AN American woman has died after a single-vehicle collision in Northern Ireland.
Police said that pedestrian Allison Eichner, aged in her 40s and from Connecticut, died after the crash in the Causeway Road area of Bushmills on Wednesday.

A person was arrested as part of the police response.
Detective Inspector Cherith Adair said: 'Police received and responded to a report of a collision shortly before 12.30pm.
'Colleagues from the emergency services also attended the scene.
'A female pedestrian aged in her 40s was taken to hospital by colleagues from the emergency services, however she sadly died from her injuries.

'One person was arrested at the scene, and remains in custody at this time, assisting with enquiries.
'Detectives from the Collision Investigation Unit are conducting enquiries to establish the circumstances of the collision, and would ask anyone who might have information which could assist to get in touch.
'The number to call is 101, quoting reference number 683 of 11/06/25.'
Forensic Collision Investigators are currently examining the scene and local traffic diversions are in place.

The local coroner has been notified and arrangements will be made for a post-mortem examination.
Gardai are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward with information.
In a statement this afternoon, a garda spokesperson said: "Road users who may have relevant camera footage (including dash-cam) and were traveling in the area at the time are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardai.
DUBLIN CRASH
Separately, a cyclist was killed after being struck by a van in Lucan, Co Dublin early this morning
The 19-year-old received treatment at the scene before being rushed to Tallaght Hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
Gardai were alerted to the collision shortly after 7:30am this morning.
The cyclist was struck by the van at the junction of Griffeen Avenue, R136 and the Balgaddy Road.
No other injuries were reported as a result of the incident.
Gardai launched an investigation into the fatal collision.

ROAD COLLISIONS
The fatal collisions brings to 74 the number of fatalities on Irish roads this year, compared to 78 at the same time last year.
An elderly cyclist died in Co Kerry yesterday after being struck by a vehicle on the R569 road, Church Grounds in Kilgarvan just after 1:40 pm.
Gardai and emergency services rushed to the scene after the alarm was raised.
The cyclist, a male in his 80s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Coroner was informed and a post-mortem examination was carried out.

There were tearful scenes today at the funeral of a tragic dad who died in a serious road traffic incident involving an e-scooter. Mourners gathered at Saint Josephs Church, Poppintree, Dublin to pay their respects to Jack Goss, who died from his injuries a day after the accident on Father's Day last Sunday. Jack was described as a "kind hearted dad" who brought so much joy and love to his family. Jack, from Poppintree in Ballymun, Dublin 9 was seriously injured on Father's Day, Sunday, June 15 following the horror collision on the Cappagh Road in Finglas, Dublin 11. He was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken by ambulance to Connolly Hospital in Blanchardstown but sadly passed away on Monday, June 16. In his death notice on it stated Jack is the 'beloved son of Michael and Helena and brother of Alex and Catherine, partner of Hannah and Daddy to Romee Rose.' His heartbroken family said in Jack's death notice that "He brought to their lives so much love, kindness and joy. "Jack's incredible spirit and big heart will forever be missed and lovingly remembered by his family, friends, loved ones and his community whom he loved. Jack's infectious spirit, fun and love touched so many. His legacy lives on in his precious baby girl and all who loved him." Mourners were invited to make donations in lieu of flowers to the local Aisling Project in Poppintree and Ballymun who educate and provide life skills to young people. Meanwhile, tributes continue to be paid to Jack with one mourner writing in the condolence section on "My heart broke to hear the awful news about Jack. He was so polite, kind and caring, an absolute credit to his parents, he will be sadly missed by so many." Another wrote: "RIP Jack, grateful I knew you like I did," and another wrote: "A gentle giant with a heart of gold. We will forever cherish all our memories of you. Rest peacefully Jack." Gardai continue to appeal for witnesses to the serious road traffic collision as investigations are ongoing. "Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of the incident involving an e-scooter shortly after 5pm on Sunday, June 15. The male, aged in his 20s, travelling on the e-scooter who was brought to Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown to be treated for serious injuries has since passed away. "Investigating Gardaí continue to appeal for witnesses to come forward. Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling on the Cappagh Road area between Heathfield and Cappagh Hospital between 4.45pm and 5.05pm on Sunday and may have camera footage are asked to make it available," the statement said. Irishman behind bar after €110m cocaine bust arrest as Portuguese cops swoop on drug smuggling yacht in Atlantic Ocean
AN Irish national has been arrested after Portuguese cops and military swooped on a yacht carrying more than 1.5 tonnes of cocaine. In the lengthy statement, the Portuguese police force said: 'With the support of the Portuguese Navy, we launched an operation to combat international drug trafficking by sea. Mike Lynch's superyacht fully raised above water for first time since it sank
Tech tycoon Mike Lynch's superyacht has been fully raised above water for the first time since it sank off the coast of Sicily. Seven people died when the Bayesian sank off the Italian island on August 19, including billionaire Mr Lynch, 59, and his daughter Hannah, 18. The 56-metre (184ft) yacht was seen being held above the water by one of Europe's most powerful sea cranes near the fishing town of Porticello on Saturday afternoon. The yacht's propeller, rudder and keel all appeared to be intact. It was then lowered again slightly, and salvage crews say that on Sunday it will be moved to Termini Imerese – where Italian prosecutors investigating the sinking are based. On Saturday morning, workers could be seen on the vessel, which is covered in mud and algae, while the canopy and guard rails are mangled. The full word 'Bayesian' could be seen on the stern of the yacht, and a ladder, which Italian coastguard officials say was originally on the ship to allow passengers to disembark, was seen cracked and pointed upwards on the starboard side. Also visible on the top deck was the stump of the mast. Salvage workers say there were 18,000 litres of fuel on board. Investigators in the UK and Italy say raising the vessel is crucial to fully understanding what happened. Balloon-like kit will be used to lift the Bayesian's mast, a project insider said. The yacht's 72-metre (236ft) mast was cut off on Tuesday using a remote-controlled tool and rested on the seabed. Meanwhile, Michele Maltese, of the Italian coastguard, told reporters that thermal cameras were used to check for any potential fuel leaks. A local law investigator was also at the scene, he said. Marcus Cave of British firm TMC Marine, which is overseeing the salvage efforts, said: 'This was a complex and precise lifting operation to recover Bayesian, and followed a step-by-step programme of salvage work. 'The salvage team has progressed in a systematic way that prioritised the safety of all working on site and minimised any potential impact on the environment. 'This care for personnel and for the environment will continue as Bayesian is transported into port tomorrow.' The vessel was originally expected to be raised last month, but salvage efforts were delayed after a diver died during underwater work on May 9, prompting greater use of remote-controlled equipment. Water is pumped off Mike Lynch's superyacht the Bayesian as it is lifted to the surface near Porticello, Sicily (Peter Byrne/PA) About 70 specialist personnel had been mobilised to Porticello from across Europe to work on the recovery operation, which began last month. Inquest proceedings in the UK are looking at the deaths of Mr Lynch and his daughter, as well as Morgan Stanley International bank chairman Jonathan Bloomer, 70, and his wife, Judy Bloomer, 71, who were all British nationals. Marine Accident Investigation Branch investigators said in an interim report that the Bayesian was knocked over by 'extreme wind'. The yacht had a vulnerability to winds, but the owner and crew would not have known, the report said. US lawyer Chris Morvillo and his wife Neda Morvillo, and Canadian-Antiguan national Recaldo Thomas, who was working as a chef on the vessel, also died in the sinking. Fifteen people, including Mr Lynch's wife, Angela Bacares, were rescued. Mr Lynch and his daughter were said to have lived in the vicinity of London, and the Bloomers lived in Sevenoaks in Kent. The tycoon founded software giant Autonomy in 1996 and was cleared in June last year of carrying out a massive fraud over the sale of the firm to Hewlett-Packard (HP) in 2011. The boat trip was a celebration of his acquittal in the case in the US.
