Angela Simmons Shares Cryptic Message Amid Yo Gotti Breakup Rumors

Yahoo03-06-2025

Days after rumors of a breakup between Angela Simmons and rapper Yo Gotti surfaced, the fitness enthusiast has shared a cryptic post many believe to be confirmation of their split.
Shared to her Instagram Stories Thursday (May 22), Simmons posted a brief note about only wanting things in life that return her same energy, writing, 'I want what wants me in life. In all areas. What flows FLOWS. What goes GOES.' Followers took this to mean the pair have gone their separate ways, aided by Simmons choosing Chris Brown and Usher collab 'New Flame' to score the next slide. See the main post below.
Rumors of a breakup between the two spread following a report from MTO that the pair split because, 'Angela felt like she was putting in more effort than she was getting back,' according to their source. 'Yo Gotti's schedule was nonstop — studios, business, appearances — and she started feeling like she wasn't a priority.'
Whispers of Yo Gotti getting 'too close' to his artist, GloRilla, also allegedly played a factor, with the source adding, 'Angela's not the jealous type, but she's also not going to ignore red flags — even if they're just rumors. She wanted more reassurance, more presence, more time.' Neither Simmons nor Gotti have confirmed a breakup.
Simmons and Gotti began dating in 2022, going public with their romance on New Year's Day, 2023. This came years after the rapper announced his crush on her via his 2016 hit, 'Down In The DM.' The couple have since had a generally smooth relationship, with engagement rumors surfacing as recently as September 2024, when he took Simmons on a romantic getaway for her 37th birthday.

Katie Nolan reiterates her staunch defense of Pablo Torre in Bill Simmons spat: ‘Bro, come on'

Katie Nolan made it clear that she will always be on Pablo Torre's side in a beef with Bill Simmons over the former ESPN reporter's coverage on Bill Belichick and Jordon Hudson. Nolan elaborated on her decision during an episode of 'Pablo Torre Finds Out' on Thursday, where she called out Simmons for his comments about Torre's coverage of the couple. 'I picked you, it wasn't like … there was no hesitation. [Simmons] didn't even listen to the episode!' Nolan said. 'I listened to it back and I was like 'Bro, come on.' … [Pablo] was out there in LA, so he did Simmons' podcast, refuting Simmons saying that it was whatever, s–tty reporting or whatever. And Simmons was like 'What I'd like to talk about instead is…'' 'It was skillful move by Bill,' Torre interjected. Advertisement 'No, it was not! Immediately, you could see right through it. 'So no then, Bill?' ' Nolan replied The beef between the two started in May when The Ringer founder said Torre was 'pretending to be a journalist' for his reporting on Belichick and Hudson, tying in fictional character Leo Farnsworth from the 1978 film 'Heaven Can Wait' in the process. 3 Bill Simmons attends HBO's 'Momentum Generation' premiere held at The Broad Stage on Nov. 5, 2018 in Santa Monica, Calif. 'Unless you're afraid of @pablofindsout and someone just 'pretending to be a journalist,' of course. Thanks, Pablo.' The two eventually discussed the situation on 'The Bill Simmons Podcast' earlier this month, with Torre defending his work against pushback.

Lil Wayne's ‘Tha Carter VI' First Week Sales Projections Paint A Telling Picture

Lil Wayne's long-anticipated studio album Tha Carter VI made a solid, though not spectacular, commercial impact in its first week of release. The album is projected to open with 110,000 album-equivalent units sold, according to Hits Daily Double, placing it at No. 2 on the Billboard 200—just behind country music juggernaut Morgan Wallen's chart-topping album I'm the Problem. Of those 110,000 units, 35,000 were physical copies, demonstrating continued fan interest in tangible editions of Weezy's music. Despite this respectable debut, Tha Carter VI marks a decline in first-week sales compared to Wayne's previous efforts. His 2020 release Funeral debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with 139,000 units. Even more notably, Tha Carter V sold a massive 480,000 units in its debut week back in 2018, underscoring a noticeable slide in first-week performance over the years. While some fans celebrated the return of the iconic Carter series, others were less enthused. Critics and longtime listeners alike have voiced disappointment over the project's consistency and innovation. At the 2025 BET Awards, Lil Wayne delivered a fiery performance, reigniting nostalgia with his classic single 'A Milli' and his more recent cut, 'Welcome to the Carter.' The performance reminded audiences of the lyrical powerhouse he once was, even as Tha Carter VI sparked mixed reactions. While loyal fans welcomed the album as a continuation of a legendary legacy, many deemed it a lackluster effort from an artist once considered untouchable in Hip-Hop. In short, Tha Carter VI achieved solid first-week numbers, but its muted reception and declining sales reflect the evolving landscape of Wayne's career—and the high expectations that still surround his name. Reginae Carter Defends Father Lil Wayne Following ‘Tha Carter VI' Backlash

Reginae Carter continues to stand firmly in defense of her father, Lil Wayne, amid recent criticism of his latest album. The budding actress recently addressed backlash over Tha Carter VI during a livestream on Tuesday (June 15), directly responding to a fan who labeled the album 'trash.' Reginae dismissed the criticism, pointing to today's culture of viral TikTok trends and emphasizing her father's lyrical skills. She noted that Weezy's music can be heard beyond social media. 'Tha Carter VI is trash? That's fine, that's what you want to say,' she began to the critic in a social media video. 'This is what I [hate] about you kids The fact that y'all can't get on TikTok and do a little dance for it? That don't mean that it's trash, babe. Okay?' Doubling down on how lyrically influential and deep her father got on this album, she continued, 'My dad was talking real s**t. It's stuff on that album that you can hear in 2K, in games, at f**king malls, at all type of stuff. It's universal, my love. Y'all need to take y'all minds out of the TikTok world and get to the real bag. My dad is a lyricist, babe. My dad really talks s**t. So if you can't understand it, please move in silence like the 'G' in lasagna and get the f**k out of here. Thanks. Now that's my last time.' Reginae has long been a vocal protector of Lil Wayne's legacy, frequently pushing back on social media critics, fellow rappers, and those who've simply underestimated his impact. Back in February, she defended her father's Saturday Night Live 50 performance, reminding critics that while they were 'hating for free,' Wayne was cashing checks. 'Y'all are some d riders! My dad been having fun performing for years!' she stated, following ongoing conversations about why Kendrick Lamar was chosen over Lil Wayne for the 2025 Super Bowl Halftime Show — despite being a New Orleans native. In 2019, she also responded to Kodak Black's disrespectful comments about Lil Wayne, who he called a 'maggot' and said he 'should have died when [he] was a baby.' Upon hearing these comments, Reginae took to Instagram to defend her father's honor by posting a picture of Wayne holding her as a baby, captioning it: 'You new lil rappers need to start giving props and respect to the Goat. My father don't bother nobody. He won't even react to what was said. This man be in his own world so leave him the f**k alone.' Even further back, Reginae publicly criticized Young Thug for naming his album Carter 6, viewing it as an attempt to capitalize on Wayne's legacy. Reginae even clapped back at T.I., who once questioned Lil Wayne's stance on the Black Lives Matter movement. Take a look at her latest defense of Lil Wayne above.
