Aston Martin DBX S: Check out 5 key highlights of the refreshed luxury SUV

The Aston Martin DBX S has a refreshed front fascia with an aggressive splitter. Aston Martin has reimagined its luxury SUV offering with the debut of the DBX S, following the discontinuation of the standard DBX variant last year. With the DBX707 continuing as the sole option due to its stronger performance appeal, the new DBX S takes that formula further. It combines mechanical refinements, enhanced aerodynamics, advanced technology, and a stronger focus on light-weighting — all to deliver a driving experience that's even more exhilarating and exclusive. 2 Customisation options Beyond performance, the DBX S takes a deeper engineering approach toward optimising weight balance. With the carmaker's strong emphasis on lightweight components, the vehicle becomes more agile and poised in both cornering and high-speed cruising. The available lightweight parts include the optional carbon-fibre roof, which is not just aesthetic but highly functional, being the largest single-piece carbon fibre component ever used by Aston Martin. Complementing this are 23-inch magnesium alloy wheels, which reduce unsprung mass by 18.5 kg, significantly improving ride quality and agility. Even the new grille, inspired by the limited-run DBS 770 Ultimate, is designed to remove front-end weight, thereby improving weight distribution and steering response. However, these design and weight-saving components are optional and not part of the base configuration. 3 Engine and performance Under the hood lies a recalibrated 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8, now tuned to deliver 717 bhp, a modest yet meaningful bump over the DBX707. The improvement comes via turbocharging technology derived from Aston Martin's Valhalla supercar, allowing more efficient boost delivery and higher peak output. As a result, the SUV is plunged from 0 to 100 kmph in just 3.1 seconds and 0 to 200 kmph is also quicker than before, however, the exact figures have not been disclosed. The SUV reaches a top speed of 307 kmph. This performance SUV maintains its explosive straight-line speed while gaining better thermal and mechanical efficiency, thanks to its enhanced forced induction system. 4 Handling and gearbox While power is important, how that power is delivered matters even more and the DBX S doesn't disappoint. Aston Martin engineers have re-tuned the 9-speed automatic transmission for faster gear changes, especially when the vehicle is in Sport or Sport+ mode. This translates to crisper throttle response and better driver engagement. The steering setup has also been recalibrated, now offering sharper inputs and improved feedback, making the large SUV feel lighter and more connected. The DBX S feels significantly more responsive during spirited driving. To back up its explosive power, the SUV comes with massive carbon-ceramic brakes. The front discs measure 16.5 inches whereas the rear discs are sized 15.3 inches. These ensure confident and fade-free braking performance, even under extreme stress. Aston Martin DBX S launched with engine upgrades and new features. Check details

The Aston Martin DBX S gets a brash and athletic face. The refreshed front fascia is characteristised by a more aggressive splitter and a less pronounced rear wing diffuser Aston Martin has refreshed its DBX range yet again for both performance and refinement. Following the discontinuation of the standard DBX trim last year owing to poor demand, the more powerful DBX707 remained as the only option. The carmaker has now launched the DBX S, a new trim that further develops the 707's base with minor mechanical adjustments, new design cues, and more emphasis on light-weighting. Aston Martin DBX S: Design The Aston Martin DBX S gets a brash and athletic face. The refreshed front fascia is characteristised by a more aggressive splitter and a less pronounced rear wing diffuser. But it was truly the reimagined exhaust system, stacked vertical dual tips at each corner, that were a bold departure from convention. Also Read : Aston Martin Vanquish Volante makes global debut. Here's what makes it special Furthermore, Aston Martin's weight saving measures are also equally impressive; the optional 23-inch magnesium wheels save 18.5 kg, and the carbon roof — the largest single carbon piece ever applied to an Aston Martin — provides additional weight savings. Even the grille is new, as it takes inspiration from the DBS 770 Ultimate and removes weight at the nose to improve weight distribution. The caveat is that everything mentioned is optional and not included on the standard model. Aston Martin DBX S: Features The Aston Martin DBX S gets an improved in-house infotainment system with seamless wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, over-the-air updates, and increased connected services. A 14-speaker Aston Martin Premium Audio system is standard, with an optional 23-speaker Bowers & Wilkins surround system, specifically tuned for the DBX S cabin. Aston Martin DBX S: Specifications Powering the DBX S is a recalibrated version of Aston Martin's twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8. Borrowing turbo tech from the Valhalla supercar, output climbs to 717 bhp. While the 0–100 kmph sprint remains at a blistering 3.1 seconds, the DBX S shaves valuable tenths off its 0–200 kmph time. The company further claims a top speed of 307 kmph. Interestingly, the DBX S is not just about straight-line speed. Aston Martin retuned the SUV's nine-speed transmission for faster, crisper shifts in Sport and Sport+ modes. Steering responsiveness has also been tightened, making the DBX S feel more connected and agile. Braking is handled by massive carbon-ceramic discs — 16.5 inches up front and 15.3 inches at the rear — ensuring that the SUV's immense power is matched by equally capable stopping performance. Aston Martin Reveals Its Most Powerful And Fastest SUV

Aston Martin DBX S Aston Martin The DBX 707 was breathtakingly fast for an SUV, but the luxury British giant has upped the game with its latest Aston Martin DBX S. The DBX 707 produced 697bhp and 900Nm giving it a 310bhp/tonne power-to-weight figure, the same as a KTM X-Bow. It cracked 0-to-62mph in 3.3 seconds and barrelled to 193mph. The new DBX S produces 717bhp, a 20bhp difference, while the torque and 0-to-62mph digits remain unchanged. 0-to-124mph is 0.3 seconds quicker than the DBX 707. It can sing, too. Aston Martin claims the modified exhaust system amplifies and adds character 'the natural voice of the thunderous V8 engine'. Likewise, a more aggressive shift pattern nestled within its modified nine-speed 'wet clutch' auto gearbox combined with a four-wheel drive system, means it can duck and dive around corners quicker. It's not all brawn. The new DBX S is lighter thanks to a carbon fiber roof, the largest unit ever fitted to an Aston Martin, which saves 18kg alone. Sadly, this means no roof rails, so that holiday might need to wait. Aston Martin DBX S Aston Martin To aid the DBX S weight loss, you can even spec massive 23-inch alloy wheels. These remove a further 19kg and deliver 'improvements in ride quality, steering precision and feel' claims Aston Martin. In total, this means a 47kg saving over the DBX 707, tipping the scales at 2,198kg. Assisting the DBX S with quicker steering is a four per cent faster ratio, which also reduces the turning circle to 12m. The DBX S also benefits from Aston Martin's latest suspension updates including revised spring and damper settings. It also features 420mm/390mm carbon ceramic discs front and back. Aston Martin has also given the DBX S a more aggressive look by adding a new grille, front splitter and diffuser, new sills with integrated air splitters and a reprofiled rear bumper with stacked exhaust pipes. Inside is filled with lots of S badging, Alcantara, an 800W stereo with 14 speakers and Aston Martin's newest infotainment. ''S' has long had an association with Aston Martin, and DBX S proves that lighter variants with more power and performance are still very much part of the marque's story, and are set to last into the foreseeable future.' The Aston Martin DBX S is priced from £210,000 ($281,039) and deliveries are expected in Q5 2025. Aston Martin DBX S Aston Martin

Aston Martin DBX S Breaks Cover With More Powerful V8

The Aston Martin DBX was launched as the brand's first SUV in 2021. At the time, the SUV had two versions, among which the base variant had a 542 hp output. However, this iteration of the SUV was dropped last year, leaving the DBX 707 as the only option. Now, pushing things up a notch, the automaker has launched an even more power-packed version of the vehicle called the DBX S. The Aston Martin DBX S houses the same 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine with a plug-in hybrid system. To squeeze out more power from the unit, the brand has now added turbochargers with a larger compressor wheel. This adds 20 extra ponies, resulting in 717 hp of power. Using this power, the SUV can accelerate from zero to 100 kmph in 3.3 seconds. Meanwhile, the top speed is the same as the other iteration of the SUV, limited to 310 kmph. With this, the SUV is only second to the Lamborghini Urus SE in terms of performance. Also Read: Renault Boreal Name Reserved For 7-Seater Duster: Details Mechanically, a few things remain the same. The SUV continues to have an all-wheel-drive system with 50 percent torque reserved for the front wheels, while up to 100 percent can be utilised by the rear wheels. Additionally, it uses the same nine-speed automatic transmission. Meanwhile, the exhaust system has changed to an exhaust note. Contributing to performance is the reduced weight of the car. However, these come in the form of optional elements. Specifically, the car now gets a carbon-fiber roof, which is now the largest carbon-fiber piece fitted to an Aston Martin. Furthermore, the car can have 23-inch magnesium wheels, which save 19 kg when compared to the 23-inch forged aluminium wheels. There will also be an option of a polycarbonate grille. To give it a distinguishable identity, the Aston Martin DBX S gets a black grille black, and the front bumper has a new splitter paired with revised side sills with a prominent S badge on the front fender. At the rear end, the bumper and diffuser have been redesigned to give space for the vertically stacked quad exhaust pipes. The buyers have an option to have Rosso Corsa Red, Trophy Silver, or Podium Green exterior accents. On the inside, there are new seats with a herringbone design that can be used on the headliner as well. The cabin is upholstered in Alcantara, while the seats also include semi-aniline leather, which can be used to replace the Alcantara in the cabin. To signify its uniqueness, it has an 'S' logo embroidered on the seats, sill plates, and engine plaque. Uplifting the feel of the cabin is a 14-speaker sound system, which can be upgraded to a 23-speaker Bowers & Wilkins system.
