Slovakia Temporarily Closes Embassy in Tehran
Israa Farhan Slovakia has announced the temporary closure of its embassy in Tehran and the full evacuation of its diplomatic staff from Iran, citing rising military tensions in the region. The Slovak Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed the decision on Friday, citing escalating hostilities between Iran and Israel as a major security concern. Meanwhile, South Korea has successfully evacuated dozens of its nationals from both Iran and Israel as fears grow over the intensifying conflict between the two countries. According to South Korea's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, around 60 South Korean citizens and their family members departed the region via land routes and arrived safely in neighboring countries. The ministry stated that 30 South Koreans and four family members left Iran and crossed into Turkmenistan using transport arranged by the South Korean government. They arrived in the capital, Ashgabat, on 18 and 19 June, according to South Korea's Yonhap News Agency. A foreign ministry official explained that the eastern land route used for evacuation spanned roughly 1,200 kilometers and took around 30 hours to complete by bus, including rest stops along the way. read more Gold prices rise, 21 Karat at EGP 3685 NATO's Role in Israeli-Palestinian Conflict US Expresses 'Strong Opposition' to New Turkish Military Operation in Syria Shoukry Meets Director-General of FAO Lavrov: confrontation bet. nuclear powers must be avoided News Iran Summons French Ambassador over Foreign Minister Remarks News Aboul Gheit Condemns Israeli Escalation in West Bank News Greek PM: Athens Plays Key Role in Improving Energy Security in Region News One Person Injured in Explosion at Ukrainian Embassy in Madrid News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier Sports Former Al Zamalek Player Ibrahim Shika Passes away after Long Battle with Cancer Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Business Fear & Greed Index Plummets to Lowest Level Ever Recorded amid Global Trade War Arts & Culture Zahi Hawass: Claims of Columns Beneath the Pyramid of Khafre Are Lies News Flights suspended at Port Sudan Airport after Drone Attacks Videos & Features Video: Trending Lifestyle TikToker Valeria Márquez Shot Dead during Live Stream News Shell Unveils Cost-Cutting, LNG Growth Plan Technology 50-Year Soviet Spacecraft 'Kosmos 482' Crashes into Indian Ocean News 3 Killed in Shooting Attack in Thailand

6 more S. Koreans, 1 Iranian family member evacuate Iran amid escalating conflict with Israel
Six more South Koreans and an Iranian family member have safely crossed the border from Iran into neighboring Turkmenistan amid the escalating conflict between Iran and Israel, Seoul's foreign ministry said Friday. Two South Korean nationals and an Iranian family member arrived in Ashgabat on Friday afternoon (local time), in addition to four other South Koreans who had earlier left Iran and reached the Turkmen capital via the same land route, the ministry said. This brings the total number of South Koreans who have left Iran to 37, since the government began operations to assist those wishing to evacuate, including by providing transportation through border checkpoints. Twenty-six South Koreans and four Iranian family members also crossed the border into Turkmenistan by transportation provided by the South Korean government earlier this week. Escalating airstrikes between Israel and Iran have prompted countries to evacuate their nationals from the region. At least 43 South Koreans and their Israeli family members have fled Israel and taken shelter in Jordan. An estimated 110 South Koreans were in Iran and around 500 in Israel before the conflict began last Friday. (Yonhap)

S. Korean taxi driver under fire for sexually harassing Thai tourist
SEOUL: A South Korean taxi driver is facing public backlash after allegedly making a sexually inappropriate comment to a Thai tourist, raising safety concerns among travellers. According to a video posted on Thursday (June 19) by a Thai woman in her 30s, her friend was verbally harassed while taking a taxi to Seoul Station to board a KTX train to Busan. She posted the video on TikTok with a warning that read, 'Be careful when taking taxis in Korea.' The driver, attempting to communicate using a translation app, allegedly asked inappropriate personal questions such as 'Do you have a boyfriend?' and 'Why aren't you married yet?' He then suggested he could help her find a job, saying: 'It's not hard. You just need to clean rooms.' When the alleged victim mentioned she was travelling to Busan, the driver reportedly responded, 'Shall we go to Busan in this taxi?' and added, 'If you don't have money for the fare, you can pay with your body.' The account owner said the most frightening moment for her friend was when the driver stopped the car and kept talking to her. Before reaching the destination, he gave her his phone number and asked when she would return to South Korea. 'Korea is a safe country and has many good people,' the Thai national wrote in the caption, 'but don't assume it is 100 per cent safe.' The video quickly spread on social media, prompting outrage among South Korean netizens. Many condemned the driver's behaviour, calling it 'a disgrace to the country' and noting that such incidents unfairly damage the reputation of other taxi drivers. Some users left apologetic comments on the TikTok account, with one writing, 'As a Korean, I'm sincerely sorry', and another added, 'You came to Korea expecting good memories, but now you're leaving with a traumatic experience. As someone who loves Thailand, I'm truly sorry.' - The Korea Herald/ANN

Post Archive Faction hits home run in Pitti
Add Post Archive Faction (PAF) to the list of brands smartly endorsed by Pitti, the giant menswear salon in Florence, where this new South Korean marque made its Italian debut on Thursday afternoon. Not quite a-star-is-born moment, but certainly the biggest hit of all the shows this week in Pitti. Post Archive Faction is all about techy urban wear, all-weather clubbing gear that's very dark, rather moody and definitely very cool, which all felt very now. 'The brand's name comes from the fact that our generation is very lucky in that we can access all these beautiful archives from art, fashion or cinema, or any movement anywhere, thanks to the Internet. So, we can drift around those archives, exploring and making our own new one,' explained co-founder Dongjoon Lim, in a preview. Where what stood out was the remarkable hand of many fabrics: stiff dandy pajama suits in putty-hued toweling material; chiffon mesh crepe blazers that felt like light scouring pads; or desert dry linen shirts. The tailoring was deconstructed yet somehow punchy – everything anchored by some great footwear: sprayed over Chelsea boots, brogue/clog assemblages; and saddle-stitch lace-ups. PAF had shown before in Paris, with some well-admired hyper avant-garde Yeti-style concept clothes, though without making a giant impact. But by scaling up for this show, the brand suddenly took on another dimension. PAF's arrival in Pitti comes in the wake of Kolon, a very large Korean conglomerate, buying a significant stake in the house. Looks like Kolon got the timing of that investment right. Notably, as a recent collab' with happening sneaker brand On underlined – some 90% of the collection sold out on the first day. On a day in Florence where temperatures hit 37 degrees celsius, Lim insisted: 'I don't really like hot weather! Though it's very hard to find cool lightweight clothing for spring. But what I was want is very classic, but practical.' Presented inside the looming former train station, Stazione Leopoldo, the cast marched out to the dramatic sounds of "Buka" by pianist Hania Rani. Full marks for some simple but highly effective staging, courtesy of veteran show producer Thierry Dreyfus. Using the full length the station, each figure silhouetted before a light-filled back wall. On the runway multiple trickles of sand – like from an hourglass – fell to create small islands to circumnavigate. Asked how he wanted his audience to react, Lim responded: 'I'd like to think that they will be drifting both physically and in their imagination.' Which they very probably were.

The Transaction is subject to customary closing conditions, including approval by the Company's shareholders. The Transaction would result in the creation of a Bitcoin-native treasury platform in the South Korean public markets that is anchored by institutional investors with significant experience in digital asset investments. We see South Korea as an important market in the evolution of BTC adoption. Our intent is to support institutional access to BTC exposure while emphasizing sound corporate governance and disciplined capital management," said Andrew Kim. "We are incredibly excited to create the first BTC treasury company in South Korea backed by an institutional-grade platform. Given the strategic nature of BTC on the global stage and its finite supply, we believe that building and growing a company like Parataxis Korea and accumulating a BTC treasury will benefit our shareholders as well as the country over the long run," said Edward Chin of Parataxis Holdings. Along with the contemplated Transaction, Parataxis Holdings is closing another fund with substantially the same strategy, and is in the process of launching additional fund vehicles.
