Tesla's new Model S and X vehicles are now available in the US
Tesla has officially launched new versions of the Model S and the Model X in the US. As Electrek notes, however, the upgrades may not be quite as big or compelling as one could hope when the vehicles now cost $5,000 more. The automaker has posted a list of updates for the vehicles on X, including a new Frost Blue paint color option and a range of up to 410 miles for the Model S Long Range version, which is Tesla's longest range yet. Getting the Frost Blue paint will cost buyers $2,500 more, however, and the new range is only 5 miles longer than the previous versions. The company said the vehicles are now quieter inside, thanks to a more effective Active Noise Cancellation feature, and that their interiors now come with dynamic ambient lighting with unique animations. They can run more smoothly due to their new bushings and suspension design, and their new wheel designs enable the longer range. In addition, the models now have a new front bumper camera for better visibility, as well as adaptive driving beams. Model S Plaid's new exterior styling was apparently optimized for high-speed stability. Meanwhile, Model X now has more space for third row passengers and cargo. Take note that the base vehicles come with 19-inch wheels, but customers can upgrade with 20-to-22-inch wheels for $4,500 more. Tesla only sold approximately 50,000 Model S and X vehicles around the world last year, whereas it delivered over 1.7 million Model 3 and Model Y vehicles. The latest updates allow users to capture high-quality vocals on the go, even in noisy environments, thanks to enhanced Voice Isolation and beamforming microphones, an Apple newsroom report said. Hands-free camera control for effortless content creation Additionally, Apple introduced a remote camera control feature. This feature aims to simplify hands-free content creation, especially for users recording themselves singing, dancing, or performing. 'With these updates, AirPods are becoming an even more powerful tool for creators and communicators,' Apple said in a statement. The enhancements are expected to roll out in an upcoming software update later this year. Apple Intelligence expands across devices On the same day, Apple also announced new Apple Intelligence features designed to enhance the user experience across iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, and Apple Vision Pro. Apple Intelligence introduces capabilities such as Live Translation, enhanced visual intelligence, and creative tools like Image Playground and Genmoji, offering users new ways to communicate, understand, and express themselves. Shortcuts now tap directly into Apple Intelligence, and developers can access the on-device large language model powering it — optimized for speed, privacy, and offline use. These features are now available for testing and will roll out broadly this fall on supported devices and languages. Apple also revealed plans to expand Apple Intelligence language support by the end of the year to include Danish, Dutch, Norwegian, Portuguese (Portugal), Swedish, Turkish, Chinese (Traditional), and Vietnamese.

Sonos Ace headphones get long-awaited TrueCinema sound and more in big update
Sonos has announced a major software update for its flagship Sonos Ace headphones that brings some new features to the premium wireless cans. Chief among them is the long-awaited TrueCinema feature, which was first promised as upcoming when the headphones launched in 2024. TrueCinema uses a compatible Sonos soundbar to measure the acoustic dynamics of the room you're sitting in. It then uses that data to increase the accuracy of the spatial sound in your headphones, in the same fashion as Trueplay on Sonos speakers . The idea is for the audio the user hears to mimic that of a well-balanced surround sound system thats sits right in the room you're listening in. TV Audio Swap is also getting an update and will now support two sets of Sonos Ace headphones synced to the same compatible soundbar, where it previously supported just one set. This feature allows users to seamlessly transfer the audio from their soundbar to their headphones. The update also improves the headphones Active Noise Cancellation by leveraging on-board sensors to adapt to a user's hair, glasses or hats in real time. Using the sensors, the Sonos Ace will then compensate for sound leaks. Some improvements to call quality are also coming to Sonos Ace with the addition of SideTone, a feature that plays a user's voice back to them at low volume while on a call. The audio fidelity on phone calls has also received a bump through this update, though details on what bitrate or exactly how it was improved are not available. Jason White, head of software at Sonos, said the company's goal has been to share meaningful software updates that deliver new enhancements to existing products. 'Our goal has always been to create products that earn their place in people's lives for years, and this Sonos Ace update is a great example of that. It proves that your best tech investment doesn't need to be your newest, it just has to be built right,' White said.
