Bradley Valentine rose to the occasion on Saturday, 7th June 2025, capturing the June edition of the OMA Emirates Medalford at Jumeirah Golf Estates with a composed five-under-par round of net 67. Claiming victory on a back-nine countback, Valentine edged out a strong field of 84 players to earn the top honour on the Fire course. 'I struck the ball well today and felt in control throughout the round,' said Valentine. 'The Fire course was in fantastic shape, and I'm really proud of my score of seven net birdies and a net eagle certainly helped!' Valentine's triumph headlined a day of top-tier competition, as Jumeirah Golf Estates hosted its monthly tournament in partnership with Unique Holding. Ideal early-summer conditions and the pristine quality of the Fire course - thanks to the outstanding work of the Agronomy team - set the stage for strong performances across all divisions. Cameron McWhinnie, Assistant Golf Services Manager, praised the collaborative effort behind the event: 'We're very thankful to OMA Emirates and Unique Holding for their ongoing support of these events. Most importantly, our gratitude goes to the members—your enthusiasm and involvement make these tournaments truly enjoyable for all.' Schoombie Takes Gross Medal In the Gross Medal Division, Mark Schoombie fired an impressive three-under 69 to take the title, just ahead of Tom Neale, whose 70 was edged out on countback. Division A (handicap index 10.4 and below) saw Tom Morgans take the top spot with a net 68, finishing just ahead of Adam James (69) and Priyan De Mel (71). Joshua Burton delivered a standout round of net 67 in Division B (handicap index 10.5 and above), narrowly missing the overall title to Valentine on countback. Harrison tops Stableford Division In the Stableford Division, James Harrison led with 41 points. Though a mid-round ruling removed him from medal contention, he showed great composure to claim the Stableford prize. Willemijn Roeterdink followed with 39 points, taking second on countback. DP World Tour sets the gold standard, wins big at Middle East Sport Industry Awards

It was a night to remember at the Middle East Sport Industry Awards. But for the DP World Tour, it was more than just a celebration — it was confirmation of a bold vision taking flight. Held under the patronage of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, the ceremony is the region's premier platform for recognizing trailblazers in sports. Among the glittering list of honourees, the DP World Tour stood tall — collecting two Gold Awards for Major Sport Event of the Year and Excellence in Sustainability. The DP World Tour Championship, held annually at Dubai's Jumeirah Golf Estates, is already a fixture in the international golf calendar. But in 2024, it became something more: a global spectacle that fused elite sport, cultural diversity, and sustainable innovation. Drawing the highest-ever spectator turnout for a golf event in the UAE, the championship's success was no accident. A fan-first strategy, combined with a dynamic marketing campaign, brought in a record 29% female audience — and international visitors accounted for over 30% of ticket sales. Dubai, long celebrated for its iconic skylines and hospitality, has now added world-class sporting appeal to its global identity. Speaking about the award wins Tom Phillips, Director of Middle East at the DP World Tour, said: 'These two Awards make it 12 prestigious sports industry awards won by the DP World Tour globally in the past 18 months, showing that our commitment to innovation is being acknowledged by our peers. " The Green Drive: Leading with Purpose In a world increasingly alert to climate realities, sport is no longer a bystander — and neither is the DP World Tour. Their Green Drive initiative — which secured top honours for Excellence in Sustainability — is perhaps the most ambitious environmental strategy in professional golf today. With a pledge to reach net zero carbon emissions by 2040, the Tour is setting a benchmark for the global sporting industry. From piloting energy-efficient technologies at Rolex Series events to launching an innovative travel emissions offset platform for fans — a world-first — the Tour is reimagining what responsibility looks like in sports. The Tour has gone a step further by introducing a Sustainability Awards programme for its suppliers in the Middle East, amplifying best practices across the industry and fostering a culture of shared accountability. A Partnership with Purpose The transformation of the DP World Tour would not be possible without its namesake partner. Based in Dubai, DP World has redefined the global logistics landscape — and now, it's bringing the same drive for innovation to sport. As the Tour's title partner since 2022, DP World's involvement goes beyond branding. It reflects a long-term commitment to elevating Dubai's status as a global sports hub — and to positioning the city at the intersection of elite performance, global connectivity, and sustainable growth. 'We would like to thank our Title Partner DP World and all our partners and suppliers for helping us to deliver a memorable experience for fans and leave a positive legacy within local communities,' added Phillips. A Regional Beacon for Global Sport With 12 international awards collected in just 18 months, the DP World Tour isn't just succeeding — it's leading. As the 2025 season unfolds across 26 countries and 42 tournaments, all roads will once again lead to Dubai for the Tour's grand finale. What began as a tournament is now a symbol — of what can be achieved when sport, sustainability, and strategic vision meet on the world stage.

Hymas, Stanford turn it on to win Jumeirah Pairs by The Brain and Performance Centre

Under the relentless Dubai sun, 80 determined golfers teed it up for the Jumeirah Pairs by The Brain and Performance Centre, a DP World Company, in a spirited showcase of camaraderie at the Jumeirah Golf Estates. The format for the day was a Pairs Combined Stableford, where each golfer played their own ball, and scores were tallied by combining each pair's stableford points per hole. With this format encouraging both consistency and occasional bold shot-making, it made for compelling golf from start to finish. Players were also reminded to pick up if they could no longer score on a hole — a small but strategic twist that kept the pace brisk and competitive. Men played from the specially marked composite tees, while women took on the course from forward tees, setting the stage for a fair and balanced contest. Beyond the main competition, players vied for glory in several on-course challenges, including the ever-popular "Beat the Pro" against Brandon Moodley on Hole 4, as well as Nearest the Pin contests on Holes 6 and 17, and Nearest the Pin in Two on Hole 10. Rising to the occasion in the Beat the Pro challenge was Nick Hymas, who not only bested the pro but would go on to leave his mark on the overall tournament as well. Precision play was on full display throughout the course. Carl Downham took Nearest the Pin honors on Hole 6, while Mitsuko Emmerson showcased her accuracy on Hole 17. On the longer test at Hole 10, Abdulla Darwish earned bragging rights for Nearest the Pin in Two. In the main competition, there was no shortage of drama as scores climbed and leaders jostled for the top spot. In third place were Moustafa Shahin and Eric Shehadeh, finishing strong with a combined 74 points. Just ahead of them, Edward McCullagh and Montek Mayal clinched the runner-up position with a solid 76 points. But it was Nick Hymas and Richard Stanford who truly stole the show. Their outstanding round, marked by sharp iron play, steady putting, and that winning mentality, earned them a superb 80 Stableford points, securing their place as the champions of the May Jumeirah Pairs. Meanwhile, in the Gross Division — judged purely on raw scoring — the team of Ed East and Thomas Kennedy impressed with an excellent total of 60 points, proving that power and precision can go hand in hand. The tournament was proudly sponsored by The Brain and Performance Centre, whose continued support brings an added dimension of excellence and prestige to the event. With another successful day in the books, players and spectators alike are already looking forward to the next edition of this standout fixture on the golfing calendar.
