Sergeant Dave Cooper said: 'Our thoughts are with the family of the man who died and an investigation is ongoing to establish the full circumstances. 'We would also like to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time and may have seen what happened or have dashcam footage that could help.' Anyone with information has been asked to call 101, quoting incident number 3053 of Saturday.

Police have launched an investigation into the crash. A biker has died in a horror crash on a country road in Aberdeenshire. The tragedy occurred at around 6.10pm on June 21, on the B966 Fettercairn to Edzell road at Cairnton of Balbegno on Saturday evening. ‌ The 59-year-old male rider of the blue and white Suzuki GSXR 750 motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene. ‌ His next of kin have been made aware. No other vehicles were involved. The road was closed afterwards, and later reopened at around 12.10am on Sunday, June 22.
