2025 is about to see a bunch of highly anticipated K-pop debuts. One of the groups that fans have been waiting for is P NATION's girl group, nicknamed P Girls (피걸즈). As the first girl group under South Korean hitmaker PSY's (싸이) wing, it's no surprise the group is already making waves amongst K-pop fans.

I-dle Member Soyeon Is In Charge Of Creative Direction And Song Production
If i-dle (아이들) leader Soyeon (소연) is taking part in the production, there's no doubt that P Girls' debut will be epic! In a recent 'Knowing Bros' episode, the songwriter confirmed she will be P Girls' main producer and has produced their debut song. As the group's producer, Soyeon is also in charge of their creative direction.
PSY Has Already Hinted At The Debuting Members
In April 2025, PSY had netizens excited when he dropped a video of P Girls on his Instagram. The video, titled 'The Future Of 'P Girls'', showed four female trainees dancing to a powerful choreography to Beyonce's 'PURE/HONEY'. In the comments, some said the group gave off similar vibes to BLACKPINK in their pre-debut days.
One Of The Members Has Appeared In A Kids' Singing Competition
Following the release of the pre-debut dance clip, netizens quickly recognised one of the trainees as former 'WE KID' contestant Jo Yi-Hyun (조이현). While in the children's singing competition, Jo Yi-Hyun became popular for her voice and visuals. Netizens who saw her as a child praised her growth, noting that she has gotten prettier since her time on the 2016 show.
The Group's Name Is Rumoured To Be 'Baby DONT Cry'
While the group is nicknamed P Girls, their official name might be unconventional. In April 2025, fans noticed that P Nation had submitted the trademark for the name 'Baby DONT Cry' and an image depicting two cherries on a stem. Many believed these two submissions were for the new girl group, particularly their name and logo.

'Mercy For None' review: One-punch gangster is a one-note wonder

Photos: Handout Whenever South Korean beat-'em-up extravaganzas are mentioned, one would think Ma Dong-seok aka Don Lee has all the other stars ... er, beat. Not so fast. We can now add rapper-actor So Ji-sub (Doctor Lawyer, Sophie's Revenge, Be With You) to the pantheon of screen bruiser demigods. The short, decidedly unsweet action/crime limited series Mercy For None rests firmly on So's squared shoulders and melancholy gaze as he bludgeons his way through gangsters, hitmen, dirty cops and fixers on a mission of revenge. The storyline uses familiar building blocks: intergang rivalry, sons trying to prove their worth to their fathers, fathers wanting their sons to lead better lives than they did, gangsters vying for position, betrayal, duty, corruption, and the ever-popular heroic bloodshed. So plays Kim Gi-jun, formerly a trusted lieutenant of gang lords Lee Ju-woon (Huh Joon-ho) and Gu Bong-san (Ahn Gil-kang) back when they were mere flunkies to a bigger fish. 'Sigh, what a mess. And is that guy sleeping on the job? Oh well, it was time to redecorate and rightsize anyway.' While helping them take over and split the territory, Gi-jun committed a big breach of criminal ethics (cough cough) and was forced to leave after having his Achilles tendon severed – undoubtedly more debilitating than just taking a little finger, like they do across the Tsushima Strait. When his younger brother Gi-seok (Lee Jun-hyuk, Stranger, Vigilante), who is being groomed as the Ju-woon gang's next boss, becomes a target, Gi-jun comes swinging back into action. The culprits seem obvious at first, but it soon becomes evident (to the viewer, if not the clueless principal players in this little melodrama) that a far-reaching conspiracy is afoot. Mercy For None, based on the 2020 webtoon Plaza Wars: Mercy For None by Oh Se-hyung and Kim Gyun-tae, has all the elements for an engaging study of the interesting relationship among its trope-heavy characters. Not so fast, there. From the sparse credits found online for writer Yoo Ki-seong and director Choi Sung-eun, this seems to be their first high-profile project, and they prefer to let So's flailing fists do the talking rather than linger on brooding gangster noir moments (although one shared drink between Ju-woon and Bongsan does fill in the gangland gravitas quota somewhat). 'I like what you've done with the grounds. Odd choice of garden gnomes, though.' Also, unlike many of its comrades in the K-drama sphere, Mercy For None dispenses with characters who are in there just for comic relief. (One split-second exception being a disposable goon in an early episode who seems to defy all of Newton's Laws of Motion when Gi-jun hits him in the face.) Heaping helpings of poetic justice are served along the way, with the tale ending more or less how you imagine it should. Not for the squeamish, Mercy For None is ironically a soothing salve for viewers in need of spleen-venting through the vicarious thrill of screen carnage. And from the way this one shot to the top of the local charts, that covers a whole lot of us. All seven episodes of Mercy For None are available on Netflix.

It's well known among Malaysian K-pop fans that Super Ring is a popular snack among idols. Members of BLACKPINK, STAYC, and have all been unable to resist the cheesy goodness of the local treat. GOT7's Mark Tuan even claimed they're better than the cheese ball snacks found in the US. It seems that two more idols have joined the list, after one introduced the snack to the other on camera. BTS member J-Hope (제이홉) recently appeared on TWICE's Sana (사나/サナ)'s show 'Fridge Interview', where he brought along some snacks he picked up while on tour. Watch: In the latest episode of Sana's 'Fridge Interview', BTS's J-Hope discussed his latest solo project and preparations for his 'HOPE ON THE STREET' world tour, which recently concluded. At one point during the interview, the two idols opened the fridge, which was filled with various foods and drinks that the rapper is particularly fond of, one of which happened to be a packet of Super Ring snacks. The 31-year-old explained the reason he liked each item in the fridge, one by one. When it came to the Malaysian snack, he revealed that he had picked it up during his trip to Singapore, where he performed at the country's National Indoor Stadium. He described it as savoury and tasty before opening the bag to share it with Sana, who commented that it had a hint of sweetness. The moment quickly went viral, with Malaysian fans expressing their excitement over the Super Ring mention. Many commented that if J-Hope were to perform in Malaysia, he could have all the Super Ring snacks he wanted, as they're available in almost every convenience store across the country. Others, however, expressed disappointment that the idol didn't specify the snack's Malaysian origin, noting that he only mentioned picking it up in Singapore. TWICE fans also chimed in, hoping that Sana would share the snack with her fellow members, sparking hopes that it might lead to a potential concert in Malaysia. DJ SODA Shares Heartbreaking Hair Disaster; Alleges Threats From Salon Following Fans' Protest
Colouring your hair can be an exciting experience, but it does come with risks. The bleaching process, in particular, can be harmful and may lead to various negative effects if not done correctly. This is why K-pop fans often express concern for their idols, as many of them change hair colour with every comeback. Even if you stick to one hair colour, the process of touching up your roots still carries some risk. Unfortunately for South Korean DJ Hwang So-hee (황소희), aka DJ SODA, her recent hair treatment didn't turn out as well as she had hoped. Earlier this week, DJ SODA posted about her recent visit to her regular hair salon to dye her hair blonde for the first time in 3 years. It was meant to be a surprise for her fans, but unfortunately, things took a turn for the worse when the salon accidentally left the bleach on for too long. 'My hair was originally thick, full, and in healthy condition thanks to a 3-year break from bleaching and consistent care. But they left the bleach on for too long, and my hair melted from the roots. In the end, I had to shave the entire back and sides of my head,' she said. The musician went on to explain that the damage was so severe, she could no longer hide it when attending events and shows. She felt devastated as her hair continued to fall out in large handfuls every day, to the point where she had trouble sleeping for two weeks. 'I cried every day. It's really hard for me to look in the mirror. When I see videos fans took of me, I feel even more heartbroken,' she added. Unfortunately, due to the extent of the damage, she was unable to get hair extensions to cover the bald spots and could only use what's left of her natural hair to conceal them. After sharing the news with her fans, many reportedly began protesting outside the hair salon. This led the management to contact DJ SODA in an attempt at damage control. However, rather than offering an apology, the company demanded that she take down the post. 'I received a message directed at my manager saying, 'I will give you 5 million won if you write a settlement agreement and take down the post.' [I want to make it clear that], even if I were offered a fortune, it cannot change my appearance now or undo the pain caused by this,' she said in a follow-up post. DJ Soda explained that the salon had offered to provide a list of hospitals (under their supervision) where she could receive hair treatment. However, despite repeated reminders, they failed to follow through on their promise. She did not disclose whether she plans to take legal action, but if her claims are true, the salon could be in serious trouble for damaging the hair of a public figure.
