Visakhapatnam: US Consul General in Hyderabad Jennifer Larson emphasised the importance of volunteerism to maintain the city clean and beautiful. She was speaking at a beach clean-up programme organised as part of the 'Community Day' observance by the American Corner at Andhra University at Rushikonda Beach on Saturday morning. The US Consul General participated in a beach clean-up activity, collected litter along with students and volunteers. She appreciated the enthusiastic participation of the volunteers, students, and local citizens, underlining the collaborative efforts that help yield positive results for environmental initiatives. Taking part in the cleanup drive, Andhra University Vice-Chancellor GP Rajasekhar noted that programmes like these contribute significantly to maintaining cleanliness at beaches.
