After a chaotic Tuesday that saw the Indiana Fever win a highly physical and emotional showdown against the Connecticut Sun, Caitlin Clark and company now head to San Francisco to face the Golden State Valkyries.

Clark and the Fever beat the Sun 88-71, but it was a game filled with drama. Clark got heated with Jacy Sheldon and was subjected to a hard hit by Connecticut guard Marina Mabrey. Sophie Cunningham, meanwhile, got back at Sheldon for her antics with a hard foul.
Clark and Mabrey received a technical foul for their involvement in the fiasco, while Sheldon and Cunningham were both ejected as tempers flared up.
As the Fever prepare for their next game, though, fans are moving on as well and focusing on what awaits the team.
The Indiana faithful couldn't help but talk about the upcoming matchup against the Valkyries due to Clark's connection with the team. As many fans know, Clark's former Iowa Hawkeyes teammate Kate Martin plays for Golden State.

It is interesting to note that it will be the first meeting between Clark and Martin this 2025 season.

"Anyways, time to let it go and focus on the next two games which are gonna be great. Valkyries is gonna be a nice one Kate Martin and Clark Reunion. And Clark versus the point fraud on Sunday," a commenter wrote.
Another one said, "The traditionally wholesome Caitlin Clark/Kate Martin reunion game on Thursday will certainly be a hard right turn from tonight's chaos."
"It's the Valkeries, her best bud Kate Martin will be there, non drama team, should be a good game!" a third fan shared, responding to a Fever supporter concerned about Clark following Tuesday's incident.

A social media user added, "I just wanna see Kate Martin fight on Caitlin Clark's behalf. Yes, they're on opposing teams now, I know. But theoretically, what if it did happen? What would that look like?"
"Hope my Valkyries don't treat Clark like some of these other teams. I wouldn't think so since Kate Martin is on the team," a Golden State follower remarked.

Michael Waltrip joins ownership group of AF1's Nashville Kats
NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Two-time Daytona 500 winner Michael Waltrip has joined the ownership group of the Nashville Kats, a founding franchise of the Arena Football 1 league. The Kats announced Waltrip joining the group Friday along with his craft beer company Michael Waltrip Brewing. The ownership group already includes former NFL coach Jon Gruden with Jeff Fisher , a former coach of the Los Angeles Rams and Tennessee Titans, majority owner. 'We now have three living legends attached to the Nashville Kats — Jeff Fisher, Jon Gruden, and Michael Waltrip — all with the ultimate goal to win championships and raise the AF1 to its ultimate potential along with any team associated with the AF1,' said Bobby DeVoursney, the Kats' CEO and managing partner. Waltrip's brewery now is the team's official craft beer. The team also plans a 'Waltrip Winner's Circle' fan zone for the upcoming season. The California Interscholastic Federation (CIF)'s executive committee meeting was met by a swath of loud protesters on Friday. The state's growing "Save Girls Sports" contingency, led by the California Family Council, showed up outside the meeting with t-shirts, signs and even a podium for a press conference. CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON Multiple female athletes, parents and state education officials spoke out against the CIF and Governor Gavin Newsom for the policies that have allowed trans athletes to compete in girls' sports, sparking several controversies in the state over the past year alone. California Family Council and outreach director Sophia Lorey also boasted a petition at the event, which has at least 20,074 signatures of Californians urging the CIF and Newsom to change the state's gender eligibility policies. Martin Luther King High School students Taylor Starling and Kaitlyn Slavin, who have filed a lawsuit against the Riverside Unified School District over a situation involving a trans student at their school, headlined the athlete speakers. Starling shared her story of losing her varsity spot on the cross-country team to the trans athlete, while having her "Save Girls Sports" t-shirts compared to swastikas.
