Temporary changes made to platform access at Visakhapatnam Railway Station to facilitate development works
Temporary changes have been made to platform access at Visakhapatnam Railway Station due to essential construction works on the Foot Over Bridge (FOB) near Gate No. 3 with effect from Monday (June 16). This FOB will be available for access to Platform No. 2 and 3 only.
The South End FOB near Gate No. 3 will be temporarily closed to facilitate its extension of Platforms 6, 7, and 8 as a part of ongoing efforts to improve passenger convenience and operational efficiency, During this period, passengers are advised to use the other two Foot Over Bridges and the lifts available at the station for platform access.
Divisional Railway Manager Lalit Bohra, along with senior officials, is closely monitoring the construction works. He directed the station staff to monitor crowd management and provide necessary assistance to avoid any last-minute inconvenience and to ensure smooth passenger movement.
Senior Divisional Commercial Manager K. Saandeep., in a statement on Monday, expressed regret at the inconvenience caused and appealed to passengers for cooperation during this important phase of infrastructure enhancement. These works are essential for improving connectivity, safety, and the overall improvement of passenger convenience.

Several trains short-terminated, cancelled to facilitate works
Five trains originating from or terminating at Visakhapatnam have been cancelled on June 2 and another on June 3 to facilitate the Pre-Non-Interlock & Non-Interlock works in the Rayagada-Vizianagaram section of Waltair Railway Division. The trains that have been cancelled on June 2 are 58538 Visakhapatnam-Koraput Passenger, 58537 Koraput- Visakhapatnam Passenger, 18512 Visakhapatnam-Koraput Bi-Weekly Express, 58528 Visakhapatnam- Raipur Passenger and 58527 Raipur- Visakhapatnam Passenger. Train no. 18511 Koraput- Visakhapatnam Bi-Weekly Express has been cancelled on June 3, according to K. Saandeep, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager. Meanwhile, train no. 17243 Guntur-Rayagada Express, scheduled to leave Guntur on June 1, will be short-terminated in Vizianagaram, and 17244 Rayagada-Guntur Express will leave from Vizianagaram instead of Rayagada on June 2. Rescheduled services Train no. 20830 Visakhapatnam-Durg Vande Bharat Express has been rescheduled and it will leave Visakhapatnam at 6.50 p.m. on June 2, instead of its scheduled departure at 2.50 p.m. Train number 20829 Durg - Visakhapatnam Vande Bharat Express has been rescheduled to leave Durg at 10.15 a.m. on June 2, instead of its scheduled departure at 5.45 a.m. Train no. 18190 Ernakulam-Tata Express, scheduled to leave Ernakulam on June 1 will leave at 10.15 a.m. instead of its scheduled departure at 7.15 a.m. Train no. 13352 Alappuzha-Dhanbad Express, scheduled to leave Alappuzha on June 1, will depart at 8 a.m., instead of its scheduled departure at 6 a.m. The railway authorities have urged the passengers to take a note of the changes and plan their journey accordingly.

Special trains from Visakhapatnam to SMV Bengaluru and Shalimar extended to clear summer rush
Special trains between Visakhapatnam and SMV Bengaluru, and between Visakhapatnam – Shalimar have been extended to clear the summer rush. Train no. 08581Visakhapatnam – SMV Bengaluru special express train will leave Visakhapatnam at 3.20 p.m. on Sundays (5 trips) from June 1 to 29 and will reach Duvvada at 4 p.m. and will leave at 4.02 p.m. to reach SMV Bengaluru on the next day at 12.45 p.m. In the return direction, 08582 SMV Bengaluru – Visakhapatnam Special Express train will leave SMVT Bengaluru at 3.50 p.m. on Mondays (5 trips) from June 2 to 30 and will reach Duvvada on the next day at 12.40 p.m. and depart at 12.42 p.m. to reach Visakhapatnam at 1.30 p.m., according to K. Saandeep, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager of Waltair Division. This train will also stop at Anakapalli, Yelamanchili, Samalkot, Rajahmundry, Eluru, Vijayawada, Ongole, Nellore, Gudur, Renigunta, Katapadi, Jolarpetai, Kuppam, Bangarpet and Krishnarajapuram It will have 2nd AC – 2, 3rd AC - 3, 3rd AC Economy – 2, Sleeper class coaches-8, General Second Class- 4, Second class cum luggage/ Divyangjan -1, Luggage /generator/brake van-1 in its composition. Similarly, train no. 08508 Visakhapatnam– Shalimar Special train Express will leave Visakhapatnam at 11.20 a.m. on Tuesdays from June 3 to 24.
