Brandin Podziemski reps Oilers at Game 5 of Stanley Cup Finals
During the offseason, Brandin Podziemski turned his attention away from the basketball court to take in a hockey game.
Yet, not just any hockey game from any seat. The Golden State Warriors guard went north of the border to be in the building for Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Finals between the Edmonton Oilers and the defending champion Florida Panthers.
Podziemski made the trip to Alberta, Canada's Rogers Place, to sit on the glass for Game 5 of the Stanley Cup.
From his seat, Podziemski provided a bit of commentary for the game, including during a goal from Florida wing Brad Marchand.
Despite support from Podziemski, the Oilers had no answer for the Panthers in Game 5. The Panthers dominated the Oilers on their way to a 5-2 win in Game 5 while securing a commanding 3-2 lead in the series.

Buccaneers Rookie Already Making Waves This Offseason
Buccaneers Rookie Already Making Waves This Offseason originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers already had one of the most explosive offenses in football, and now we add in first-round pick Emeka Egbuka to the mix, and suddenly, Baker Mayfield has an embarrassment of riches. Advertisement With Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, Jalen McMillan, Cade Otton, Bucky Irving, and Rachaad White, it might be hard for Egbuka to stand out. However, he's already doing it, and yes, we get it, receivers were going against air with defenders not able to be physical at minicamp, but it is a good start for a rookie. And for Bleacher Report's Damien Parson, if Emeka continues to trend upward, the 2025 season might see him have a big say in proceedings. "If the Buccaneers ease Godwin back into action, Egbuka will see plenty of playing time opposite Evans," Parson wrote. "Bucs quarterback Baker Mayfield praised Egbuka's football IQ and said the team could "plug and play" him in any receiver position. If his level of play is similar or elevates when the pads are on, he will secure a major role in the Buccaneers offense." Ohio State Buckeyes wide receiver Emeka Egbuka catches a pass during the pro day for NFL scouts at the Woody Hayes Athletic CenteAdam Cairns/Columbus Dispatch / USA TODAY NETWORK via Imagn Images The biggest question aimed at Buccaneers offensive coordinator Josh Grizzard and Mayfield is how they will feed all of those receivers with only one football. Advertisement Plus, Irving and the run game will take some of the reps away, too. So there is a delicate balancing act the Buccaneers must undertake in 2025, but make no mistake, Egbuka will be part of this offense, and he allows Godwin to ease himself back from his nasty ankle injury. Egbuka comes into a great situation to begin his NFL career, and he might play a starring role in Year 1. Buccaneers Labeled Eagles' Kryptonite' In NFC Chase
Buccaneers Labeled Eagles' Kryptonite' In NFC Chase originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers rarely get the credit they deserve, as Todd Bowles' team has quietly gone about its business over the past five years. Advertisement With the arrival of Baker Mayfield, the franchise has made it to the playoffs in back-to-back seasons, while Baker has been a two-time Pro Bowler and is coming off a career year in 2024. Now that we move into this offseason, the Buccaneers have addressed several positions on both sides of the ball to further strengthen their roster, to the point where some now consider them an NFC dark horse. And one such person who shares that thought is former Buccaneer Gerald McCoy. 'I believe that the Bucs are good enough to challenge the Philadelphia Eagles this year,' McCoy said on the Rich Eisen Show. 'I honestly believe that. They was good enough last year but they ran to the Washington Commanders, had some mistakes at the end, but the thing is we've seen that the Eagles' kryptonite is the Buccaneers.' Sep 29, 2024; Tampa, Florida, USA; Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts (1) greets Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield (6) after a game at Raymond James Ray Seebeck-Imagn Images That's quite the statement, and there is a little stat that backs up McCoy's "kryptonite" theory. And it is one that may surprise you. Advertisement In the last seven outings, the Buccaneers are 6-1 against the Eagles. So there's that. But as we know, that will mean nothing once the regular season comes around. Tampa Bay added Emeka Egbuka to its receiver room, plus Haason Reddick comes in to bolster the pass rush, so the Buccaneers have done a bit of work improving certain parts of their roster. Is that enough to topple the Eagles in the NFC? We aren't there yet, but Tampa certainly has the weaponry to do so. Related: Can Buccaneers' Bucky Irving Squash Sophomore Slump?
