Schneider National celebrates 90th birthday with commemorative event in Green Bay

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – Founded in 1935, Schneider National has grown plenty over the past 90 years, and on Thursday at its Green Bay headquarters, the transportation and logistics company celebrated that growth for its birthday.
While it began with one man and one truck, the company now employs over 19,000 people and operates nearly 15,000 trucks. Schneider's 90th birthday celebration kicked off with a 10:30 a.m. arrival of some of its 'Haul of Fame' drivers to kick off the celebration.

The classic 'Omaha Orange' became a staple of the company in 1944 when Al Schneider, the company's founder, painted the truck, and now they're all over.
The company's birthday party on Thursday also provided a glimpse into their history, along with ideas for the future, including a focus on investing in cross-border services, especially in Mexico, where they have an office.

Apple Alert notifies Wisconsin authorities of crash, drone used to find vehicle off road

BRIGHTON, Wis. (WFRV) – An Apple Alert notification alerted local authorities to a crash in southeast Wisconsin, where a thermal drone had to be used to find the wreck deep in a wooded area. Just after 11:30 p.m. on Friday, June 13, first responders with the Kansasville Fire and Rescue Department say they got an Apple automated crash notification alerting them to a crash near the intersection of STH 142 and 224th Avenue in Brighton. Deputies with the Kenosha County Sheriff's Office immediately responded but were not able to find the vehicle right away. Using a thermal-imaging drone, the car was found roughly 50 feet off the roadway and hidden in thick brush and multiple trees. GBPD searching for shooting suspect, victim left with life-threatening injuries First aid was immediately given to the driver before he was taken to a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. Oshkosh Defense secures contract extension with Army for Family of Medium Tactical Vehicles A2

OSHKOSH, Wis. (WFRV) – On Thursday, Oshkosh Defense announced a three-year contract extension for the Family of Medium Tactical Vehicles A2 (FMTV A2). The contract extension will allow the U.S. Army to continue to order the FMTV A2, including three FMTV A2 Low Velocity Air Drop (LVAD) variants, through February 2028. 'The FMTV A2 contract extension enables the Army to continue modernizing its fleet with proven medium tactical vehicles in support of the Army Transformation Initiative and Force Design 2030,' said Pat Williams, Chief Programs Officer at Oshkosh Defense. 'The FMTV A2 LVAD variants fill a critical capability gap for the Airborne community by replacing an aging fleet with an upgraded capability that can be rapidly deployed in contested and austere environments.'
