Afghan Media Outlet Accuses U.S. And Israel Of Sowing Discord Among Muslims: 'If Muslims Were United, The Israeli Regime Would Never Have Dared To Consider The First Qibla [i.e., Jerusalem] Of Muslims

On May 28, 2025, Afghan news agency Sarie News published an article accusing the United States and Israel of exploiting religious divisions among Muslims to advance their imperialistic goals and to plunder the natural resources of Islamic countries.
The Dari-language article, "Unity Of The Islamic Ummah – A Deterrent Power Against America And Israel," praises resistance groups like Ansar Allah of Yemen and stresses that only Muslim unity can counter Western and Zionist domination.
"The issue of sect is one of the most accessible areas that America and Zionism exploit to target the unity and brotherhood of the Islamic Ummah. Through agents hired by the Jews and America, Islamic groups declare one another unbelievers, thereby rendering the greatest service to the infiltration of America and the Jews," it states.
Following are excerpts from the article:
"America, And Consequently Israel, Are Global Actors Who, By Creating Division And Discord Among The Muslims Of The World, Pursue Their Imperialistic And Plundering Objectives – These Bloodsuckers Of The Century Plunder The Natural Resources And Revenues Of All Oppressed Nations"
"America, and consequently Israel, are global actors who, by creating division and discord among the Muslims of the world, pursue their imperialistic and plundering objectives. These bloodsuckers of the century plunder the natural resources and revenues of all oppressed nations, regardless of religion or sect, and allocate only a meager portion of their own resources to them so they can manage and administer their daily governance – thus continuing their exploitation and enslaving the nations.
"However, this method of exploitation is applied in a more specific and intense manner in Islamic countries, because these countries provide greater grounds for religious division among themselves. By using media, propaganda groups, mobile teams in academic and scientific environments, seemingly religious preachers, and various other techniques, they fuel ethnic and sectarian divisions among Muslims and exploit them like milking cows.
"The issue of sect is one of the most accessible areas that America and Zionism exploit to target the unity and brotherhood of the Islamic Ummah. Through agents hired by the Jews and America, Islamic groups declare one another unbelievers, thereby rendering the greatest service to the infiltration of America and the Jews.
"If Muslims were united, today the Israeli regime would not dare to slaughter dozens of Palestinians every day and impose thousands of displaced and homeless people in Gaza and the surrounding lands of Palestine. Since the beginning of the Al-Aqsa Storm until now, the Israeli regime has killed nearly 60,000 unarmed and defenseless Palestinians, most of whom are women and children.
"Yet, apart from a few countries – Lebanon, Yemen, Iraq, and Iran – not a single Islamic country has taken any action in support of this oppressed nation. Not only have they taken no action, but many of these countries have also been the cause of broader attacks against this oppressed people and, by expanding and intensifying their multi-dimensional relations with the regime, have effectively endorsed its crimes. This represents the height of humiliation and helplessness across the vast geography of Islamic countries, who have now become prey to the Jews – people who themselves possess no independent geography in the world."
"Ansar Allah Of Yemen Is Considered A Small Part Of The Great Population Of Muslims, Yet They Alone Are Fighting America And Israel, And From The Red Sea To Tel Aviv And Ben Gurion, They Have Stolen Sleep And Peace From The Eyes Of These Bloodthirsty Monsters Of History"
"If Muslims were united, the Israeli regime would never have dared to consider the first Qibla [the direction toward which a Muslim turns to pray in Islam, i.e., Jerusalem] of Muslims as part of its own territory and to deny Muslims the permission to visit and pilgrimage to this sacred place. If the Islamic world were cohesive and unified, the historical land of Lebanon – which is an important part of the Muslim domain – would never have had its borders occupied, and the heart of Beirut would not have been crushed under multi-ton bombs of Israel and America.
"The unity of the Islamic world would place the superior geopolitical position of 'Yemen' in their hands, and in the event of any violation or aggression by America and Israel, this great unity could have delivered deadly and crushing blows to these criminals of the century – such that never again would the desire to occupy Islamic countries cross their minds.
"Ansar Allah of Yemen is considered a small part of the great population of Muslims, yet they alone are fighting against America and Israel, and from the Red Sea to Tel Aviv and Ben Gurion, they have stolen sleep and peace from the eyes of these bloodthirsty monsters of history. Just imagine for a moment, if the Islamic world were united, and multiple fronts like Ansar Allah, Hezbollah, and Hamas were formed against Western imperialism and Israel – would not the balance shift in favor of Muslims?
"This is where the Jewish thinktanks, with a deep understanding of the dangers posed by the Islamic Ummah, have invested in creating division and discord among Muslims. And with success in this field, they are advancing their occupying and plundering goals. It is time for Muslims to awaken from the sleep of heedlessness and, with unity and solidarity, form a powerful deterrent power against the hollow dragon of the West – thus creating a barrier that would prevent the arrows and swords of Zionism from striking the throats of Muslims."

Iran's FM: Trust in US at breaking point

Shafaq News/ Iran questioned the United States' credibility in upcoming nuclear negotiations after an Israeli airstrike hit Iranian territory just days before planned talks with American officials. Speaking to NBC News in Geneva, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said Tehran was unsure it could trust Washington, suggesting the diplomatic process may have been used as a 'cover' for Israel's attack. 'What they did was a betrayal of diplomacy,' he stated. He stressed that Iran would not return to the table unless Israel halts its aerial operations. 'We are not prepared to negotiate while the aggression continues,' Araghchi said after meetings with European diplomats. The minister also dismissed US President Donald Trump's demand for zero uranium enrichment. 'That is impossible,' he said, adding that enrichment remains a sovereign right and a national point of pride. Araghchi expressed frustration with US envoy Steve Witkoff, accusing him of repeatedly shifting positions. 'There is now a lack of trust between us. What we were told could be done—was not,' he said, although indirect communication with Witkoff continues. He warned that Iran would retaliate against any joint US-Israeli action, emphasizing Tehran's right to self-defense. 'If the US joins the attacks, we will do the same in response,' he said. Responding to Israeli threats against Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, Araghchi called such a move 'a crime,' and dismissed Trump's claim of knowing Khamenei's whereabouts as 'an insult rather than a threat.' He concluded that the path back to diplomacy requires Washington to stop Israeli airstrikes. 'All it takes is a phone call from Washington to Tel Aviv,' he said. The remarks came as tensions between Iran and Israel have escalated into direct military confrontation. Israel launched Operation Rising Lion on June 13, striking Iranian nuclear and military sites, prompting Tehran to retaliate with missile and drone attacks under its campaign dubbed True Promise 3.

Trump consults inner circle on Iran response

Shafaq News/ US President Donald Trump has been consulting donors, media figures, and elected officials on how to respond to escalating tensions with Iran, The Washington Post reported on Saturday. The consultations come as Trump faces pressure to involve the United States directly in Israel's ongoing air campaign, including appeals from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. However, the president has maintained that Iran must be prevented from developing a nuclear weapon while avoiding direct military engagement. According to the report, Trump's advisers are split between those advocating for a military strike and others backing diplomatic engagement. Figures supporting negotiations have reportedly gained influence, steering the president toward a more cautious approach. "The US President supports diplomatic efforts underway in Geneva as a potential path toward an agreement with Tehran," a senior US official said, adding that Special Envoy Steve Witkoff did not attend the talks, though he remains in "regular contact" with Iranian officials.

Israel strikes Hezbollah command site in southern Lebanon

Shafaq News/ Israel launched a series of airstrikes on Hezbollah positions in southern Lebanon over the past 24 hours, including a targeted strike on a command center in Naqoura. Military spokesperson Avichay Adraee said an overnight strike targeted a facility operated by Hezbollah's elite Radwan Force and was carried out based on intelligence obtained from a recently captured Hezbollah operative. — افيخاي ادرعي (@AvichayAdraee) June 21, 2025 The Israeli army also reported additional air raids, including in the Tyre and Iqlim al-Tuffah regions. The strikes reportedly killed Hezbollah commanders, including Mohammad Khodor al-Husseini, described as the 'commander of the firepower unit in the Litani sector.' — افيخاي ادرعي (@AvichayAdraee) June 20, 2025 Although a ceasefire agreement has officially been in effect since November 27, Israeli aerial and artillery attacks have continued, particularly in Lebanon's southern and eastern regions, with Lebanese authorities recording over 3,000 ceasefire violations and reporting that Israeli forces remain stationed at five locations along the shared border. Tensions have intensified over the past 48 hours, with Israel significantly expanding its military operations in Lebanese territory. The escalation comes amid broader regional tensions following the outbreak of direct hostilities between Israel and Iran. In response to the mounting conflict, Hezbollah Secretary-General Naim Qassem declared late Thursday the group's alignment with Tehran. 'Hezbollah is not neutral when it comes to Iran's legitimate rights and independence versus the injustice of the US, its aggression, and the cancerous entity—Israel,' Qassem said. Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz responded by warning Qassem directly, stating that he 'has not learned from the fate of his predecessors,' and that Hezbollah 'should tread carefully' in its actions moving forward.
