Glastonbury's secret act 'confirmed' as fans spot huge clue just days before

Daily Mirror3 days ago

Glastonbury Festival is set to make a triumphant return this year, with the likes of The 1975, Neil Young and Olivia Rodrigo headlining - but there's still a mystery act on the bill
Has Glastonbury Festival 's secret act accidentally been revealed? Music fans certainly think so. An American rock legend arriving in London just days ahead of things kicking off at Worthy Farm has people convinced the singer's band is set to play the hush-hush set.
The iconic music festival is returning on Wednesday, with British pop band The 1975, folk star Neil Young and his band the Chrome Hearts, and US pop singer Olivia Rodrigo topping the bill.

Glastonbury is running from June 25 to June 29 this year with performances from the likes of US rapper Doechii, UK singer Raye and veteran rocker Sir Rod Stewart, who will be playing during the coveted legends slot. Also performing is Irish rap trio Kneecap, US star Gracie Abrams and alternative pop singer Charli XCX.

The line-up features a number of acts listed as TBA, as well as a mysterious act called Patchwork, who will take to the Pyramid Stage on Saturday.
Careful not to draw speculation as to who the act could be, organiser Emily Eavis recently said: "I've been working on Patchwork for a long time." She also admitted that planning for their appearance had taken about a year for "logistical" reasons.
Fans are convinced Patchwork are in fact The Foo Fighters, thanks to Dave Grohl being spotted in London recently. The rocker, who last year announced he had become a father again after an extramarital affair, was seen backstage at the Yeah Yeah Yeahs gig at the Royal Albert Hall.
Grohl, who posed for a photo with American singer Amanda Palmer at the gig, is no stranger to surprise Glastonbury sets. In 2023, his band performed at the Somerset festival under the alias The Churn Ups - their first major UK gig since the death of the band's drummer Taylor Hawkins in 2022.
And Glastonbury fans are convinced a similar thing will be happening again this year. "Dave Grohl is in London, likely will be at the festival," one Reddit user penned as the pictures of Grohl hit social media. "Has done bits with John Fogerty in the past and other acts. Surely will be popping up at places this year?"

Another added: "100% he will be milling about – I'd say a couple of guest appearances are a safe bet. Maybe Alanis for a song or Neil Young for an encore."
Glastonbury Festival has sold "a few thousand less tickets" this year in a bid to avoid overcrowding, organiser Emily Eavis said earlier this month.

In an appearance on the Sidetracked podcast Eavis, 45, outlined the changes that have been made to this year's festival and said music area Shangri-La is "going full trees and green space" which is "completely the opposite to anything they've done in the past".
She also revealed that the festival has managed to buy some land that sits "just on the outside of the site", which will be used for crew members. She added: "We've also sold a few thousand less tickets, so it will be interesting just to see how that affects the dynamics on site."
The first group of tickets for the event sold out in 30 minutes last November, with the second lot selling out in fewer than 40. Eavis said times have changed, adding: "There were years where you just couldn't sell out, you just couldn't give them (the tickets) away."
Also at the festival, presenters Annie Mac and Nick Grimshaw will take to the BBC Introducing stage on June 26 for a live episode of Sidetracked.

Award-winning ITV drama confirms next series will be the last in blow set to leave fans ‘in tears' - and filming for the final episode has already kicked off

ITV has announced that one of their hit series will be coming to an end after its third season. First airing in 2022, The Dry follows the life and family of Shiv Sheridan (Roisin Gallagher), a woman recovering from alcoholism who returns home to Dublin after 10 unsuccessful years as an artist in London. Shiv, 35, is faced with moving back in with her family, all of whom are big drinkers, and are skeptical of her decision to go 'dry'. The series is the brainchild of Irish writer Nancy Harris, who was inspired to write a series that would reconnect her with her Irish identity. She was supported in production by similarly Dublin-born director Paddy Breathnach, who has directed every single episode. The show was initially broadcast on RTÉ One, but was moved to ITV for the second season after its huge popularity. 'Relatable, dark, despicable, yet abundantly human characters. The dry has everything you want from a dramedy and it's full of Irish craic.' Wrote one reviewer on IMDB. 'Shiv and her fellow Sheridan clan are a fantastic Portrayal of ordinary Vs extraordinary and how trauma can creep up on us. This series had me roaring with laughter and crying real tears. Can't wait to see more.' But the Irish comedy-drama will come to an end after the release of the third season, Harris has confirmed, in a statement reflecting on the show. 'It has been a true joy to see audiences embrace the Sheridan family in all their dysfunctional glory' she said. 'I am so grateful to have gotten to tell this story over three seasons.' 'The third and final season aims to go deeper than ever before, really getting under the skin of Shiv and the family in a way that we hope is both surprising, funny and (painfully) honest,' she concluded. Achieving an impressive 94% Rotten Tomatoes score, The Dry has been praised for its authenticity, humour and intelligence. Filming is currently underway for the third and final season of the show, which is scheduled to premiere in 2026. The new season will see the return of the original cast, IFTA nominee Siobhán Cullen (Caroline), Adam Richardson (Ant), Oscar nominee Ciarán Hinds(Tom), Pom Boyd(Bernie), Moe Dunford(Jack)and Eoin Duffy(Rory). Season 3 is said to unearth a huge secret that changes the course of destiny for the Sheridans. But will their fragile family infrastructure shatter under the impact, or become stronger and more durable? 'It's going to be a wild ride' says Nancy Harris, 'and we can't wait to share it with our audience.'

Justin Timberlake fans gutted after Isle of Wight set 'not allowed' on TV

Justin Timberlake fans hoping to watch his Isle of Wight Festival performance on Sky were left disappointed on Sunday night. The American popstar, 44, has four UK number one singles to his name and was one of the biggest names who headlined the festival in 2025. He was joined at the top of the bill over the weekend by the likes of legendary Police frontman Sting and Welsh chart-topping band Stereophonics. Fans who hadn't been able to see the Rock Your Body hitmaker in person had hoped to catch coverage of his set on Sky Arts, which now has a partnership with the festival. But they were made to go without on Sunday night when it was confirmed live on air that Sky Arts wouldn't be able to broadcast Justin's set from Seaclose Park. Edith Bowman, hosting Sky's TV coverage from the festival, let fans and viewers know that the channel wasn't allowed to broadcast any footage from Justin's set. While an official statement wasn't read out on air, users on social media and dedicated TV forums speculated as to the reasons why the SexyBack singer's set was kept private. @MissTracey_Dav commented on X: 'Edith Bowman has confirmed Sky are not allowed to show the Justin Timberlake set – he'll never get booked for Glastonbury then!' @DarryBunne said: 'Sky Arts not showing the Justin Timberlake set tonight at the Isle of Wight Festival (through no fault of theirs by all accounts).' Elsewhere, @TheGlamaMama explained her disappointment: 'Gutted that Sky Arts aren't broadcasting Justin Timberlake. Why?' On Facebook, Edward Coppock asked: 'Anyone one know why they're not showing the final day Isle of Wight Festival headline act Justin Timberlake on Sky TV on Sky Arts tonight?' On the Digital Spy forums, user Dodrade asked, 'Are Sky showing Justin Timberlake's set tonight? He isn't listed on the EPG?' to which they were told that the set would not be broadcast. ManUtdFan17 told Dodrade, 'Nope. Edith just confirmed at start of broadcast,' before speculating whether the decision had been made by Justin's team. FlakeWhip then expanded the discussion to speculate that 'certain acts insist on not being televised, or having control over what is televised, if they so wish'. This weekend will see Neil Young headline Glastonbury, with fans of the legendary rock musician unsure whether his set from the Pyramid Stage will go out on the BBC. More Trending Earlier this year, the 79-year-old music icon surprised everyone by saying he was pulling out of the festival after finding out that the BBC was a 'partner in Glastonbury and wanted us to do things in a way we were not interested in'. However, Neil retracted that statement and said: 'Due to an error in the information received, I had decided to not play the Glastonbury festival, which I always have loved. 'Happily, the festival is now back on our itinerary and we look forward to playing! Hope to see you there! Love, Neil Young and the Chrome Hearts' View More » Metro has contacted Isle of Wight Festival for information. Got a story?
