Blumhouse Acquiring ‘Saw' Rights From Twisted Pictures
EXCLUSIVE: In a deal that will bring James Wan back in touch with the mega horror IP he first created, we hear from several sources that Blumhouse is acquiring the perspective rights to Twisted Pictures' portion of the Saw franchise.
In short, Blumhouse is essentially taking over the IP's ownership from Twisted's Mark Burg and Oren Koules. Lionsgate will continue to be involved as a partner, and in fact owns 50% of the franchise.

As of this time, there isn't development on another movie yet. Wan directed the first Saw movie in 2004 and co-wrote with Leigh Whannell. Wan remained an EP on remaining Saw movies.
Saw follows the notorious serial killer John 'Jigsaw' Kramer and his cronies. Instead of killing his victims, he traps them in life-threatening tests and games as they try to survive through physical or psychological torture. The Saw franchise not only grossed over $1 billion at the global box office from ten movies, but spawned comic books, video games, theme park attractions, toys, masks and clothing.
The first Saw movie opened to $18.6M and made $56M domestic, $104M worldwide.
There was a Saw XI movie in development that was previously scheduled for September 2025. However, the project was stalled. Lionsgate and the producers of the Saw franchise didn't see eye-to-eye on the eleventh movie. Saw XI scribes Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan turned in a draft in 2024 with Saw X director Kevin Greutert attached to direct. His 2023 version opened to $18.3M domestic, finaled at $53.6M stateside and went north of $112M global.

Russell Crowe Lends His Russell Crowe-ness to ‘Highlander'
After years of false starts, the next Highlander movie is finally coming from director Chad Stahelski and with Henry Cavill in the lead role. Cavill's been the only casting we've known about for some time, but now we know his former movie dad, Russell Crowe, is along for the ride. Per Collider, Crowe will play a 'key role' opposite Cavill, who's still expected to be playing immortal warrior Connor MacLeod. As for Crowe, that's a little tougher to determine; some outlets (like Deadline) have claimed he'll be playing a new version of Ramirez, Connor's mentor previously portrayed by Sean Connery. Meanwhile, Collider noted that or the first film's big bad Kurgan (played in the original by Clancy Brown) as likely picks. Both of them feel like roles Crowe could play pretty well, don't you think? Alternatively, it could be a brand-new character: Stahelski's previously indicated this new Highlander would go 'beyond' present day locations like Hong Kong and New York and feature 'another kind of myth.' If Lionsgate and Amazon MGM want to make more of these, having some new characters to play around with would help shake things up for those expecting a straight remake. Amazon's Road House from 2024 did this, and it's getting a sequel, so there's a blueprint to work with here. Either way, the new Highlander is said to begin filming in October. New M3GAN 2.0 Featurette Teases a 'bigger,' 'badder,' and 'bloodier' Sequel — GeekTyrant
Universal Pictures has released a new featurette for Blumhouse's M3GAN 2.0 , and it offers a behind-the-scene look at the upcoming crazy robot vs. robot action comedy horror film. The video features interviews with the cast and crew and they tease a 'bigger', badder,' and 'bloodier' sequel 'in the best way'. The movie also look even more ridiculous than the first one. The film takes place two years after M3GAN , 'a marvel of artificial intelligence, went rogue and embarked on a murderous (and impeccably choreographed) rampage and was subsequently destroyed, M3GAN's creator Gemma (Allison Williams) has become a high-profile author and advocate for government oversight of A.I. Meanwhile, Gemma's niece Cady (Violet McGraw), now 14, has become a teenager, rebelling against Gemma's overprotective rules. 'Unbeknownst to them, the underlying tech for M3GAN has been stolen and misused by a powerful defense contractor to create a military-grade weapon known as Amelia (Ivanna Sakhno), the ultimate killer infiltration spy. But as Amelia's self-awareness increases, she becomes decidedly less interested in taking orders from humans. Or in keeping them around. 'With the future of human existence on the line, Gemma realizes that the only option is to resurrect M3GAN (Amie Donald, voiced by Jenna Davis) and give her a few upgrades, making her faster, stronger, and more lethal. As their paths collide, the original A.I bitch is about to meet her match.' James Wan is producing the film for Atomic Monster, Jason Blum for Blumhouse and Gerard Johnstoneis back to direct the next wild chapter of A.I. robot mayhem. Akela Cooper ( Malignant, M3GAN ) returned to write the script. The upcoming horror sequel co-stars returning cast members Brian Jordan Alvarez and Jen Van Epps as Gemma's loyal tech teammates, Cole and Tess, and new characters played by Aristotle Athari, Timm Sharp and Jemaine Clement. M3GAN 2.0 will be released in theaters on June 27, 2025.

St. Vincent Taps Mon Laferte for Spanglish Duet of ‘Violent Times'
Last year, St. Vincent reimagined her LP All Born Screaming in Spanish, releasing Todos Nacen Gritando in November. Now, she's bringing along the stunnning vocals of Mon Laferte to add a twist to the en español version of 'Violent Times,' or 'Tiempos Violentos.' 'When I first heard the Spanish version, I felt a deep attraction,' Mon Laferte says of the song. 'It was beautiful and haunting. I wanted to give it my own voice, make it my own too, and do it alongside an artist I've long admired.' Todos Nacen Gritando heard St. Vincent recreate all 10 songs form her original album, but in Spanish, including songs such as 'Hell Is Near' and 'Big Time Nothing,' which she translated to 'El Infierno Está Cerca' and 'El Mero Cero.' I have had some of my favorite shows of my life in Spanish-speaking countries, and I'm always kind of blown away by the fact that people will sing along with my songs in perfect English, and that it could be their second or third or fourth language,' St. Vincent told Rolling Stone last year. 'I've always loved Spanish and wanted to be better at it, frankly. So this was a double whammy where I could get better at the language that I love and also meet people halfway.' The St. Vincent collaboration follows Laferte's 'Otra Noche de Llorar,' which she dropped in March, and last year's 'Obra de Dios.' She released her album Autopoiética in 2023.
