
Six injured in Tuaran crash involving van, car

Published on: Sun, Jun 15, 2025 Text Size: The crash scene. - Pic by JBPM TUARAN: Six people sustained minor injuries in a two-vehicle collision involving a Toyota Hiace van and a Proton Saga along Jalan Tamparuli-Ranau near Kampung Togop here on Sunday afternoon. The Fire and Rescue Department received the call at 2.47pm and arrived at the scene 35 minutes later, with personnel from Tuaran station assisted by Health Ministry and Civil Defence ambulances.

Back-to-back vehicle fires destroy two vehicles in Betong, damage one in Kuching, no injuries reported
KUCHING, June 21 — A van and a sedan were completely destroyed in Betong, while a hatchback was partially damaged in a separate incident in Bandar Baru Samariang here, yesterday morning. According to the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), the first distress call was received at 10.59am regarding the fire along Jalan Bebuling in Betong. The second incident, which occurred in a residential area in Bandar Baru Samariang, Kuching, was reported about 50 minutes later. 'In Kuching at Bandar Baru Samariang, the hatchback was about 60 per cent destroyed,' Bomba said. Firefighters responded swiftly to both scenes and managed to extinguish the flames. Fuel tanker catches fire near Taman Indah Permai

The Fire and Rescue Department received the emergency call at 11.31pm and arrived at the scene by 11.49pm, with the fire brought under control within 17 minutes. Advertisement No casualties were reported, but about 30 per cent of the tanker was damaged, with 30 personnel from Kota Kinabalu and Lintas fire stations deployed. The team used water tankers, foam, hose reels, and a thermal imaging camera to safely cool the tank and ensure no risk of reignition. Motorcyclist killed in three-vehicle crash at Bukit Kelawat

KOTA BELUD: A motorcyclist was killed in a three-vehicle collision involving a 10-tonne lorry along Jalan Kota Belud-Tuaran at Bukit Kelawat on Thursday morning. The 44-year-old man died at the scene from severe injuries sustained in the 7.10am crash. Advertisement Police said the incident involved a lorry, a Toyota Hilux, and the victim's motorcycle. A preliminary investigation found the lorry lost control while descending Bukit Kelawat and hit the Hilux before crashing into the motorcycle.
