A motorcyclist died following an early morning road traffic collision in Co Armagh. The two-vehicle collision occurred in the Tandragee area of Craigavon shortly after 8am on Thursday. The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) received and responded to a report of a collision involving a motorcycle and a Renault Scenic car at Mullahead Road at around 8.13am. The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service dispatched three emergency ambulance crews, one Rapid Response Paramedic and the Charity Air Ambulance with HEMS on board were also tasked to the incident. Despite the best efforts of the medical personnel, a 25-year-old male motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. Road closures were in place for some time but the Mullahead Road has since reopened, while a closure remains in place at Ballymore Road The PSNI have appealed to anyone who witnessed the incident to contact them. AN American woman has died after a single-vehicle collision in Northern Ireland. Police said that pedestrian Allison Eichner, aged in her 40s and from Connecticut, died after the crash in the Causeway Road area of Bushmills on Wednesday. 1 A woman from the United States has died in a crash in Antrim Credit: PA:Press Association A person was arrested as part of the police response. Detective Inspector Cherith Adair said: 'Police received and responded to a report of a collision shortly before 12.30pm. 'Colleagues from the emergency services also attended the scene. 'A female pedestrian aged in her 40s was taken to hospital by colleagues from the emergency services, however she sadly died from her injuries. READ MORE IN NEWS 'One person was arrested at the scene, and remains in custody at this time, assisting with enquiries. 'Detectives from the Collision Investigation Unit are conducting enquiries to establish the circumstances of the collision, and would ask anyone who might have information which could assist to get in touch. 'The number to call is 101, quoting reference number 683 of 11/06/25.' Forensic Collision Investigators are currently examining the scene and local traffic diversions are in place. Most read in Irish News The local coroner has been notified and arrangements will be made for a post-mortem examination. Gardai are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward with information. In a statement this afternoon, a garda spokesperson said: "Road users who may have relevant camera footage (including dash-cam) and were traveling in the area at the time are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardai. DUBLIN CRASH Separately, a cyclist was killed after being struck by a van in Lucan, Co Dublin early this morning The 19-year-old received treatment at the scene before being rushed to Tallaght Hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later. Gardai were alerted to the collision shortly after 7:30am this morning. The cyclist was struck by the van at the junction of Griffeen Avenue, R136 and the Balgaddy Road. No other injuries were reported as a result of the incident. Gardai launched an investigation into the fatal collision. Anyone with information is asked to contact Lucan Garda Station at (01) 666 7300, the Garda Confidential Line at 1800 666 111, or any Garda station." ROAD COLLISIONS The fatal collisions brings to 74 the number of fatalities on Irish roads this year, compared to 78 at the same time last year. An elderly cyclist died in Co Kerry yesterday after being struck by a vehicle on the R569 road, Church Grounds in Kilgarvan just after 1:40 pm. Gardai and emergency services rushed to the scene after the alarm was raised. The cyclist, a male in his 80s, was pronounced dead at the scene. The Coroner was informed and a post-mortem examination was carried out.
