Singer Rod Stewart has revealed how playing at Glastonbury is costing him a staggering £300,000. The star - who it's thought is being paid significantly less to perform in the Legends slot - says: 'It's actually cost me £300,000 to do the show because I've got to bring all the band back from America and I've got to take them all the way back to America.'
He added to the Sidetracked podcast that he couldn't even get any free tickets, saying: 'Believe it or not, my kids, three of them, all bought their own tickets, because Glastonbury give nothing away. Nothing.Everybody asks me for tickets. All the time. Everywhere. People just come out of the woodwork. 'Oh, you haven't spoken to me for 25 years. Any chance I could have a ticket?''

Rod also opened up about his 80th birthday in a separate interview with Zoe Ball. He said: 'I love a shindig - we had a 280ft yacht - I rented it out for 10 days for all my kids and their kids and their husbands, 16 of us all together, and it cost me a fortune, but you can't take it with me.'

The rail-enthusiast singer, who is married to Penny Lancaster, added that he wasn't easy to buy presents for unless it was 'from the model railway world...and then I am very happy.'
The rocker also spoke about his training to stay in shape.
He said: 'I'm making this documentary about all my training and what I do. I can run 100 meters in 19 seconds. The record is 17 seconds.'
His comments come after he was forced to cancel a series of shows, including those at his Las Vegas residency, as he was ill.
While he recently announced that his current tour will be the end of the 'large-scale' world tours, he has no intention to quit the music scene.

The rock legend previously wrote on Instagram: 'This will be the end of large-scale world tours for me, but I have no desire to retire. I love what I do, and I do what I love. I'm fit, have a full head of hair, and can run 100 metres in 18 seconds at the jolly old age of 79.'

The music festival, which usually has capacity for 210,000 people, sees British pop band The 1975, folk star Neil Young and his band the Chrome Hearts, and US pop singer Olivia Rodrigo topping the bill.

She added: 'We've also sold a few thousand less tickets, so it will be interesting just to see how that affects the dynamics on site.'
The first group of tickets for the event sold out in 30 minutes last November, with the second lot selling out in fewer than 40.
Eavis said times have changed, adding: 'There were years where you just couldn't sell out, you just couldn't give them (the tickets) away.'
The line-up features a number of acts listed as TBA, as well as a mysterious act called Patchwork, who will take to the Pyramid Stage on Saturday.
Eavis said: 'I've been working on Patchwork for a long time.' They are rumoured to be either Pulp or Haim.

The French venue had been rented for a wedding, but the organisers did not disclose their plans to Disney. According to reports from BFM TV in France, Disneyland Paris was misled about the event's nature. The organiser allegedly impersonated a Latvian national and used fraudulent documents to secure the contract for the park's privatisation. Reports suggest guests were recruited online through advertisements seeking 200 adults and 100 children aged between five and 15 to act as attendees at a 'rehearsal' for a Disneyland wedding. BFM obtained video footage showing approximately 100 seated guests awaiting the ceremony while a female violin trio performed at dawn on a stage adorned with flowers. The event reportedly cost around £110,000. "Four people were arrested and questioned: the groom, who was believed to be the organiser of the event and is presumed to be British, aged 22; the mother of the child, a 41-year-old Ukrainian woman; and two Latvian nationals aged 55 and 24", according to a statement from the prosecutor's office in the nearby town of Meaux, France. The 55-year-old Latvian man alleges he was hired to impersonate the bride's father for 12,000 euros, only to discover at the last minute she was nine years old, as per local news reports. Disneyland Paris informed French newspaper Le Parisien its team promptly shut down the event and prevented guests from entering the venue. The nature of the wedding remains uncertain, whether it was a publicity stunt or an actual ceremony. A medical examination revealed that the young girl had not been subjected to any violence, stated the prosecutor's office. A police source indicated the groom claims to be the head of a production company and they were filming a video. An updated statement from the prosecutor's office clarified: "So it wasn't a wedding, but a staged wedding filmed with around a hundred extras. When one man saw film crews working their magic in Benidorm, he and other desperate fans all jumped to the same sitcom-related conclusion - but some disputed it Rumours are circulating in Benidorm that something exciting is happening – and it's all about the TV show of the same name. The last series of Benidorm aired in the UK in 2018. But when a TikToker spotted a film crew in Benidorm, he jumped to the conclusion that they must be filming the elusive 11th series. ‌ Harry, a Brit in Benidorm who posts on TikTok as @harrytokky, wrote over the top of a video of a film crew on the strip: "Breaking news. Film crews are filming right now in Benidorm outside the Red Lion". ‌ At the bottom of the video, he penned: "Wait... are they filming Benidorm series 11 right now?! What do you think?" He showed the camera crew filming, as he gushed: "Holy moly, this is unbelievable". In the short clip, someone in the background could be heard saying they thought it was Benidorm series 11. However, in the comments, people were sceptical, and one woman even put the rumour to bed with the information she'd managed to get from film crews. "I doubt they'd film in peak season," a sceptic wrote, but someone shared: "Another 4 weeks until peak season. They film in the 'Solana' with people on holiday there. They just close off one end of the pool". "They use the tourists as extras in Benidorm, it's well known," another man alleged. ‌ Others shared that it couldn't be Benidorm, because none of the beloved actors could be seen in the video. One fumed: "Not hard to tell if it's Benidorm or not." And another penned: "Not to be a Debbie Downer, but Benidorm hasn't officially been commissioned, so unless this is for an announcement ad (which I highly doubt), it's not Benidorm unfortunately". But someone argued, saying: "Makes sense it would be Benidorm though, cause Darren and all the main cast have been cryptic as f*** lately online trying to hint to the fans about a season 11 coming, wouldn't talk about it if there was no chance and now this. I'd say it's likely I can't lie". However, others said they'd seen the crew themselves and stopped to ask more questions. The Damned announce 50th anniversary show at Wembley Arena
