FIR against man who died to save worker in septic tank in Faridabad

Faridabad: An FIR was registered against the owner of a house who died while attempting to rescue a daily wager cleaning his septic tank last month. The case was registered on Wednesday morning against Mukesh, who sold eggs in Sikri village, under the Prohibition of Employment as Manual Scavengers and their Rehabilitation Act, 2013. It was registered following a complaint by Anita, wife of the deceased worker Anand. On May 14, Anand and his colleague Ravi were hired by Mukesh to clean a choked septic tank at his house in the city. Without any safety equipment, both workers descended into the tank. While Ravi managed to escape, Anand collapsed after inhaling toxic fumes. Mukesh, who jumped in to rescue Anand, also succumbed to the gases. Responding to the family's alarm, neighbours rushed to pull out both victims using ropes. They were taken to the Civil Hospital, where doctors declared them dead on arrival. The police were informed after that. "A leakage in the septic tank caused asphyxia. They had started to clean a small drain entry, but were told to clean the entire septic tank without proper safety equipment. Entering underground tanks full of toxic gases and without protective gear is extremely dangerous," said Vinod, the SHO of Sector 58 police station. Cases were registered against Mukesh under Section 106 of BNS (causing death by negligence) and Section 9 of the Manual Scavengers Act. Anand, who lived with his sister in Sikri village, is survived by his wife, two daughters, and a son.

Faridabad mishap: House owner, worker die in septic tank; cops book deceased for negligence

Representative Image FARIDABAD: Over a month after the owner of a house in Sikri village and a daily wager he hired to clean a septic tank choked to death inside it, allegedly after inhaling toxic gases, police on Wednesday booked the deceased owner of the house. Police said Mukesh , an egg hawker, tried to rescue Anand —a daily wager from the same village—when the latter collapsed inside the tank. On May 14, Anand brought along Ravi to clean the tank at Mukesh's house. As the two descended inside it without any safety equipment, Anand inhaled toxic gases and fell unconscious, while Ravi managed to exit with Mukesh's help. The house owner then jumped inside to save Anand but succumbed to the fumes himself. Now, Sector 58 police have booked deceased Mukesh for causing death due to negligence following the complaint of Anand's wife, Anita of Palwal, who accused Mukesh of not providing safety gear to her husband before making them clean the septic tank. The accused was booked under section 106 of BNS and under relevant section 9 of the Prohibition of Employment as Manual Scavengers and their Rehabilitation Act, 2013. Immediately after the incident on the fateful day, Mukesh's family raised an alarm, prompting neighbours to rush in and pull out the victims using a rope. Anand and Mukesh were rushed to the nearby Civil Hospital, where doctors declared them dead. A team from Sector 58 police station arrived to inspect the tank after being informed about the deaths around 3 pm. Vinod, the SHO of Sector 58 police station, said that a leakage in the septic tank caused asphyxia. 'Mukesh gave the cleaning contract to Anand, who brought Ravi with him. Initially, they intended to clean only a small drain entry. But later, they decided to clean the entire septic tank without using any masks. They should have used a proper mask and other equipment before entering the tank. It is always risky to enter such underground tanks that are full of toxic gases,' he added.

'Karma Is Unforgiving': India Cricketer's Cryptic Post After Harshit Rana Added To Test Squad

Last Updated: India are set to face England in a five-match Test series that will get underway from Friday in Leeds. The Indian men's cricket team is in the final stages of their preparations for the five-match Test series against England that starts from Friday in Leeds. An 18-man squad was named last month by the BCCI for the tour but there has been a last-minute addition in an extra fast bowler for the series opener. Right-arm pacer Harshit Rana has linked up with the Test squad after being part of India A squad that faced England Lions in a two-match Unofficial Test series. The 23-year-old played in the first match and finished with 1/99 from 27 overs. A day after the announcement, fast bowler Mukesh Kumar shared a cryptic post on Instagram. 'Karma bides its time. You will always have to watch out. Karma is unforgiving and always gets payback," the Mukesh shared on his Instagram stories. Mukesh was also part of India A squad for the tour. Like Harshit, he too played in the first unofficial Test in Canterbury but returned better bowling figures than his teammates. In 25 overs, he took 3/92 that included the scalps of centurion Max Holden and England Lions captain James Rew. The 31-year-old made his Test debut during the West Indies tour of 2023 and has so far taken 7 wickets from three matches. He was part of India Test squad for Australia tour in 2024-25 as a traveling reserve but was released midway through the series. Meanwhile, Rana's inclusion has come under criticism with former India fast bowler Dodda Ganesh saying he doesn't understand the team management's 'obsession' with the 23-year-old. 'Anshul Kamboj should have been added to the squad. Don't understand this obsession with Harshit Rana," he shared on X (formerly Twitter). Rana made his Test debut on Australia tour and has so far taken four wickets from two matches. The England tour is India's first assignment of the new ICC World Test Championship cycle that got underway with the Sri Lanka-Bangladesh series in Galle earlier this week. Mukesh Kumar makes cryptic 'karma' post days before 1st Test, fans believe it's a jab at Harshit Rana's 'late selection'

Team India's fast bowler, Mukesh Kumar, posted a cryptic story about 'karma' on his official Instagram account on Wednesday, which has triggered speculations on social media. Mukesh was part of the India A squad during their tour of England, where he played in the first multi-day match against England Lions. He registered the best figures among all bowlers for the side, picking three wickets for 92 runs. Mukesh didn't play in the second tour game, and wasn't part of India's 18-member squad for the five-Test series. However, on Tuesday, Harshit Rana – also part of India A squad – was included as the 19th member in the Test squad. 'Karma bides its time. You will always have to watch out. Karma is unforgiving and always gets payback,' Mukesh wrote on his Instagram story. And fans believe it could be a reaction to Rana's selection in the Test squad. Rana, too, played in only the first game for India A, picking a wicket. The pacer, however, played two matches in India's previous Test series against Australia Down Under. Rana has also represented India in both white-ball formats. Mukesh, meanwhile, last played for India in July 2024 during the T20I series against Zimbabwe. Mukesh has represented the side in three Tests, picking 7 wickets. He made his debut during India's away Test series against West Indies, and last played in the longest format during the home series against England last year. Rana's addition bolsters India's pace attack in England, which includes premier fast bowlers Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj, as well as Prasidh Krishna, Shardul Thakur and Arshdeep Singh, who received a maiden Test call-up. Additionally, Nitish Kumar Reddy also adds to India's pace-bowling options for the series. The side is missing the services of Mohammed Shami for the series. Kuldeep Yadav, meanwhile, leads the spin bowling attack, which includes Ravindra Jadeja as the all-round option.

4 men held in Rajasthan for Rs 26-lakh robbery in Chandni Chowk

New Delhi: Delhi Police arrested four men from Rajasthan in connection with a Rs 26-lakh robbery at a trader's office in Chandni Chowk's Kucha Ghasi Ram on May 31. According to police, around 3pm on May 31, the businessman was alone at his office when two men reached the office, claiming that they had come to collect money. "Once inside, they overpowered him, tied his hands, legs and mouth using khaki-coloured tape and a light yellow rope, searched the office and stole bundles of cash from a cupboard. They then locked the room from outside and fled," DCP (north) Raja Banthia said. A case was registered, and a police team was formed to trace the suspects. "The team analysed footage from nearly 250 CCTV cameras across Chandni Chowk, Red Fort, Dhaula Kuan and Jaipur Highway. The suspects were seen fleeing the crime scene, regrouping at Red Fort and eventually travelling towards Dhaula Kuan, from where they boarded a Rajasthan Roadways bus. The trail led the team to Jaipur, and subsequently to Dhelana village in Amet in Rajsamand district," Banthia said. Police first arrested Kailash (22), who claimed to have confessed and also revealed the identities of his co-accused, Motilal (26), Rajmal alias Raju (44), Mukesh (24) and Kamlesh. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Türk kredi kartı kullanıcıları buna başvurmalı. Police also recovered Rs 18 lakh of the stolen amount and seized clothes worn during the crime. Kamlesh is absconding. Mukesh, who earlier worked for an angadia firm in the same building that transferred valuables and cash, was familiar with the staff at the businessman's office and aware of the cash movement. "In need of money, Mukesh conspired with his friends from Rajsamand. They arrived in Delhi on May 27 and checked into various hotels in Paharganj to avoid suspicion. Over the next few days, they conducted detailed recces of Kucha Ghasi Ram and adjoining areas to plan their strike," an officer said. The accused also revealed how they divided the loot. While Kailash and Kamlesh took Rs 1 lakh each, Motilal and Rajmal got Rs 10 lakh each, and Mukesh received Rs 4 lakh for providing the inside information. Police also learned that the same group previously committed a robbery in Kidwai Nagar in Kanpur, and informed the local police station concerned.
