Arnold Schwarzenegger reveals how ‘nasty' feud with Sylvester Stallone finally ended: ‘We hated each other'

Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone had an infamous years-long feud as two of the biggest action movie stars in the 1990s that, according to Schwarzenegger, got resolved thanks to a business venture with Planet Hollywood.
'We hated each other,' Schwarzenegger, 77, recalled on Andy Cohen's SiriusXM radio show this week.

'We were kind of attacking each other and doing nasty things and saying nasty things about each other and all these stupid things,' the 'Terminator' said.
'All of a sudden,' Schwarzenegger continued, 'I started working with Robert Earl and Keith Parish to create the Planet Hollywood franchise, those restaurants. The next thing I know is I get a phone call from my lawyer, who was also Sly's lawyer, he said, 'Arnold, is there any kind of room for Sly in Planet Hollywood?' '

Schwarzenegger recalled thinking that getting Sylvester, 78, involved in the endeavor was 'actually a good idea, because it could bring us together.'
'And I wanted that,' the 'Fubar' star stated. 'At that point I had grown out of my craziness.'

'Sure enough, we made it work,' Schwarzenegger said. 'And Bruce Willis became part of Planet Hollywood, Whoopi Goldberg became part of Planet Hollywood, Chuck Norris. It really was kind of an international cast.'
Planet Hollywood launched in New York City in 1991 with the backing of A-listers including Schwarzenegger, Stallone, Willis, Demi Moore and others.
Schwarzenegger and Stallone — who worked together on the 'Expendables' movies and 2013's 'Escape Plan' after making up — have been open about the context of their feud.

'We were movie rivals, but we took the competitiveness to the extreme — we each had to have the best body, we had to kill more people in our films, and we had to have the biggest guns,' Schwarzenegger said on 'The Graham Norton Show' in Oct. 2023.
'It got out of control, and we tried to derail each other,' the 'True Lies' star continued, explaining that after the pair invested in Planet Hollywood they 'became fantastic friends' and 'are now inseparable.'

When the actors did a joint interview for a 2024 TMZ special titled 'Arnold & Sly: Rivals, Friends, Icons,' Stallone admitted that he viewed Schwarzenegger as 'competition' and 'a threat' when he burst onto the movie scene.

'As soon as I saw him, it was like bang, two alphas hitting,' said Stallone.

In second place was The Survivors, an Australian whodunit series that tallied 9M views in its second week on the streamer. Sirens also continued to perform fairly well, coming in third place with 4.3M views. That was closely followed by crime thriller Dept. Q in fourth place, also with 4.3M views. As for the film side of things, Tyler Perry's Straw picked up an impressive 48.9M views, making it both the biggest week this year for a movie and the biggest week for a 2025 launch. That's a positive sign that we may see it eventually land among Netflix's most popular English films of all time. Audiences also revisited the OceanGate submersible disaster in the new Netflix documentary Titan, which premiered recently at Tribeca Film Festival. A lifestyle and culinary icon recently took a firm position on the age-old debate of whether ketchup belongs on hot dogs or not. Martha Stewart, founder of Martha Stewart Living, expressed her opinion in an Instagram reel on June 17. 'I love hot dogs with the works,' Stewart said in the video. She added, 'It has to have bacon, mustard, ketchup, relish, sauerkraut.' Her endorsement of ketchup on hot dogs polarized some of her fans — especially those in the Windy City. New Jersey-based dietitian Erin Palinski-Wade told Fox News Digital she encourages incorporating ketchup into more meals. 'You need ketchup on your hot dog,' she said, sharing her insights as 'a registered dietitian and mom of three,' she added. 'Not only does it enhance the flavor, but adding ketchup offers some real health benefits.' The dietitian said ketchup contains high amounts of lycopene, which has cancer-fighting properties. '[These] benefits [are] thanks to its high content of lycopene, which is more bioavailable in ketchup versus raw tomatoes due to the cooking process involved in making ketchup.' Palinski-Wade added, 'Studies link higher dietary intake of lycopene from tomatoes and ketchup with a reduced risk of stomach and prostate cancer, thanks to lycopene's antioxidant and anticancer properties.' Tennis star Kei Nishikori caught up in messy scandal after alleged years-long affair with model
Japanese tennis star Kei Nishikori was getting a little too much love off the court. The world's No. 61 player is alleged to be having a years-long affair with model Azuki Oguchi by Japanese tabloid Shukan Bunshun. Nishikori gave a statement to the outlet. 'I deeply apologize for causing discomfort to everyone who supports me: tennis fans, associations, sponsors, and other related parties, and for their concern and inconvenience due to my dishonest behavior,' Nishikori said in a statement. The tennis star shares two children with Yamaguchi, ages 4 and 1. 'Moving forward, in order to fulfill my role as a responsible member of society, I will focus solely on tennis competitions and achieving results,' his statement continued.
