Nick Knowles' wife recreates her wedding look as they pack on the PDA at Ascot

Nick Knowles and his new wife Katie have put on a loved-up display as they attended Royal Ascot, where Katie wore a dress that was very similar to her wedding gown Newlyweds Nick Knowles and wife Katie packed on the PDA as they enjoyed their first public outing as a married couple on Friday. The DIY SOS presenter, 62, and his new spouse, 34, were all smiles as they shared a smooch at day four of Royal Ascot. Nick Knowles and Katie tied the knot in a lavish six-figure ceremony at the start of June after being together for over four years. The happy couple first crossed paths back in 2019 and made their relationship official two years later in 2021. ‌ Basking in their newlywed bliss, Strictly Come Dancing star Nick and Katie looked dapper as they joined race goers and celebrities like Georgia 'Toff' Toffolo at the jewel in the crown of the UK racing calendar. ‌ Katie donned a blue and white frock strikingly similar to her wedding dress, as she planted a smacker on her new husband at the star-studded event. She complemented her outfit with a chic navy hat and elevated her stature with strappy nude heels, all the while flashing a radiant smile for the camera. Accompanying her, Nick looked dapper in a black suit and light blue silk waistcoat, as the couple demonstrated they were still very much in their honeymoon phase. Nick and Katie certainly spared no expense for their special day, with reports suggesting the event cost into the six figures. Nick cut a dapper figure in a light pink tuxedo jacket, paired with black trousers and a matching black bow tie. He completed his look with a purple flower in his lapel. Meanwhile, Katie turned heads in a non-traditional wedding gown. Eschewing the typical all-white dress, she chose a white gown adorned with blue flowers. Her hair was elegantly styled in a bun and she opted for full glam bridal makeup. She accessorised her look with a sparkling statement necklace and a long veil. ‌ The couple's paths first crossed in 2019 when Katie's daughters became friends with Nick's youngest son Eddie, 9, at a play centre. Katie runs a lingerie and sex toy business and also owns another company, Boobbix, which sells 'lactation products for breastfeeding mums'. Nick proposed two years ago during a trip to New Orleans. Since then, Katie celebrated her final days of singlehood with a hen-do surrounded by her closest friends and family shortly before the big day. ‌ Katie, who juggles motherhood with two kids, has found herself justifying the substantial age difference between her and Nick. Yet, she's not the first younger lady linked to the celebrity. Back in 2019, Nick was spotted cosying up to 26 year old PR guru Emily Hallinan during a West End show date. The previous year, he dated marketing whizz Rebecca Kearns, who is said to be over three decades his junior. Post-breakup with Rebecca, Nick was snapped looking rather close with Emmerdale actress Gemma Oaten at the TV Choice Awards in September 2016. The snaps, however, spelled the end for the pair, with Gemma recounting the ordeal: "One Sunday morning we were lying in bed and all these texts came through about us being photographed together. In an instant he completely changed. It was all about him and how it was going to affect his family. It was really cruel as he said it didn't matter for me. I felt sick." She continued: "I said, 'Do you want to throw away what we have? We have done nothing wrong'. But he just dropped me like a ton of bricks. I thought it was a real relationship and he wasn't afraid to let others know."

Expert urge Edinburgh to take precautions ahead of scorching temperatures

THEYE With scorching temperatures predicted in Edinburgh this weekend (20th - 22nd June), Scots are being urged to take precaution as mosquito-born diseases are rapidly spreading across the country. Temperatures are expected to rise up to 27 degrees, and experts are encouraging Scots to ensure they're wearing more than SPF, but mosquito-repellent too. This follows news on the recent West Nile virus outbreak found in the UK for the first time. Mainly spread between birds, the West Nile virus can now infect people when bitten by an infected mosquito. Symptoms include fever, fatigue, aches and nausea - and in rare cases, can cause encephalitis or meningitis. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad Mosquitoes thrive in warm, damp conditions and their activity increases as temperatures rise - meaning the risk of a bite from a disease carrying mosquito is higher. Founder of natural insect repellent brand THEYE®, explains: "Many people assume that mosquito-borne diseases are only common abroad, but climate change has resulted in those viruses now spreading to the UK as populations migrate - which is what we're seeing with the West Nile Virus. We're expecting higher risks of not only West Nile, but worrying reports of Zika, Chikungunya, Dengue Fever, on home shores, and abroad in holiday hotspots around Europe. 'Protection is more important than ever, but it does not, and should not, mean more chemicals." Nick warns Brits against using popular chemical repellents with DEET, especially around children and pregnant women, praising DEET‑free, natural alternatives that can be reapplied more frequently without harmful side effects. The secret ingredient to the natural alternative is known as PMD - a natural compound derived from Java Citronella oil, and has been clinically proven to repel mosquitoes, ticks, and other biting insects - without the toxicity risks of chemical alternatives like DEET. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad His advice: 'We'd strongly recommend getting tested and approved natural, DEET-free insect repellents and wearing these across the day, and particularly into dusk. If you're travelling into particularly high-risk areas, covering up with long sleeves or trousers can be a great idea, and sleeping under a mosquito net if sleeping outdoors or somewhere particularly rural would be key. Keep an eye out for standing water, including perhaps paddling pools and marshy puddles, as they love standing water. Finally, if in high risk zones, make sure that your repellent option is signed off for use in high risk areas like THEYE®, but do make sure that you're consulting your doctor before travel.' Edinburgh dog attack horror as boy rushed to hospital after being mauled at park

GRAPHIC IMAGE WARNING: Maria was celebrating a friend's birthday with her son when he was allegedly attacked by a dog. A Scots mum was left shaken after her son was allegedly attacked by a dog at a busy local park. Nine-year-old Nicholas Quintero suffered injuries to his face after the horror incident while he and his family attended a surprise birthday party at Leith Links on Thursday night, reports Edinburgh Live. ‌ Nick's mum Maria Cedeno recalled singing happy birthday to a friend before she heard screams and turned round to find blood gushing from her son's face after the dog supposedly lunged at him. ‌ According to Maria, Nick pointed to a Bulldog-type dog as she removed him from the park and called an ambulance. Medics arrived and police were later alerted to the incident. However, Maria claims the owners of the dog attempted to mask the incident from police and initially denied any wrongdoing. Nick was rushed to hospital and returned on Friday morning, June 20, for surgery due to the severity of his facial injuries. Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community! Maria is now furious following the ordeal and the handling of the incident by the owners of the dog. She claims they are yet to apologise or take any accountability for the attack which has left her son "traumatised." When approached for comment Police Scotland confirmed a child was taken to hospital after being jumped at by a dog. However, images taken by Maria appear to show a bite mark on her son's body. ‌ Speaking to Edinburgh Live Maria, from Saughton, said: "I took the children to a gathering for a surprise party and it was supposed to be a fun day out and water gun fight. "The children were getting ready and everyone started singing happy birthday but all of a sudden I hear Nicholas shouting and screaming. My son's friends and him say all he did was pet the dog, there was no trigger for it to react like that. "The owners tried to tell the police there was balloons but there was none at all. When I saw all the blood I thought he had a nose bleed as it just wouldn't stop but he was covering his face and pointing to the dog. ‌ "My reaction was I have to take him out of the park and phone an ambulance. The ambulance crew phoned the police and the dog was suddenly gone. It took 30 or 40 minutes for them to admit it was their dog. "We're now in hospital as he needs surgery. He has a cut at his mouth which is properly open and can't be stitched. I'm thankful the dog couldn't properly get a hold of him or he could have lost half his face." Pictures shared by Maria show the severity of the injury sustained in the attack as he was left with a huge cut on his face pouring with blood. ‌ Maria stated that the incident has already had a significant impact on her son as he was spooked by the family's own dog when he returned home on Thursday. The attack was also witnessed by Maria's other son, who is 11-years-old, and a friend of his. Police have since confirmed the matter has been passed to the dog warden. ‌ Maria added: "It is all wrong and I want to make people cautious. I also want the owners to take accountability and responsibility as there hasn't even been an apology or a message to ask if they can help. "Two more children have been left in shock by this as his older brother and his friend were there. As owners we have to take accountability and if this was the other way around I'd be calling an ambulance and helping in any way, but there was no help." A Police Scotland spokesperson said: 'Around 6.45pm on Thursday, 19 June, 2025, officers received a report of a dog having jumped at a child in the Links Place area of Edinburgh. 'The child was taken to hospital for treatment. The matter has been passed to the dog warden.' A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson said: 'We received a call at 18:32 on Thursday 19 June to attend an incident on Salamander Place, Edinburgh. We dispatched one ambulance to the scene and transported one patient to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.'
