Glastonbury's secret act 'confirmed' as fans spot huge clue just days before
Glastonbury Festival is set to make a triumphant return this year, with the likes of The 1975, Neil Young and Olivia Rodrigo headlining - but there's still a mystery act on the bill Has Glastonbury Festival 's secret act accidentally been revealed? Music fans certainly think so. An American rock legend arriving in London just days ahead of things kicking off at Worthy Farm has people convinced the singer's band is set to play the hush-hush set. The iconic music festival is returning on Wednesday, with British pop band The 1975, folk star Neil Young and his band the Chrome Hearts, and US pop singer Olivia Rodrigo topping the bill. Glastonbury is running from June 25 to June 29 this year with performances from the likes of US rapper Doechii, UK singer Raye and veteran rocker Sir Rod Stewart, who will be playing during the coveted legends slot. Also performing is Irish rap trio Kneecap, US star Gracie Abrams and alternative pop singer Charli XCX. The line-up features a number of acts listed as TBA, as well as a mysterious act called Patchwork, who will take to the Pyramid Stage on Saturday. Careful not to draw speculation as to who the act could be, organiser Emily Eavis recently said: "I've been working on Patchwork for a long time." She also admitted that planning for their appearance had taken about a year for "logistical" reasons. Fans are convinced Patchwork are in fact The Foo Fighters, thanks to Dave Grohl being spotted in London recently. The rocker, who last year announced he had become a father again after an extramarital affair, was seen backstage at the Yeah Yeah Yeahs gig at the Royal Albert Hall. Grohl, who posed for a photo with American singer Amanda Palmer at the gig, is no stranger to surprise Glastonbury sets. In 2023, his band performed at the Somerset festival under the alias The Churn Ups - their first major UK gig since the death of the band's drummer Taylor Hawkins in 2022. And Glastonbury fans are convinced a similar thing will be happening again this year. "Dave Grohl is in London, likely will be at the festival," one Reddit user penned as the pictures of Grohl hit social media. "Has done bits with John Fogerty in the past and other acts. Surely will be popping up at places this year?" Another added: "100% he will be milling about – I'd say a couple of guest appearances are a safe bet. Maybe Alanis for a song or Neil Young for an encore." Glastonbury Festival has sold "a few thousand less tickets" this year in a bid to avoid overcrowding, organiser Emily Eavis said earlier this month. In an appearance on the Sidetracked podcast Eavis, 45, outlined the changes that have been made to this year's festival and said music area Shangri-La is "going full trees and green space" which is "completely the opposite to anything they've done in the past". She also revealed that the festival has managed to buy some land that sits "just on the outside of the site", which will be used for crew members. She added: "We've also sold a few thousand less tickets, so it will be interesting just to see how that affects the dynamics on site." The first group of tickets for the event sold out in 30 minutes last November, with the second lot selling out in fewer than 40. Eavis said times have changed, adding: "There were years where you just couldn't sell out, you just couldn't give them (the tickets) away." Also at the festival, presenters Annie Mac and Nick Grimshaw will take to the BBC Introducing stage on June 26 for a live episode of Sidetracked.

It's nearly time for one of the biggest musical events of the year - as 135,000 people pack into Worthy Farm for the Glastonbury Festival . They'll see headliners The 1975, Olivia Rodrigo and Neil Young, along with hundreds of other acts across over 100 stages. But looking at the schedule on the official website, music fans will see numerous timeslots with 'TBA' next to them - with no indication of who will be playing. It could be a global megastar, or some busker from down the road on an acoustic guitar. Such is the joy of the festival. There are some big gaps to be filled - on Friday there's 11.30am on the Woodsies Stage, 4.55pm on the Pyramid Stage, and 8.30pm on the BBC Introducing Stage. On Saturday, expect plenty of interest about who exactly 'Patchwork' are - third on the Pyramid Stage bill. Meanwhile there will be surprises for prime spots on the Park Stage at 7.30pm and the Shangri-la Stage at midnight. On Sunday, those opting to go to the BBC Introducing Stage at 8.30pm could be in for a treat (or not). Haim - 1/5 The three sisters of Haim have a new album out and are in the UK with free time on Glastonbury weekend. The fact that there's a book called 'Patchwork' written by a German author called Sylvia HAIM means some people reckon they've solved the riddle of the mysterious band of the same name appearing third on the bill on the Saturday. Glastonbury headliner that doesn't exist has fans guessing at surprise artist
A mystery act called Patchwork will play the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury, but who are they? Fans take a guess at who the unknown artist could be, with theories including Lorde, Haim and Oasis The Glastonbury surprise headline is set to return this summer after the festival 's full timetable was revealed, with one act causing a wave of questions online. Why? Because nobody has heard of them! The mysterious Patchwork have been honoured on 2025's line-up: third line down on Saturday night's main Pyramid Stage. Fans, waiting in excitement, took to searching for the 'new' band, only to realise... they do not exist. The fake band name represents a mystery headliner, as seen in 2023 after The ChurnUps - completely unheard of - appeared on that year's Pyramid bill, only to be revealed on stage as the Foo Fighters. In a wave of speculation, fans started investigating the real identity of Patchwork. We've pulled together a list of the most talked about contenders for who Patchwork could be. Lorde Surprisingly not on the bill after her 'bratty' return, Lorde has launched herself back onto the charts with new song What Was That and iconic feature on Charli XCX's Girl, So Confusing. Celebrating it's one year anniversary, perhaps Patchwork will reveal the two popstars "working it out on the remix," but this time on the Pyramid stage. Lorde told BBC Radio 2's Jo Whiley this week she's "pretty keen" to return to Glastonbury's fields, while Charli is scheduled for another performance at 22:30 - 23:45. So, it's feasible the two could run to the main stage for the 18:00 - 19:00 Patchwork slot. Haim The American sister trio were deemed a strong contender by the BBC as they have both a new album and performance planned in Margate for Glastonbury's Friday. It is likely then for them to travel down to the Southern fields for Saturday's evening stage. Intriguingly, a few fans on X have have uncovered a German novel called Patchwork, 2011, by the author Sylvia Haim, along with a 2015 film on a young group of three women. X user, Tim Street, wrote: "My literary wife has pointed out that Patchwork is a novel by Sylvia Haim, suggesting the Saturday pyramid slot is none other than @HAIMtheband...." Robbie Williams The BBC article also offered up the ex-Take That star as a potential Patchwork, including his new release of album Britpop as evidence. With his album's artwork featuring an old image of Williams playing at Glastonbury in 1995 - and the star's tour making headlines for taking over the Emirates stadium last week - it is easy to believe the Angels singer will appear... if it weren't for his tour show in Werchter, Belgium on June 28, Glastonbury's Saturday. Oasis Others have shared their hopes that Glastonbury's Pyramid stage may continue the Oasis reunion, believing the Gallagher brothers to launch their 'patching-up' early before their concert. This might be the wildest fan theory and, again, very unlikely considering Robbie's tour and the Oasis reunion occurring a week after the festival. Pulp The British pop icons who performed a secret set in 2011, have recently released their first album after 24 years. Fans have highlighted the huge gap in the band's schedule, conveniently around the Glastonbury period. An observational bunch also pinpointed the fact that, during an appearance on BBC Radio 2, band keyboardist, Candida Doyle, mentioned her love for her hobby: patchworking. And although their spokesperson has stated Pulp is not the mystery act, we have to wonder: are they bluffing?

Glastonbury's Emily Eavis shares the major ticket change she made this year
Glastonbury Festival's Emily Eavis revealed the changes she's made to the site to help avoid overcrowding at this year's event The organiser of Glastonbury Festival has revealed one major change they made to this year's festivities, which meant a number of people missed out on tickets. Organiser Emily Eavis sat down with DJs Annie Mac and Nick Grimshaw for a special episode of their BBC Sounds podcast 'Sidetracked' to talk all things Glasto. Emily spoke about the behind the scenes work, performance secrets, and changes for this year's event, including the change to the capacity of the festival. She revealed that some areas of the iconic festival have shifted slightly to make way for extra space for visitors, in places such as the South East Corner. The festival even purchased an extra field on the perimeter of the site to help fit in changes made to areas and crews in the South East Corner for the night-time performances. This is to help festivalgoers avoid herds of people all moving in one direction as they move from stage to stage at busier times of the day. However, one major factor in the site changes was a reduction in the number of tickets sold for this year's event, which was reduced by 'a few thousand.' Emily told the podcast hosts: 'The other thing is that we've sold a few thousand less tickets. So it will be interesting to see how that affects the dynamics on site.' She explained the reason for this is to see if fewer numbers of people will make an impact on crowds at busier times of the festival. Glastonbury has had the capacity to host a massive 210,000 people on site for the five-day festival. In previous years, concerns were raised about the overcrowding in areas of the festival during certain performances. Nick and Annie pointed out that the likes of Charli XCX and Doechi would be likely to pull massive crowds, but that it's 'hard to predict' the reality. Emily explained that with the help of Glastonbury Festival app, the organisers are able to keep on top of crowd control using a colour-coded system. She said that if a stage or field is signified by 'red' then it's likely the field would have to be closed, persuading festival goers to take alternative routes. Glastonbury Festival will kick off on Wednesday, June 25, with headliners The 1975, Neil Young, and Olivia Rodrigo.
