Shedeur Sanders pays speeding tickets, addresses citations at Browns event
Shedeur Sanders has been living life in the fast lane during the month of June. While the quarterback is battling for the Cleveland Browns starting quarterback job on the field, he's been speeding off of it. Sanders was ticketed for speeding on two separate occasions in June, according to court records. As of Friday morning, both tickets have been paid. Sanders paid $269 in fines and court fees on June 20 to settle his ticket from a June 5 incident, according to records from Medina, Ohio. In addition, the quarterback paid $250 in fines and court costs for his June 17 speeding ticket, which also cost him four points on his license, according to the Strongsville Mayor's Court Online Docketing and Ticket Payment System. Sanders addressed the incidents at Browns tight end David Njoku's celebrity softball game. 'I've made some wrong choices,' Sanders said with a laugh. 'I gotta own up to them. ... I learn from them.' Sanders was cited for driving 101 mph in a 60 mph speed limit zone in Strongsville, Ohio at around 12:30 a.m. on June 17, according to court records from Medina, Ohio. It was the second incident involving the 23-year-old's speed in June, with the other coming on June 5 in Brunswick, Ohio, where he was ticketed for driving 91 mph in a 65 mph zone. He later failed to appear in court for the first ticket on June 16, leaving $269 outstanding in fines and court costs for the former Colorado quarterback to deal with. Team spokesman Peter John-Baptiste told on Thursday, "He is taking care of the tickets." Up to this point, Sanders has been mostly in the news for good reasons. He's been involved in the community and hasn't let his draft slide dominate the offseason. After falling to the fifth round of the 2025 NFL Draft, Sanders was eventually selected with the 144th overall pick. He's battling Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett and Dillon Gabriel for the starting gig — and a roster spot. While a pair of speeding tickets won't cost him the job, Sanders will want to return everyone's attention to his work on the field rather than any potential issues off of it. Rookies are set to report to Browns training camp on July 18 in Berea, Ohio.

Shedeur Sanders cited for speeding twice in June amid Browns QB battle
Cleveland Browns rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders was cited by police on Tuesday morning for driving 101 mph, 40 mph over the speed limit. It turns out that Tuesday's infraction was not his first. According to Medina, Ohio court records Sanders received another citation in June. The first came on June 5 in Brunswick, Ohio where the former Colorado star quarterback was cited for going 91 mph in a 65 mph zone. Browns officials told that Sanders' "is taking care of the tickets." Sanders is squarely in the middle of a hard fought quarterback competition. He has pefermored well during spring practices, but only being a fifth round pick makes any negative feel like it could cost him a chance at playing meaningful football. At a Thursday afternoon charity softball game, Sanders attempted to apologize for his actions admitting, "I've made some wrong choices." The half-hearted apology does not seem like a concerted effort to improve his off field actions, but in the grand scheme of "things"incidents" a speeding ticket is very low on the totem pole. Whether Sanders learns from his two speeding tickets and fully owns up to his mistakes remains to be seen, but any off-field transgression will be under the spotlight considering his name and already highly publicizied first few months in the NFL. "We want to win the marathon" – Guardians' manager explains why he is prioritizing long-term strategy over short-term win
Image Source: Getty The Cleveland Guardians are struggling to score runs, but manager Stephen Vogt sticks to his plan. In a interview, he shared why he rests key players like Steven Kwan and Carlos Santana. His focus is on keeping the team strong for the whole MLB season. Here is a close look at Vogt's rest strategy and the team's offensive issues. Stephen Vogt's rest strategy explained Stephen Vogt believes giving his top players a break is important, even when the team is losing. He plans lineups five or six games ahead, thinking about matchups and player health, but doesn't let recent losses change his decisions. In the interview, he said, 'It's hard to give your everyday players a day off, but you have to stay diligent to it because it's a marathon. I try not to let our won-loss record affect that because you have to stick to those plans. If you start chasing every single day, then the plan's not going to work because you're never going to end up giving anybody a day off … We want to win the marathon. We're here to get into the playoffs and win the World Series.' This is why he rested Kwan and Santana in games against the Yankees and Astros. Even after a 0-4 loss to the Yankees and two close losses to the Astros, Vogt keeps his eyes on the playoffs. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Skype Phone Alternative Undo He plans to keep players fresh for a big postseason push, even if it's tough now. Also Read: Colton Gordon's electric debut fuels Astros' victory over Guardians Offensive woes raise concerns The Guardians' offense is in a slump, scoring just 2.5 runs per game in June, down from 4.3 in May. That makes them one of the worst teams in the American League this month which is a big problem. In their last game against the Astros they were 1-10 with runners in scoring position and left 12 on base. Vogt's decisions like resting Jose Ramirez and starting Will Wilson at 3B haven't paid off yet. They've lost 3 in a row including 4-2 and 5-3 to the Astros. As the season goes on finding the balance between resting players and scoring runs is key for the Guardians' playoff hopes. They need their bats to come alive soon to turn it around and stay in the hunt.

Shedeur Sanders says '99%' of scrutiny during NFL draft came from Deion Sanders critics
Much has been written and said about Shedeur Sanders' draft slide, and many people view Deion Sanders as the main culprit. The former Colorado quarterback and current Cleveland Browns rookie recently spent a morning at a local Cleveland area high school giving life advice and answering the younger generation's questions. Sanders also talked about his draft slide and how, perhaps, his father and his father's fans were the root cause of all the criticism. Advertisement "They don't care about other people's opinion of you," Sanders said during an interview with "They go based off their own — 99% of hatred [directed at me] is toward pops. And then I'm just his son. But [the kids] didn't grow up in an era where they watched him play. It's just the older generation that does it rather than the younger people. Because when I come in person, there's no negativity I see. But it's all over online." A big reason why Sanders is excited to immerse himself in the Cleveland and NFL communities is that he can shape his own narrative, one that does not start with his dad. "That's why I like going [to schools] in person and actually meeting them, and any questions they have, I say, 'Just ask me whatever question you want. Pick any question. No filter, no anything.' That's what they say. And then I just answer whatever they need me to answer." Sanders' draft process was anything but smooth. The three-day wait included him getting passed over multiple times by quarterback-needy teams and a cruel prank call from a college student imitating New Orleans Saints general manager Mickey Loomis. Advertisement Cleveland Browns rookie minicamp finished up earlier this month, and Sanders seems to have moved on from the draft. His sole focus is on winning the four-man quarterback battle in Cleveland. Follow Charlie Strella on X, Threads, and Instagram.
