Duo held for drugs in Lahad Datu

LAHAD DATU: Two men, including a foreigner, were arrested for syabu. District Acting Police Chief Supt Jimmy Panyau said the duo were detained following the Op Tapis conducted by Narcotic Crime Investigation Division (BSJND). He said the operation is among efforts to combat drug activities in the district. Advertisement Jimmy said in the first operation about 1pm on Wednesday, a 42-year-old foreigner was detained behind the shop in Taman Aman 3, Jalan Silam. 'The man was found possessing 30 packets of translucent plastic containing substances believed to be syabu weighing 5.55 grammes. 'The suspect also tested positive for Amphetamine and Methamphetamine. The seizures were estimated worth RM610.50,' he said. The second suspect, a 31-year-old local, was detained at the security post in Jalan Segama. He said the suspect was in possession of 0.78 grammes of syabu, and tested positive for Amphetamine and Methamphetamine. 'Both suspects are in our custody and investigations carried out under Section 39A(1) and Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drug Act 1952. Trio held for drugs in Lahad Datu

LAHAD DATU: Three men were detained in three separate arrests for their involvement in drug-related activities on Monday. District Acting Police Chief, Supt Jimmy Panyau, said the trio were detained by the Narcotic Crime Investigation Division (BSJND) during the 'Ops Tapis'. He said the first suspect was detained in an operation at Kampung Panji. The Filipino man was arrested by the road side after police found 0.13 grammes of syabu in his possession. The suspect who did not have any identification document was detained for investigation under Section 12(2) of the Dangerous Drug Act 1952. 'The second arrest involved a 44-year-old local man who was detained near the first location. When inspected, the police found a folded red paper containing 0.26 grammes of syabu. 'The suspect also tested positive for taking Amphetamine and Methamphetamine. He also had three previous criminal records,' he said, adding that the case would be investigated under Section 12(2) and Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drug Act 1952. The third suspect, a 22-year-old man was detained at the BSJND office. The suspect tested positive for taking Amphetamine and Methamphetamine. Investigation is conducted under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drug Act 1952. Woman among seven held in drug raids

LAHAD DATU: Seven people including a woman were detained and 56.85 grams of Syabu were seized in two separate raids at Tungku and Felda Sahabat, here, on Saturday. District Acting Police Chief, Supt. Jimmy Panyau said, the suspects were arrested following the Ops Tapis carried out by the Narcotic Crime Investigation Division (JSJN) of Lahad Datu Police Headquarters. 'In the first raid at Kampung Tulibas Kecil, four men aged between 35 and 51 were detained after the police found 51.50 grams of substance believed to be Syabu in their possession. 'The team also seized two motorcycles and cash of RM520. All four suspects were also tested positive for taking Amphetamine and Methamphetamine,' he said, adding that the case would be investigated under Section 39B and Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drug Act 1952. According to Jimmy, three other suspects including the woman aged between 26 and 37 were detained following a raid at Felda Sahabat 1. When arrested, the team discovered 5.35 grams of Syabu inside a cigarette's box. 'The two men were tested positive for taking drugs while the woman tested negative. 'Investigation is carry out under Section 39A(1) and Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drug Act 1952,' he said. Jimmy said, all the suspects were currently in their custody and will be remanded for further investigation. LAHAD DATU: A local man and a Filipino were detained during the Ops Tapis operation carried out by the Narcotic Crime Investigation Division of Lahad Datu Police Headquarters at Kampung Puyut, Jalan Pantai, here on Saturday. District Acting Police Chief, Supt. Jimmy Panyau said, the first suspect was detained at about 11.50am. Advertisement He said, police found 0.15 grams of substance believed to be Syabu in his possession. The suspect was also tested positive for Amphetamine and Methamphetamine. 'The second suspect, a 42-years-old local man was detained at the same location after the police found 0.53 gram syabu hid inside a RM50 note. 'The suspect who had six previous criminal records related to drugs was also tested positive for taking Amphetamine and Methamphetamine,' he said. Three men nabbed for Syabu in Lahad Datu

LAHAD DATU: Three men were arrested in separate raids during an anti-drug operation at Kampung Puyut, Jalan Pantai, on Saturday. District Acting Police Chief Supt. Jimmy Panyau said the suspects were detained by the Narcotic Crime Investigation Division of the Lahad Datu Police. Advertisement The first suspect was caught with 0.20 grams of syabu, the second with 0.53 grams, and the third with 0.29 grams. All are being investigated under Section 12(2) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
