Ex-Celtic midfielder's verdict on Odsonne Edouard return
The French forward left Celtic Park in 2021, joining Premier League side Crystal Palace after a successful four-year stint in Glasgow.
Edouard scored 87 goals and provided 37 assists in 179 appearances for the Hoops.

However, with his future at Palace uncertain, Allan was asked if his old club might be interested in their former star.
Speaking on Clyde 1 Superscoreboard, Allan said: "I would, yeah.
"Fantastic player.
"It's obviously a position that Celtic will be looking to add to."
Allan also suggested Edouard could bolster Celtic's attacking options alongside Daizen Maeda.
He said: "I think we might see Daizen Maeda go back out to that wide area, where he was so effective in terms of his pressing and getting up and down the pitch.
"He'll be looking to add to his goal tally come next season.
"I think there's no question that it's an area of the park where Celtic need to strengthen."
The 27-year-old Edouard has one year left on his Palace contract after a lacklustre loan spell at Leicester City.
Allan, however, foresees a potential hurdle in a Celtic return: "I think the problem with the boys that are playing in the Premier League is that there's now the chance to go to the Saudi League, where they can earn ridiculous amounts of money."
Allan also expects Celtic to scout for another potential star like Edouard.

A former Scotland international has been praised for his 'crucial' role in Florian Wirtz's record breaking move to Liverpool this summer - just three years after a move to Celtic collapsed at the final hurdle. The 22-year-old had his £116million transfer from Bayer Leverkusen rubber stamped yesterday, with Wirtz now becoming the English Premier League's record signing, surpassing the previous record transfer of £115million, which Chelsea paid Brighton for Moises Caicedo in 2023. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad According to European sports outlet Bild, the German international is in line to earn a weekly salary of at least £325,000 at Anfield, and joins ex-Celtic full-back - and former Leverkusen teammate - Jeremie Frimpong as the Merseyside giants second major transfer of the summer window. 'The talks with the coach and Richard [Hughes] and everybody were, from the start or from the very first time, so good,' Wirtz told Liverpool's official media channel. 'It just kept going like this. Every time I spoke to one of the [people from] the club I felt like, 'this is the place I want to be' and so in the end I was really 100 per cent convinced I want to join Liverpool and it was the best choice.' Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano also heaped praise on Hughes, writing on his official X account: 'The Liverpool director has been crucial to make the deal happen. Three months of hard work behind the scenes to get Florian's green light in May and close the deal with Leverkusen on Tuesday last week.' Poached from a similar role at AFC Bournemouth, the 45-year-old has been lauded for his work in replacing popular former manager Jurgen Klopp with Dutch head coach Slot last summer. However, it has been his work as a sporting director that has garnered the most attention. First joining the Cherries recruitment team following his retirement in 2014, he was appointed the club's technical director just two years later. Hughes found himself lined up for a similar role at Celtic in 2021, with the Hoops former managerial target Eddie Howe said to have been desperate to bring him to Glasgow if he was appointed manager at Celtic Park.

Rangers 'set' to offer Nicolas Raskin new deal amid interest
The Belgian has been linked with clubs in England and his former manager Philippe Clement even suggested he is ready to sign for a top half Premier League side after emerging as a leading player in the Gers squad last season. Raskin is currently contracted at Ibrox until 2027, meaning he would be heading into next summer's break with just a year left on his deal. The Scottish Sun is reporting new manager Russell Martin is keen to build his team around the 24-year-old and, as such, wants him tied down on a new contract. Sporting director Kevin Thelwell is on the same page and is ready to sanction an offer. Read more: Thelwell, along with the new US owners, want a far better player trading model in place. And committing Raskin to a new deal would be one step towards that. It would mean any interested clubs would then be aware they would be required to make a significant offer to prise him away. Discussions are yet to take place between Rangers chiefs and Raskin's representatives, but they are in the offing. It is believed the Belgium international is happy at Ibrox and keen to prolong his stay.

Celtic face battle to land Sondre Ørjasæter with PSV frontrunners
The Sarpsborg winger has been of interest to the Hoops since January, but a move hasn't materialised. It was suggested back then that £7 million would secure his services. However, it is now claimed that the 21-year-old has an increased asking price and is still on Celtic's radar. French club Lille are also interested. According to TV Sport 2 in Norway, Dutch side PSV are leading the race for the winger. Ørjasæter told the Norwegian outlet: "Now I feel ready to take the step, while I am doing well here with full focus on Sarpsborg. "A transfer is not something I think about very much. "I think that if it happens, it happens. "It's not like I'll be depressed if there's no transition."
