Nitish shares final design of 'Janki Mandir' to be constructed at birthplace of Sita

on Sunday shared the final design of the "Janki Mandir" which will be constructed at Punauradham, a
Hindu pilgrimage
site in
Sitamarhi
district that is considered the birthplace of
goddess Sita
.
The government has also constituted a trust to expedite the ongoing redevelopment works of the '
Punaura Dham
Janki Mandir'.
In a post on X on Sunday, the CM said, "I am very happy to inform you that the design of the grand temple and other structures for the redevelopment of Jagat Janani Maa Janaki's birthplace Punauradham, Sitamarhi is now ready. A trust has also been formed for this so that the construction work can be expedited."

The chief minister posted several images of the proposed temple.
"We are determined to complete the construction of the grand temple in Punauradham, Sitamarhi soon," he said adding that it would be a matter of pride for all.

The state Cabinet recently approved the appointment of a
Noida-based private firm
as the design consultant for the development of "Punaura Dham Janki Mandir".
It is the same organisation which was the consultant for Master Planning & Architectural Services of the Ram temple at Ayodhya.
A large number of pilgrims including those from abroad visit the Punaura Dham. Earlier also, the state cabinet had approved Rs 120 crore for the overall development of the temple.
Nitish Kumar on December 13, 2023 had laid the foundation stone for the overall development of Punaura Dham Janki Mandir.
Under the new development plan, the state government will develop 'Sita-Vatika', 'Luv-Kush Vatilka', construct a parikrama path, display kiosks, cafeteria, children's zones etc.
All connecting roads to the
pilgrim
site are also being developed. Besides, thematic gates and parking areas are being constructed around the pilgrim site.

Diversion road collapses, disrupts traffic in Keonjhar
Keonjhar: The diversion road of the under-construction Baunsajora bridge on the Kanjipani–Kuntala road in Keonjhar district collapsed on Sunday, disrupting traffic throughout the day. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now Due to the high water flow, the bridge could not be repaired, cutting off communication between Telkoi and Jagmohanpur (NH 49). According to sources, the road near Lokanathpur village, built by the Public Works Department (PWD), was damaged after heavy rains over the past two days. As a result, connectivity from Telkoi to Jagmohanpur, Deogarh, Sambalpur, and Rourkela was severed. More than 20 villages in Telkoi block, including Chhamunda, Binjabahal, and Jagamohanpur panchayat, have been cut off from the block headquarters. Emergency services have also been affected. "People are facing unprecedented problems. Passenger buses and other vehicles are plying on a narrow road through Dobalapal and Chhamunda," said Chinmay Sahu, a local. Locals have urged the district administration to act immediately. PWD officials visited the site after the road collapse. "The road will be repaired soon," said junior engineer Nihar Nayak. Residents blamed the PWD for negligence and poor-quality diversion work. A total of Rs 29.39 crore was sanctioned for constructing two bridges over Hanumantia Nala and Baunsajhari Nala and improving a 12-km stretch from Telkoi to Nampashi in Angul district. However, slow progress in construction has led to the current crisis.

Bhubaneswar: Rath Yatra at RCM Jagannath Temple has become a cherished tradition with a vibrant celebration that draws over 40,000 devotees every year. Since its inception in 2007, following the inauguration of the main temple, the chariot festival has become a significant event for the local community and beyond, as thousands gather to witness the divine journey of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra. Each year, as the deities emerge from their sanctum sanctorum, the air is filled with a palpable sense of devotion and reverence. The idols, crafted from the same wood and of similar size as those used in the Puri Jagannath Temple, hold immense significance for devotees, creating a spiritual connection. The origins of the RCM Jagannath Temple and its Rath Yatra are steeped in a fascinating tale. It all began with Prabir Pal, chairman of the temple trust, who was inspired by a mysterious meeting. An unidentified person urged him to establish the temple, akin to the Puri shrine. Sceptical yet intrigued, Pal visited the Puri temple, seeking a sign. To his astonishment, a servitor presented him with the 'agyan mala' of the deities, a gesture that solidified his resolve to build the temple. "With the blessings of the Lord and support of the Jagannath community in Puri, we successfully established our temple. "We follow the same traditions which are followed during Puri Rath Yatra," he said. The festival is a spectacle to behold, featuring a 26-ft high chariot crafted by skilled carpenters from Begunia, a village renowned for its artisans. The chariot carries the deities to the Sri Gundicha Temple, located about 1.5km from the main temple, amid a sea of devotees. A unique aspect of the Rath Yatra is the enthusiastic participation of thousands of tribals from nearby areas. Dressed in their traditional attire, they perform Dhemsa dance, and drink Handia, adding a vibrant cultural dimension to the festival. Sarada Prasad Mishra, chief priest of the temple, said the rituals during Rath Yatra are meticulously observed. He said the deities, currently in Anasara Gruha, will undergo specific rituals before embarking on their journey. "We apply 'fuluri tel' and administer 'dasamularistha' to cure their fever before Rath Yatra. Both medicines are meticulously prepared following the steps prescribed in scriptures," Mishra said.
