Amazon, Currys and Argos rival Ninja's June summer sale offers

Daily Mirror7 hours ago

Ninja has launched a summer sale on its website with discounts on a range of cooking gadgets, including air fryers and electric BBQs
Ninja has kicked off a summer sale this June on its website, slashing prices on a variety of cooking gadgets, including air fryers and electric BBQs. Bargain hunters can also find similar deals on some of the same devices at Amazon, Currys and Argos, all of which offer competitive prices.
For example, the Foodi MAX Dual Zone Air Fryer, usually priced at £269.99, is currently discounted to £199.99 at Ninja, with Currys matching this sale price. However, it's not currently on offer at Amazon.
The Foodi MAX Dual Zone Air Fryer is arguably one of Ninja's most sought-after air fryers, with thousands of customer reviews on the brand's site. One satisfied customer gave it a five-star rating, praising it as 'exceptionally good for all cooking'.
Another user gave it a two-star review, explaining that the non-stick coating on their air fryer began to 'flake off' after just 16 days. For a more affordable family-size air fryer, Debenhams has the Alivio 9-litre air fryer for £54, featuring two baskets and eight cooking functions.
Another lesser-known Ninja air fryer is the CRISPi 4-in-1 Portable Glass Air Fryer, with an RRP of £174.99. This compact device offers the power of a full-sized model but takes up less space, reports the Express.
It's currently on sale at both Amazon and Ninja, but Amazon trumps the brand's own sale, offering it for £124. Ninja has it on sale for £149.99.
Consumers who have never bought anything from Ninja can find reviews of the brand's overall performance and quality on Trustpilot. A reviewer who bought an air fryer commented: 'I always wondered what all the fuss was about Ninja and now I know! Huge capacity and easy to use, I love it.'
However, another reviewer was not happy with the delivery service, commenting: 'Was meant to be next day delivery. I had to pick it up from the store. Difficulty knowing what was happening with Yodel.'
Shoppers can also snag a deal on the original Ninja Creami, typically £199.99, now available for £169 at both Currys and Ninja, with Argos offering an even better price of £165.
Lakeland is currently having a sale on its 1.8-litre ice cream maker, usually £50, it is now down to £40. This machine not only churns ice cream but also makes sorbets and frozen yoghurt.
Completing the roundup of Ninja's sale is the Woodfire Electric barbecue Grill and Smoker, marked down from its usual price of £299.99 to £229.99 at Amazon and Ninja.
The appliance, which doubles as an outdoor electric barbecue grill, smoker, and air fryer featuring seven cooking functions, proudly stands as the UK's top-selling Electric BBQ†. Importantly, it operates without the need for charcoal, gas, or flames.

EXCLUSIVE Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez's lavish gift to VIP wedding guests revealed

After a two-year engagement, Amazon tycoon Jeff Bezos and former journalist Lauren Sanchez are set to marry next week in Venice, Italy, among a star-studded guest list - and an insider has now revealed that extremely lavish gift that the VIP guests will receive just for attending. An insider told the Daily Mail that Bezos' $500 million superyacht, Koru, will be moored off the coast of San Georgio Maggiore island, which is home to the famous Basilica of San Giorgio Maggiore, a 16th century Benedictine church. They shared that the island is 'off-limits to visitors' from June 24 to June 29, with the mayor of Venice believing that the wedding will take place on the yacht. The Amazon boss has allegedly booked the Scuola Grande della Misericordia, one of the largest and grandest buildings in the historical center of Venice, as part of the multi-day-long extravaganza of celebrations. It's unclear if the space is related to their wedding, but it's booked from June 26 to June 28. The insider added that a private tender service is said to be taking guests from the island to the yacht. The guest list is thought to be intimate, with less than 200 people, and suspected guests including A-listers like Kim Kardashian, Kris Jenner, Katy Perry, Orlando Bloom, and even members of the Trump family. And now, it's been revealed to the Daily Mail by a source in Italy that each guest will be receiving hand-blown glassware by local glassmaker Laguna B. The glassware company was originally created by Marie Brandolini, who left New York in 1988 to live in Venice. Her idea came about after her stepfather gave her a goti de fornasa - a traditional drinking glass crafted by Murano glassmakers - which inspired her to make her own, putting her own spin on it to create something 'new and personal.' Her son later took over the business after she passed in 2013, per Vogue. The handmade glassware features bright colors, stripes, and floral details. All of the glasses have different motifs and designs, with one large-size cup running customers $167. The handmade glassware are not the only things that guests will be coming back home with. The insider told Daily Mail that a wedding planner who is not working this event has heard that guests will receive other 'opulent' gifts for attending. It's unclear what those other gifts will be, but Sanchez is known to be a fan of fun designer purses, like the $5,750 Balenciaga 9AM Coffee Cup Clutch Bag, which she was seen carrying in March. The luxe item is designed as a tote bag shaped like a coffee cup. The Kardashian family also gifted her a designer bag worth nearly $7,000 following her Blue Origin space trip. The gift was a crystal adorned Judith Leiber UFO-inspired bag after she landed back on solid ground. But of course, guests will also be treated to a few other luxurious surprises during their time in Italy for the wedding. The source confirmed to the Daily Mail that local bakery Rosa Salva Venetia will be providing pastries for the extravagant weekend. The delicious menu items at the bakery include tiramisu, flaky, cream-filled pastries, and fritelli, a traditional Italian fried treat. However, Rosa Salva Venetia will not be providing the wedding cake for the loved-up couple. It looks like all of this opulence is thanks to Sanchez herself, as her hubby-to-be revealed in a 2023 Vogue interview that he wouldn't dare get involved with wedding planning. 'Oh, God, no. Do I look that dumb?' Bezos told the outlet when he was asked if he had a big part in the preparations. During the interview, the future Mrs. Bezos listed Christian Dior, Dolce & Gabbana, and Valentino as some of her favorite designers, but didn't share anything about which one will make her gown - or gowns, for that matter. Separate sources recently told the Daily Mail that the festivities are expected to cost anywhere from $15 to $20 million. Many things went into the estimate of the total cost, including transportation fees, her wedding dress and catering.

Amazon investigated over breach of code on payments to suppliers

Amazon is being investigated by a government regulator over claims it mistreated suppliers by delaying payments to them. The Groceries Code Adjudicator said it had launched a 'targeted investigation'' because it had 'reasonable grounds to suspect'' the technology and retail giant had breached rules governing fair payment of suppliers. It said it had received 'evidence from a range of sources'. The regulator, which has the power to levy a fine up to 1 per cent of a retailer's UK turnover, said it had also received information about other alleged issues at Amazon. These are understood to include how suppliers are 'de-listed', or dropped, and payments made to Amazon by suppliers. • Amazon to cut jobs as AI takes over white-collar roles The adjudicator regulates the relationship between the UK's largest grocery retailers and their direct suppliers. The Amazon investigation is only the adjudicator's third since the office was established in 2013. Its rules governing payments say that bills must be settled according to the terms of the agreement between supplier and grocer 'and, in any case, within a reasonable time after' the invoice date. The adjudicator said the Amazon investigation will focus on the 'nature, extent and impact of practices which may have resulted in delays in payments including Amazon's receipt of goods and payment processes, its processes for managing supplier concerns relating to deductions from payments, and its use of settlements of deductions in its commercial negotiations with suppliers'. Mark White, the adjudicator, said: 'Delays in payment can significantly harm suppliers. The alleged delays could expose Amazon suppliers to excessive risk and unexpected costs, potentially affecting their ability to invest and innovate.' The regulator has carried out two investigations, the first into Tesco in 2015 and the second into the Co-op in 2018. It has not used its powers to fine, although these only came into force for breaches after April 2015, so could not be used against Tesco. An Amazon spokeswoman said the company took the rules 'incredibly seriously and we will co-operate fully with the adjudicator as he carries out his investigation'. 'While we are disappointed with this decision, we welcome the opportunity to further demonstrate our ongoing compliance,' she said. The adjudicator governs rules which apply to retailers with UK annual groceries turnover exceeding £1 billion. Its description of groceries includes pet food, toiletries and cleaning and other household products as well as food and drink.
