Shedeur Sanders cited for speeding twice in June amid Browns QB battle

USA Today6 hours ago

Cleveland Browns rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders was cited by police on Tuesday morning for driving 101 mph, 40 mph over the speed limit. It turns out that Tuesday's infraction was not his first.
According to Medina, Ohio court records Sanders received another citation in June. The first came on June 5 in Brunswick, Ohio where the former Colorado star quarterback was cited for going 91 mph in a 65 mph zone.
Browns officials told Cleveland.com that Sanders' "is taking care of the tickets."
Sanders is squarely in the middle of a hard fought quarterback competition. He has pefermored well during spring practices, but only being a fifth round pick makes any negative feel like it could cost him a chance at playing meaningful football.
At a Thursday afternoon charity softball game, Sanders attempted to apologize for his actions admitting, "I've made some wrong choices."
The half-hearted apology does not seem like a concerted effort to improve his off field actions, but in the grand scheme of "things"incidents" a speeding ticket is very low on the totem pole.
Whether Sanders learns from his two speeding tickets and fully owns up to his mistakes remains to be seen, but any off-field transgression will be under the spotlight considering his name and already highly publicizied first few months in the NFL.

Adam Schefter reveals bad news for potential Jalen Ramsey, Steelers trade

The Jalen Ramsey-to-Pittsburgh train may be coming to a halt — as prominent insider Adam Schefter revealed some troubling news for a potential Steelers trade. On a recent episode of The Pat McAfee Show, Schefter was asked if there were any more rumors he could shed light on — and he chose to address the Ramsey situation: "The Dolphins continue to have conversations about trading Jalen Ramsey," Schefter said. "And I think that a trade there will get done. The question is, when does it get done? Does it get done next week, the week after, prior to the start of training camp? I don't know exactly when it's gonna be — but Jalen Ramsey will get traded. It'll be, I would expect, before the start of training camp. We'll see how it shakes out — where he goes. I think he would like to go to the West Coast, to Los Angeles — Rams, Chargers, somewhere like that." The Rams were previously linked as a trade suitor for Ramsey, but the Chargers also seem like a solid fit for the Dolphins cornerback — much to the dismay of Pittsburgh. All speculation and rumors should be taken with a grain of salt, as it was previously reported that DK Metcalf wanted to stay on the West Coast — right before he was traded to the Steelers. Oklahoma Sooners predicted to land commitment from 2026 4-Star QB Bowe Bentley

Oklahoma insider @Josh_Scoop has logged an expert prediction for the Sooners to land elite QB Bowe Bentley⭕️Bentley ranks No. 41 NATL. (No. 5 QB) in the 2026 The Oklahoma Sooners quarterback situation in the 2026 recruiting class is beginning to gain some clarity. On Thursday night four-star quarterback Jaden O'Neal decommitted from the Sooners. And now, the Sooners have apparently taken the lead for four-star quarterback Bowe Bentley. Without a commitment date in sight, the Sooners are battling with Brian Kelly and the LSU Tigers for one of the fastest-rising players in the 2026 cycle. Josh McCuistion, who covers recruiting for SoonerScoop and On3 (subscription required), issued a prediction favoring the Oklahoma Sooners ahead of this weekend's ChampU BBQ. It's the first prediction logged from any site for Bentley, who saw his recruitment take off after participating in the Navy All-American game in January. He has 20 Power Four offers, most of which came in the last six months. Bentley had a phenomenal junior season for Celina, throwing for 47 touchdowns to just seven interceptions. He also rushed for 16 touchdowns in an undefeated, state championship season. Oklahoma offered Bentley on January 24 and have made him a priority over the last six months. He's drawn comparisons to new Oklahoma quarterback John Mateer, and there's a lot to like about his dual-threat game. If the Sooners can lock up a commitment from the talented prospect out of Texas, they'll get one of the more prolific quarterbacks in the cycle. WATCH: Ohio State incoming transfer Christoph Tilly is already balling in Columbus

The Ohio State basketball program went through an extreme makeover after the disappointing season last year. The Buckeyes kept the likes of Bruce Thornton, Devin Royal, and John Mobley Jr., but they lost others who were thought to be key pieces of the future when OSU got them prior. So, head coach Jake Diebler and the staff had to retool a bit and try to bring in the talent and pieces they thought could build momentum to get back to the NCAA Tournament this year and lay a foundation for getting the team back among one of the best in the Big Ten and country. One of those keys was to bring in a big man, but not just any big man. Today's game almost necessitates a guy who can go both inside and out for spacing on the floor and forced matchups from the other sideline. To do that, Ohio State went out and convinced former Santa Clara big man, Christop Tilly to come to Columbus out of the transfer portal. We've already heard from Dielber on what he brings to the table, but now we have some highlights of him balling out in some of the controlled scrimmages the OSU basketball team has been going through. By the looks of the video shared on the Ohio State Hoops "X" account, it sure feels like Tilly should provide Ohio State with some scoring, athleticism, and needed stretching of opposing Big Ten defenses next year. Take a look for yourself below. There's a lot of optimism in Columbus because of Tilly and the other pieces that have been brought in, but it all means absolutely nothing until the team shows what it can do on the floor when things tip off this winter. Let's hope what we're hearing from the coaches and players unfolds the way they -- and fans -- would like.
