their biggest future piece. Golden State is reportedly pursuing a wing or a center to pair alongside Curry. That player's fit with Kerr's young point guard could play a big role in the final decision. Regardless of who the Warriors bring in, Podziemski is at the center of their future plans. Kerr's confidence in him is a great sign and it could grow as the young guard continues to develop.
