Samsung, Argos and Currys knock down the price of Galaxy earbuds

Three major retailers have a significant price drop on a premium pair of earbuds Three big retailers have slashed the price of a popular pair of earbuds. Galaxy Buds FE are specially designed to fit comfortably into the ears, and they are also noise-cancelling, making them ideal for communicating and wearing to the gym. The Galaxy Buds FE are usually £99 but are currently discounted to £69 at Samsung, Argos and Currys. In terms of the specs, the earbuds are designed with an enriched bass, have a battery life of 30 hours, and feature three microphones for clarity when making calls. They also have a location tracker so owners can find them easily when misplaced. They also have an alarm which goes off when owners accidentally leave them behind. The Galaxy Buds FE are available in white and black at all three retailers: Samsung, Argos, and Currys. Elsewhere, Amazon has a sale on theBeats Fit Pro. Available in black, white, purple, and grey, they are usually £219.99 but are currently on sale from £149. On the Samsung reviews section of the Galaxy Buds FE, one owner said: "The buds are easy to use, connect quickly and last a long time. The sound quality is very good, and they cancel the noise out well." Article continues below An additional buyer encountered issues one week after using them. They commented: "Both earbuds worked great up until this week, the left one has stopped working again, despite regular cleaning, I'm getting virtually no sound out of it."

Amazon, Currys and Argos rival Ninja's June summer sale offers

Ninja has launched a summer sale on its website with discounts on a range of cooking gadgets, including air fryers and electric BBQs Ninja has kicked off a summer sale this June on its website, slashing prices on a variety of cooking gadgets, including air fryers and electric BBQs. Bargain hunters can also find similar deals on some of the same devices at Amazon, Currys and Argos, all of which offer competitive prices. For example, the Foodi MAX Dual Zone Air Fryer, usually priced at £269.99, is currently discounted to £199.99 at Ninja, with Currys matching this sale price. However, it's not currently on offer at Amazon. The Foodi MAX Dual Zone Air Fryer is arguably one of Ninja's most sought-after air fryers, with thousands of customer reviews on the brand's site. One satisfied customer gave it a five-star rating, praising it as 'exceptionally good for all cooking'. Another user gave it a two-star review, explaining that the non-stick coating on their air fryer began to 'flake off' after just 16 days. For a more affordable family-size air fryer, Debenhams has the Alivio 9-litre air fryer for £54, featuring two baskets and eight cooking functions. Another lesser-known Ninja air fryer is the CRISPi 4-in-1 Portable Glass Air Fryer, with an RRP of £174.99. This compact device offers the power of a full-sized model but takes up less space, reports the Express. It's currently on sale at both Amazon and Ninja, but Amazon trumps the brand's own sale, offering it for £124. Ninja has it on sale for £149.99. Consumers who have never bought anything from Ninja can find reviews of the brand's overall performance and quality on Trustpilot. A reviewer who bought an air fryer commented: 'I always wondered what all the fuss was about Ninja and now I know! Huge capacity and easy to use, I love it.' However, another reviewer was not happy with the delivery service, commenting: 'Was meant to be next day delivery. I had to pick it up from the store. Difficulty knowing what was happening with Yodel.' Shoppers can also snag a deal on the original Ninja Creami, typically £199.99, now available for £169 at both Currys and Ninja, with Argos offering an even better price of £165. Lakeland is currently having a sale on its 1.8-litre ice cream maker, usually £50, it is now down to £40. This machine not only churns ice cream but also makes sorbets and frozen yoghurt. Completing the roundup of Ninja's sale is the Woodfire Electric barbecue Grill and Smoker, marked down from its usual price of £299.99 to £229.99 at Amazon and Ninja. The appliance, which doubles as an outdoor electric barbecue grill, smoker, and air fryer featuring seven cooking functions, proudly stands as the UK's top-selling Electric BBQ†. Importantly, it operates without the need for charcoal, gas, or flames.

Five Nintendo Switch 2 settings to change as soon as you fire up your new console

The Nintendo Switch 2, the successor to Nintendo Switch, dropped earlier this month and users can't get enough The Nintendo Switch 2 has launched in the UK and, after a flurry of pre-orders, the newest console is now available to buy. Nintendo may have already sold out of stock, but the Switch 2 may still be free to purchase from other stores. Prices start at £395 and demand has been soaring, with retailers like Currys opening its stores at midnight for gamers to pick up their pre-ordered devices. ‌ The main selling point of the Switch 2 is its upgraded graphics, boosted performance, and a bigger and brighter display. But before you tear into your new system, you may want to adjust your settings for the best experience. ‌ The experts at TechRadar compiled a list of what they see as must-change settings from the get-go. They believe making these tweaks is vital for gamers before settling down for a marathon session on their new console. HDR settings Nintendo's latest console supports HDR, and you can easily toggle this on and off within the settings. Head to Settings > Display > HDR Output and make sure this setting is on by default. A second setting allows you to choose which games it's enabled for. Scroll down in the Display menu, and you'll see another HDR Output option. Select this and choose between 'Always Enabled', 'Compatible Software Only', and 'Disabled'. Switching it on for compatible games instead of the default always-on setting ensures non-compatible games look as good as ever. ‌ Preserve the battery life If you've experienced a battery degradation on your first-generation Nintendo Switch, the Switch 2 offers a setting that caps your battery life at around 90 per cent while it's on charge, which should help your battery long-term. Head to Settings > System > Stop Charging Around 90 per cent. You can easily toggle this on and off any time, so if you want a full charge every now and then for a long day of gaming in handheld mode, it's just a matter of a quick trip to the settings. ‌ Alternatively, you can simply outsource the load and try a portable battery for your Nintendo Switch 2. TV resolution The Nintendo Switch 2 can support screen resolutions up to 4K, although at a 60Hz refresh rate and 60fps for most titles, but you might have different ideas for your new console. Again, head to Settings > Display > TV Resolution. ‌ Within the settings, you can toggle automatic resolution detection or manually set the resolution for your TV, especially handy if you would prefer the higher refresh rates available in 1440p or 1080p resolutions. Change your lock settings You may want to change your Lock Screen settings with the system lock menu. Head to Settings > User , where you can select Skip Selection Screen if you're the only one using the console regularly. ‌ Otherwise, head to Settings > System > Console Lock . Here, you can set a PIN to keep your console exclusive to you, and you can also opt to add parental controls using the dedicated Nintendo Switch Parental Controls app. Activate dark mode To conserve power and give your eyes a break, particularly if you prefer playing handheld, switch to the dark theme over the standard white theme. Navigate to Settings > Themes and select between Basic White and Basic Black. Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community! Currys doubles tech recycling reward as they urge shoppers to bring in unwanted gadgets

Currys is offering shoppers money if they recycle tech through their free scheme - but only for a limited time. With the world becoming more tech -focused over the years, many of us will most likely have unwanted or unused kit lying around our homes taking up space. For those who are unsure of what to do with these items, Currys is offering a recycling scheme to free us from the burden. On top of this, to bring an added incentive for Brits to recycle their unwanted tech, Currys is doubling down on their rewards for those who choose to take part in their cash-for-trash scheme. However, this reward boost is only on a limited time offer. ‌ The electrical giant is offering shoppers £10 off towards a minimum spend of £50 when they hand over any tech with a battery or plug that they no longer have use for. ‌ The original deal is half of this, with shoppers getting £5 off a minimum spend of £25. While this money reward can make a positive dent into your next purchase, shoppers only have until July 8 to take part in the doubled up deal. Currys chief people, communications and sustainability officer Paula Coughlan said: "This limited-time promotion not only incentivises customers to recycle their old tech, but also helps tackle the growing e-waste crisis in the UK. "We're proud to be helping customers save, while making sure their unwanted tech is processed responsibly. It's better for us, better for customers, and better for the planet to help keep tech in the hands of the people that need it for as long as possible." On top of this, customers who have higher value items also have the opportunity to access trade-in deals and get money off their upgraded purchase. Shoppers who have tech lying around at home can go to Currys' website and see if their device qualifies for a trade-in. ‌ Devices that may be eligible include smartphones, laptops, tablets, watches and gaming consoles. After putting in the brand and model of the device, as well as if it was used for personal or business use and the condition of the tech (working or faulty), customers will be given a free and instant estimated value. ‌ Shoppers can also head into their local store for staff to give a valuation and let you know how much your device is worth. From there, shoppers will receive their trade-in value which will be given to in-store customers in the form of an e-gift card. Alternatively, those who conduct an online trade-in will receive the payment into their bank account within three to five working days. ‌ Once in the hands of the Currys staff, they will bring a new lease of life to the old tech by wiping all the data left on the device and either reconditioning it, recycling it or using parts of the tech for repair. Currys will also take in any device even if it wasn't purchased at one of their stores. As long as the tech meets the list of requirements for their 'get a valuation' calculator, they are happy to allow shoppers to trade in any device with their service. However, if the device is too faulty to meet the requirements, shoppers can still use the cash-for-trash service and get £10 off their next purchase. Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community!
