Slain gangster Kevin 'Gerbil' Carroll replaced by new enforcer for "A Team" mob amid gang war

A TikTok page run by the faceless "A Team" claims a new recruit has been brought into the ranks.
Gangland mob the "A Team" have warned their rivals a new enforcer has been recruited to replace slain Kevin "Gerbil" Carroll.
The chilling threat from the Daniel and Richardson outfit came after gangsters Eddie Lyons Jnr, 46, and Ross Monaghan, 43, were gunned down at a pub in the Costa Del Sol.
A TikTok page run by the faceless gang has fired a series of insults and threats to the Lyons mob and Dubai-based Ross McGill's Tamo Junto (TMJ) group - which has targeted senior Daniel and Richardson figures for four months.
A message from the "A Team" told rival operatives: 'You allegedly got rid of this man out of total fear. RIP, Gerbil. He would have terrorised you. A real soldier, like our new friend who has replaced him."
In a series of mocking posts they branded former Rangers 'ultra' McGill a 'keyboard gangster' who was engaged in 'school boy' attacks via his TMJ gang.
Another message read: "Take your wannabe joke of a clan and come back when you are all man enough to handle stuff like men."

Feared Daniels enforcer Kevin "Gerbil" Carroll was gunned down in 2010 as he sat in the back seat of an Audi in the Asda car park in Robroyston. The son-in-law of mobster Jamie Daniel, he was known for kidnapping and torturing rival drug dealers in attacks dubbed "alien abductions".
Ross Monaghan was arrested over the shooting but was acquitted after a judge at the High Court in Glasgow ruled there was insufficient evidence to convict him.
William 'Buff' Paterson, 45, was later convicted of the murder in 2015 and sentenced to a minimum of 22 years in prison. Earlier this week the Record revealed that around a dozen senior members from the Daniel clan and Richardson mob had fled Scotland.
An underworld source said: 'Nobody knows exactly where they have gone or how long for but most of them are believed to be in Dubai and the rest are in the Costa del Sol.
'The TMJ gang were watching closely and hoping to catch one of them out in the open but all of a sudden they just upped sticks and left."
The move came after Spanish cops blamed the double execution of Lyons Jnr and pal Ross Monaghan on "an internal member of the Daniel gang".
Boss Steven Lyons is believed to have ordered bloody recriminations from his bolthole in Dubai following the deaths of his brother Eddie and trusted pal Monaghan.
The source added: "Steven Lyons wants serious revenge for the death of his brother and best friend. Steven won't be content or even able to grieve properly until he claims some serious scalps from within the Daniel and Richardson gangs."

Assistant Chief Constable Stuart Houston said: "We have been assisting Spanish colleagues with their investigation into the fatal shootings in Fuengirola.
"We are not aware of any current evidence which suggests the deaths of these two men in Spain are linked to the recent criminal attacks in Scotland being investigated as part of Operation Portaledge."
Michael Riley, 44, appeared at Westminster Magistrates' Court in connection with the shooting in Spain later today. The total number of arrests in connection with the investigation Operation Portaledge is 48.

'My sister was days away from graduating, then I got a call about an emergency'

For the first time, sister of British nursing student, Tamilore Odunsi is speaking out after the 23 year old was brutally killed in her Houston flat - her younger sister, Georgina shares the heartbreak. Elizabeth Tamilore Odunsi was excitedly counting down the days to graduation day. The 23-year-old was so close to becoming the nurse she dreamed of being, and she had a holiday booked for after the ceremony. But instead it was her sister who walked on to the graduation stage to accept her nursing degree. Because just two weeks earlier, Elizabeth – known as Tamilore – had been murdered, and her flatmate charged with stabbing her to death in their apartment. ‌ Georgina says of the graduation day: 'I was collecting this for my sister, but then in the back of my head I'm thinking about the fact that it should have been her. I couldn't even keep a brave face on stage while I was doing that.' ‌ To Tamilore, nursing was more than a career – it was a calling. Georgina says: 'From a young age, Tami really liked children. She had such a strong bond with caring for kids, looking after them. She was a very selfless person. She just wanted to care for people that were less abled.' Tamilore, from London, was born in the US and moved back there aged 17 to study. 'She saw an opportunity and she took it immediately,' Georgina says. 'She was a go-getter.' The trainee nurse had built up tens of thousands of TikTok followers by sharing study tips, motivation and nursing advice. In her final TikTok, she beams with pride and excitement as a caption declares: '23 years old. BSN grad in 2 weeks. Vacations booked. Summer is 14 days away. Starting to look human again.' But five days later, on April 26, police called to her apartment in Houston, Texas, to do a welfare check found her body on the kitchen floor. Back in London, Georgina was out with a friend when her older brother rang to tell her to come home because of a family emergency. ‌ It took six hours before the family were finally told Tamilore had died. Georgina recalls: 'It was like a dream state for me.' Tamilore's flatmate, fellow student Chester Lamar Grant, 40, was charged with her murder. A judge in a US probable cause court said the two were in a fight over Grant's cat. According to US reports, it came out in court that Grant had been arrested and convicted several times in Washington state for domestic violence, and for violating a protective order in 2023. ‌ Tamilore's accommodation provider told US media it carried out checks before Grant moved in, adding: 'We are deeply saddened and disturbed... It seems like senseless violence took the life of a young woman.' Georgina is speaking out in the hope that her sister's death will spark conversations around the safety of women, especially Black women, and the lack of visibility stories like Tamilore's receive. ‌ She says: 'I want there to be more protection for us, more safeguarding for us, because I feel like that's the burden. I feel like, as a community, especially the Black community, we need to protect our women and girls much more. I feel like not enough is being done.' Her aim now is to keep Tamilore's memory and legacy alive by continuing to to help people, as Tamilore did, through TikTok. She says: 'Now that we've put my sister to rest, I don't want her name to pass. I might not execute it the same way, but I want her name to continue helping people.' Meanwhile, prayer is keeping the Odunsi family together. Georgina says: 'We're not happy about what's happened but you can't question God. She's with him now – and one day we'll go and meet her too.'

A HEAVILY-inked Brit has vowed to never return to Dubai after claiming he got kicked out for plastering his face in tattoos. Jordan Howman, 34, said he had his passport confiscated and was held by airport workers for six hours before being given the boot - ruining his £3,000 holiday. 4 4 The plasterer, from Crewe, Cheshire, covered his face in tattoos of geometric cubes and words including "blessed" and "crazy life" almost a decade ago. Jordan said his ink addiction hadn't caused him any issues during his previous two trips to his "favourite country in the world", the UAE. The dad told The Sun: "My missus has been crying her eyes out. "It has absolutely devastated me. I feel like I've been massively discriminated against. 'There's no law against face tattoos - there's nothing like that. "I'm a lovely lad, I get on with anyone. It's made me feel absolutely rubbish. I'm not allowed in a country because of the way I look. It's properly, massively affected me. 'It was my favourite country, but this has absolutely ruined it. Now I'll never go again. I've lost all of my money because of a pattern on my face.' Jordan landed at Dubai International Airport on Wednesday for a dream week-long holiday with his fiancée Theresa, 38, and daughter Kaic, 16. But he said as he ventured through passport control he was pulled to one side. After taking Jordan aside, the worker asked if he'd had his passport stamped before taking it from him. "It was only when I landed that I got my passport back. "Friday morning was the first time I got to see my daughter, over Facetime.' The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs Dubai have been approached for comment. Dubai Airports was also contacted for a response. Dubai's tourist laws LAWS for tourists in Dubai are largely centred around respect for local customs and traditions. Swearing, loud music and public displays of affection are banned. Tourists must also observe Ramadan rules by refraining from eating or drinking publicly during fasting hours. Holidaymakers must also be careful when taking photos of individuals or sensitive sites. Visa regulations require a valid passport with six months minimum before it expires. Tourists must also have a return ticket, proof of accommodation, and sufficient funds. Overstaying your visa can lead to fines or deportation. Drinking alcohol is restricted in licensed venues and public intoxication is illegal. Dubai has strict drug laws, and certain medications require prior approval from UAE authorities. Unmarried couples sharing a room may face restrictions, although enforcement is relaxed in private hotels. Public indecency, such as inappropriate behaviour or clothing, is punishable.

Online attacks on MSPs cross the line of decent debate as hate almost triples

Even if we disagree fundamentally with some of our MSPs' political positions, they deserve to be safe at work, Record View says. The number of abusive social media posts directed towards MSPs has almost tripled in the past year. According to research, MSPs have been on the receiving end of 23,500 abusive posts – an increase from 8000 the 12 months before. ‌ No matter your views on the performance of our politicans, this is unacceptable. ‌ While robust debate should always be welcomed – and our MSPs should expect a fair amount of anger from constituents – this onslaught of online hate must end. Even if we disagree fundamentally with some of our MSPs ' political positions, they deserve to be safe at work. But it makes it almost impossible for them to engage with voters when they are on the receiving end of so much online abuse. Some will argue MSPs should just get on with it and these hateful messages are nothing more than keyboard warriors letting off steam. But we all know nasty bile poured out online can seep into the real world. ‌ We saw the worst of this in 2016, when Labour MP Jo Cox was murdered just a week before the Brexit referendum. If we want politics to make our lives better and spark real change, then we need to engage with ideas and real debate. ‌ We should disagree with our politicians. We should argue with them. We can think outside the box and put forward radical ideas. But the minute we start to abuse, threaten and hate those we disagree with, a line has been crossed. There is no excuse for it and those who engage in such tactics deserve nothing but disdain. ‌ Stay sun-sible Scots will be baking in the hottest day of the year so far today – with the temperature in Jedburgh set to top Tenerife. With the mercury soaring as high as 29C, many of us will be heading for beaches and parks to enjoy the great outdoors and a few drinks.
