Inter Milan's Denzel Dumfries may have been named Man of the Match with his two goals and one assist but it was Barcelona youngster Lamine Yamal everybody was talking about again after the teams' 3-3 draw in a Champions League semi-final for the ages.
Comparisons to Lionel Messi were aplenty after the 17-year-old had dazzled once more, not only scoring an important goal but tormenting the Inter defence throughout the night and hitting the crossbar twice.

'They already have the same fear of Yamal as they do of Messi," Spanish sports paper Marca said.
In England, Manchester City striker Erling Haaland said on Snapchat that "this guy is incredible."
The Inter camp was also impressed, as not even doubling up against Yamal worked.
"Lamine is the kind of talent that comes along every 50 years. I've not seen a player like him for years," coach Simone Inzaghi said.
Defender Alessandro Bastoni named Yamal "the best player in the world. He makes it all look so easy."
Yamal's classy goal in the 24th minute to ignite Barca's comeback from an early 2-0 deficit made him the youngest scorer in a Champions League semi-final at 17 years 291 days, the latest of many age records in his career.

At least as remarkable is that the match was already his 100th for the club, two years and one day after his debut as a 15-year-old.
Yamal won Euro 2024 with Spain and has three titles with Barca, La Liga in 2023, and the Spanish Super Cup and Copa del Rey this year, far more than Messi had at the same age.
Barca lead La Liga this season and can win the Champions League for a treble which their coach Hansi Flick achieved with Bayern Munich in 2020.
Flick named Yamal "special" and "a genius."
"He showed us the way because making it 2-1 was really important. He's a fantastic player and you see his quality in big games. It's great to have him here," Flick said.

But the coach quickly also praised his whole team after the comeback from 2-0 and 3-2 down.
"They gave everything and we can be proud. We played well and kept our style and picked ourselves up after conceding twice," Flick said.
Barca must now win at San Siro on Tuesday to reach the May 31 final in Munich, and another Lamine gala could help in this respect.
"The second leg is still to come and we have to win it. It's a final before the final. We have 90 minutes to get to the final, our objective. We have a chance," Flick said.

FC Barcelona Heavyweight Agrees Saudi Arabia Move

An FC Barcelona locker room heavyweight has agreed to head to the Saudi Pro League when his contract ... More expires according to local reports picked up by SPORT which cited anonymous sources. An FC Barcelona locker room heavyweight has agreed to head to the Saudi Pro League when his contract expires, according to local reports picked up by SPORT which cited anonymous sources. Marc-Andre ter Stegen has been linked with a move to the Middle East amid the signing of Joan Garcia. On international duty with Germany, he claimed ignorance as per being potentially sold ahead of the 2025/2026, at a time when Garcia's release clause at Espanyol still hadn't been paid. Now that's been done, and Garcia has been announced and unveiled at the Joan Gamper CT, the veteran's days between the sticks as Hansi Flick's number one are believed to be numbered. With a contract until mid-2028, however, Ter Stegen isn't obliged to go anywhere and can make things difficult for President Joan Laporta and Sporting Director Deco to get him out of the door. Robert Lewandowski's pending exit from the Catalans should be far more amicable. Turning 37 in exactly a couple of months' time, the deal he signed when joining from Bayern Munich in 2022 expires in just over a year and isn't expected to be renewed given his age. Already looking at the big picture, though, Saudi outlets such as the Al-Riyadiyah newspaper report that 'Lewa' will become one of the Pro League's marquee signings in 2026, which has been confirmed by an anonymous Gol International spokesperson. Gol International is of course the agency headed by Lewandowski's super agent Pini Zahavi, with whom Laporta shares a great working relationship that helped bring the Pole to the Camp Nou back in the famous summer of the 'economic levers'. The mentioned newspaper is clear that there have been no direct conversations between Lewandowski and Pro League representatives yet, but they are expected soon ahead of the ex-Pichichi winner joining one of its teams in 2026. Robert Lewandowski will leave FC Barcelona a modern day club legend Irrespective of what his next destination is, Lewandowski will leave FC Barcelona as a modern day club legend. With two La Liga titles, two Spanish Super Cups and a Copa del Rey to his name amid 101 goals, he could add the Champions League to that tally if Hansi Flick and his men go all the way to Budapest and then some next term.

FC Barcelona Star's Registration Deleted By La Liga

La Liga had to delete the registration of new FC Barcelona star Joan Garcia after mistakenly ... More including him in the Catalans' first team squad on Friday afternoon, a few hours after the goalkeeper signed his contract at the Joan Gamper CT. La Liga had to delete the registration of new FC Barcelona star Joan Garcia after mistakenly including him in the Catalans' first team squad on Friday afternoon, a few hours after the goalkeeper signed his contract at the Joan Gamper CT. Garcia became Barca's first port of call in the summer transfer window thanks to his breakout 2024/2025 season. It was a campaign in which the Blaugrana became treble champions of Spain, yet ended up seeking a new shotstopper thanks to leaking seven goals in the Champions League semifinals to Inter Milan which denied it the chance to get to the decider for the first time since 2015. It was important to pounce on the opportunity to sign Garcia while his release clause was still at a reasonable €25 million, and that value would have only risen in the near future had he made his expected Spain debut under Luis de la Fuente. Garcia's representatives deposited the required funds on Friday last week, ahead of the 24-year-old's signing being officially announced by Barca and him then penning a six-year contract at the Joan Gamper CT. "I'm very happy, I really wanted this day to come and it has finally arrived," Garcia said. 'My goal is to continue growing as a goalkeeper and win a lot, achieve very nice things with the team, that's why I have come.' 'It is a very exciting project, with a great team and very young players, whom I already know. I really want to start and be with them,' he added. Yet eagle-eyed outlets such as Mundo Deportivo spotted that Garcia was immediately uploaded to Hansi Flick's squad in error. The mistake was quickly rectified and Garcia only appeared there for a few minutes, but he was then swiftly deleted. While some clubs such as Real Madrid can have new signings like Trent Alexander-Arnold and Dean Huijsen uploaded to its squad on the La Liga website and registered immediately, it's not as straightforward at Barca where for the past few summers President Joan Laporta and Deco have had to do economic gymnastics to get new signings cleared to lace their boots up while the club stays on the right side of Financial Fair Play (FFP). FC Barcelona will continue trying to make new signings Despite this predicament, FC Barcelona will continue trying to make new signings and has reportedly agreed terms with Nico Williams. It now remains to be see how and when Laporta and Co can raise the Euro 2024's $66.8 million (€58 million) release clause.
