The post Taylor Swift surprises children at Florida hospital appeared first on ClutchPoints.
Taylor Swift made a couple of fans' days when she made a surprise visit to a Florida hospital. According to fan videos, Swift posed for photos with several children at the Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital in Hollywood, Fla.
She also took the time to spread joy to the many healthcare workers.
In another video, Swift is seen talking with a girl and giving her a warm embrace.
Swift also posed with the Chief of Surgery, Jill Whitehouse.
'Chief of Surgery meets Chief of the World! Undeniably one of the kindest human beings I have ever had the privilege of meeting. Thank you #taylorswift for making dreams come true for all of our patients, families, and staff today!' Whitehouse captioned the photo.
This hospital visit follows her previous surprise drop in to patients at the Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, Mo. after she concluded her record-breaking Eras Tour back in December.
After several years of her masters being owned by her former label Big Machine Records, then Scooter Braun's Ithaca Holdings, and lastly Shamrock Capital, Swift is now the owner of her first six albums. In a $360 million deal according to Billboard, Swift was able to secure the ownership of the projects that propelled her to stardom. She recollected about the exact moment in a handwritten letter on her personal website.
'I'm trying to gather my thoughts into something coherent, but right now my mind is just a slideshow. A flashback sequence of all the times I daydreamed about, wished for, and prayed away for a chance to get to tell you this news. All the times I was thisssss close, reaching out for it, only for it to fall through. I almost stopped thinking it could ever happen, after 20 years of having the carrot dangled and then yanked away. But that's all in the past now. I've been bursting into tears of joy at random intervals ever since I found out that this is really happening. I really get to say these words: All of the music I've ever made… now belongs to me.'
The 14-time Grammy winner now owns the original records to her self-titled debut Taylor Swift, 1989, Reputation, Red, Speak Now, and Fearless. To combat the formerly not owning the first six albums, she recreated the projects that were dubbed 'Taylor's Versions.' To complete the series, she would need to record her self-titled and Reputation.
In addition to being elated over the ownership of her original masters, she shared an update to fans on the remaining two projects release dates. Swift told fans that Taylor Swift (Taylor's Version) as well as Reputation (Taylor's Verison) will 'have their moment to re-emerge when the time is right, if that is something you guys would be excited about.'
'But if it happens, it won't be from a place of sadness and longing for what I wish I could have,' she added. 'It will just be a celebration now.'

Tyler Perry Slams $260M Sexual Assault Suit By ‘The Oval' Actor As A 'Scam'

A former longtime regular on Tyler Perry's White House drama The Oval is accusing the Madea star of sexual assault, sexual harassment and retaliation in a $260 million lawsuit — claims that Perry vehemently denies. 'Using his influence, Mr. Perry provided vulnerable men with acting positions, roles, show contracts, cars, and money,' a lawyer for Derek Dixon says of Perry's M.O. to their client and others in the 10-claim complaint filed June 13 in Los Angeles Superior Court. 'Once the object of his desire was hooked, Tyler Perry would then put them in fear of losing it all unless they engaged in Mr. Perry's perverted desire for sexual gratification. Mr. Perry would easily 'kill off' a character in a show of an actor who failed to indulge Perry's sexual fantasies.' Kelly, Sean 'P-Diddy' Combs, Kevin Spacey, Roger Ailes, and many others in the industry,' Dixon's action details how allegedly 'on multiple occasions, Mr. Perry sexually assaulted Mr. Dixon, including one instance where he forcibly pulled off Mr. Dixon's clothing, groped his buttocks, and attempted to force himself on Dixon.' In response, Perry's representatives call BS on Dixon and his accusations. 'This is an individual who got close to Tyler Perry for what now appears to be nothing more than setting up a scam,' said Matthew Boyd, attorney for the mogul and his TPS Production Services, LLC. 'But Tyler will not be shaken down, and we are confident these fabricated claims of harassment will fail.' Such claims of harassment by Dixon are very specific and widespread at the same time, it should be noted. For instance, at one point Dixon says Perry promised the actor that he had 'greenlit' the 'pilot that Perry knew Mr. Dixon had desperately wanted to produce.' The Oval vet says that even with a call from one of Perry's lawyers affirming that the pilot was moving ahead, the promise turned out to be empty. In a format reminiscent of the Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni lawsuits, text messages — some more suggestive than others — pepper the 46-page filing from L.A. attorney Jonathan J. Delshad. Included is at least one from an October 2020 trip the two and others took to the Bahamas, where Dixon claims Perry got loaded and assaulted him, again. The filing also notes that Perry supposedly repeatedly threatened 'that if Dixon ignored Perry or failed to engage with the sexual innuendos, Dixon's character would 'die' in the next season.' It goes on to add: 'Indeed, Dixon's character 'Dale' was shot four times in the chest at the end of his first season on The Oval and Perry always held this over Mr. Dixon's head, implying that 'Dale' would survive if Dixon kept Perry 'happy.'' According to Dixon, after he complained about Perry's alleged misconduct and 'Defendants did not make any investigation into the complaint and did not take any steps to prevent further harassment from occurring,' he 'had to quit his job working on the last season of The Oval.' Dixon and his attorneys claim that decision cost him around $400,000 in lost wages. 'Dixon did not want to be sexually harassed or be placed in danger of a sexual assault again,' the filing states as his reason for leaving the show and giving up the money. The Oval debuted on October 23, 2019, on BET, and saw its sixth season kick off on January 25 this year. A Ruthless spinoff premiered on BET+ on March 19, 2020. Johnny Depp Says He Has 'No Regrets' About Amber Heard Trial & Was A 'Crash Test Dummy For #MeToo'

In a sprawling interview with The Times U.K., Johnny Depp claimed he was a 'crash test dummy for #MeToo,' reflecting on his protracted legal battle with actress and ex-wife Amber Heard. 'My comeback? Honestly? I didn't go anywhere,' he said. 'If I had the chance to split I would never come back.' In 2021, the fest awarded him the prestigious Donostia, its highest accolade, and last year, his second directorial effort, Modi: Three Days on the Wing of Madness, garnered a long-standing ovation by the crowd. 'No, I have no regrets about anything — because, truly, what can we do about last week's dinner? Not a f—ing thing,' he said of the much-publicized court trial with Heard. In 2022, Depp and Heard engaged in a contentious court battle during which a jury unanimously found he was defamed. After Heard filed an appeal of the verdict, the two announced separately that the case had been settled with the money paid by Heard going to charity. The case stemmed from a 2018 Washington Post op-ed in which Heard said she was a survivor of domestic violence without mentioning Depp's name. Throughout the media circus that ensued during the live-streamed trial, Heard — who wields considerably less power as a woman who is not as well-known nor cherished as veteran Depp — was largely raked over the coals both online and by Depp's fans who lined the doors outside the courtroom, receiving death threats. Studies conducted by a research firm also indicated the overwhelming hatred she experienced on social media was not entirely human-generated. The Virginia battle also followed a separate libel case in the U.K. over The Sun's calling Depp a 'wife beater.' The judge sided with the publication in 2020, after which Depp was asked to resign from Warner Bros.' Fantastic Beasts franchise, with the judge finding that the 'great majority of alleged assaults of Ms. Heard by Mr. Depp have been proved.' When asked why he pursued the public trial in the U.S., Depp answered: 'Look, it had gone far enough. I knew I'd have to semi-eviscerate myself. Everyone was saying, 'It'll go away!' But I can't trust that. What will go away? The fiction pawned around the f—ing globe? No it won't. If I don't try to represent the truth it will be like I've actually committed the acts I am accused of. And my kids will have to live with it. Their kids. Kids that I've met in hospitals. So the night before the trial in Virginia I didn't feel nervous. If I don't have to memorize lines, if you're just speaking the truth? Roll the dice.' He continued, 'Look, none of this was going to be easy, but I didn't care. I thought, 'I'll fight until the bitter f—ing end.' And if I end up pumping gas? That's all right. I've done that before.' Depp also claimed his experience predated #MeToo, and that's why people failed to support him. However, activist Tarana Burke's hashtag and movement were founded in 2006, later moving to the entertainment industry space circa 2017, the same year the New York Times and The New Yorker published exposés on now-disgraced mogul Harvey Weinstein. 'I'll tell you what hurts. There are people, and I'm thinking of three, who did me dirty. Those people were at my kids' parties. Throwing them in the air. And, look, I understand people who could not stand up [for me] because the most frightening thing to them was making the right choice,' he said. 'I was pre-#MeToo. I was like a crash test dummy for #MeToo. It was before Harvey Weinstein. And I sponged it, took it all in. And so I wanted from the hundreds of people I've met in that industry to see who was playing it safe. Better go woke!' Since 2022, the actor hasn't really gone gently into that good night — hence the disagreement with the term 'comeback.' That year, he made a surprise appearance at the MTV Video Music Awards; later on, he embarked on a 2023 European tour with band Hollywood Vampires and was seen in Savage X Fenty's fashion show. More recently, he is set to reunite with Pirates of the Caribbean co-star Penelope Cruz in Lionsgate's upcoming Day Drinker, also featuring Madelyn Cline. Additionally, filming for Terry Gilliam's Carnival: At the End of Days, opposite Adam Driver, Jeff Bridges and Jason Momoa was scheduled to commence in April.
