Why Lennon Miller won't sign for Celtic despite being 'perfect' transfer revealed by Motherwell hero
The Fir Park teenager picked up his first Scotland caps and is set to bank his club a big fee this summer Lennon Miller has been labelled the perfect signing for Celtic's midfield. But former Motherwell star Ross McCormack has revealed why he doesn't think the talented teen would make the move to Brendan Rodgers' side as he shared the 'noises' he's been hearing over his next step. The Fir Park top talent is set to net his club a major windfall this summer with his future destined to be away from the club. There has already been interest from Serie A and the Bundesliga while EPL new boys Sunderland have also been mentioned in regards to the new Scotland international. Celtic and Rangers have also both been urged to make their moves by pundits and ex-pros alike across the past few months. McCormack - speaking on Clyde 1 Superscoreboard - revealed from what he is hearing that his likely step will be to move abroad and after watching international team-mates in Serie A winning the Scudetto and Coppa Italia he admits it would be hard to blame him. He explained: "I've said it for quite a while that I think he would be perfect in Celtic's midfield. "But from all the noises that I have heard - sort of people who are in and around Motherwell and all that - seems to be that he is going to be going abroad. "To be honest with you, it is hard to blame the kid. "When he sees the success your Lewis Ferguson, Scott McTominay and Billy Gilmour's are having over in Serie A, he might just want a piece of that and sort of get out of the limelight which Glasgow would bring. "For me, he would be absolutely tremendous for Celtic." Talk then turned to whether his decision would be based on game-time after being the main man at Motherwell, McCormack continued: "No player can go to any club in the world and be guaranteed to start. That is just impossible and doesn't happen. "But what he will be looking at - and what John said [caller] is the big, big problem for Celtic if they do want him. "[Reo] Hatate is in there and is one of their most influential players when he is at it. Callum McGregor is the captain and the other one is Arne Engels. And by the way I would favour Lennon Miller over, but they paid £11million for him. "So is he going to get into that midfield right away? Probably not. "I think that is the reason why Lennon Miller would not choose Celtic." Ex-Celtic star tells club to make move for Odsonne Edouard
The former Celtic striker, now at Crystal Palace, has a year left on his contract but is currently out of the first-team picture. Since his £15 million move four years ago, Edouard has netted only 21 goals—a stark contrast to his prolific days at Parkhead. A return to Celtic could help the 27-year-old revitalise his career, similar to Kieran Tierney and Jota who made successful returns. Allan, who played alongside Edouard during his time at Celtic, thinks the club should aim to bring him back. Read more: He said on Clyde 1 Superscoreboard: "I would (take him back), yeah. "Fantastic player. "It's obviously a position that Celtic will be looking to add to." Allan added that with Daizen Maeda potentially moving back to the wide positions, there could be a spot for Edouard. He said: "I think we might see Daizen Maeda go back out to that wide area, where he was so effective in terms of his pressing and getting up and down the pitch. "He'll be looking to add to his goal tally come next season. "I think there's no question that it's an area of the park where Celtic need to strengthen." Edouard's return could provide the boost Celtic need to remain competitive in the upcoming season.

Odsonne Edouard to Celtic transfer rumour reignited by man who knows him and the 4 glaring reasons it makes sense
The stars might just be aligning for the Frenchman's long-speculated return to Celtic Park Odsonne Edouard has once again been talked up for a return to Celtic – but this time, there might just be more than one reason it makes sense. The Parkhead side have exploded into life in this transfer window with Kieran Tierney in the door and deals for Benjamin Nygren and Fulham striker Callum Osmand at advanced stages. They're not stopping there either. We're expecting at least two more arrivals beyond that – with a new left-back to provide backup for Tierney and another striker expected in the door. Edouard, who has frequently been linked with a move back to Parkhead in the past, could tick that last box. Brendan Rodgers of course was the manager who took him to Celtic in the first place back in 2017, setting the wheels in motion that eventually earned him a £15m move down south. And after a disappointing spell on loan at Leicester, his hunger for a move back to Scotland to reignite his career is likely to be higher than ever before. His only other option, as things stand, appears to be a move to Saudi Arabia. Crystal Palace are likely to be willing to cut ties too as he enters the final year on his deal so those three reasons mean it looks like an attainable option. But more than all of that, he looks a direct fit for the current recruitment plan taking place – with Rodgers seemingly keen on another outright number nine to facilitate Daizen Maeda 's move back out to the left wing. Scott Allan, who knows Edouard from his own time at Celtic Park, said on Clyde 1 Superscoreboard: 'I would (take him back), yeah. Fantastic player. It's obviously a position that Celtic will be looking to add to. I think we might see Daizen Maeda go back out to that wide area, where he was so effective in terms of his pressing and getting up and down the pitch. 'He'll be looking to add to his goal tally come next season. I think there's no question that it's an area of the park where Celtic need to strengthen.' That was something alluded to by our man Michael Gannon on Hotline Live over the weekend, with a new striker sought to compete with Adam Idah and incoming Osmand – who may be expected to assume the Johnny Kenny role of third choice striker with the Irishman freed up for a loan move away. He said: "If you look at the left side with Daizen Maeda – they're looking to bring in a striker, so that will free Maeda up to go back into that position. "He had a brilliant season up front but I still think they'll buy a striker. Jota might be out until 2026 so it's an area they need to address. "Nygren can play both sides so he might be another option there. It's a good profile of signing because he can play right across the forward line and fill in those gaps at times, because there are a few gaps in there. "Osmand might take that third-choice spot. They could give him a year just to get used to his surroundings. There could be a loan deal beyond that, this is a long-term strategy."

Ex-Celtic midfielder's verdict on Odsonne Edouard return
The French forward left Celtic Park in 2021, joining Premier League side Crystal Palace after a successful four-year stint in Glasgow. Edouard scored 87 goals and provided 37 assists in 179 appearances for the Hoops. Read more: However, with his future at Palace uncertain, Allan was asked if his old club might be interested in their former star. Speaking on Clyde 1 Superscoreboard, Allan said: "I would, yeah. "Fantastic player. "It's obviously a position that Celtic will be looking to add to." Allan also suggested Edouard could bolster Celtic's attacking options alongside Daizen Maeda. He said: "I think we might see Daizen Maeda go back out to that wide area, where he was so effective in terms of his pressing and getting up and down the pitch. "He'll be looking to add to his goal tally come next season. "I think there's no question that it's an area of the park where Celtic need to strengthen." The 27-year-old Edouard has one year left on his Palace contract after a lacklustre loan spell at Leicester City. Allan, however, foresees a potential hurdle in a Celtic return: "I think the problem with the boys that are playing in the Premier League is that there's now the chance to go to the Saudi League, where they can earn ridiculous amounts of money." Allan also expects Celtic to scout for another potential star like Edouard.

Scott Allan gives verdict on Odsonne Edouard Celtic return
Edouard departed Parkhead in 2021 for Premier League outfit Crystal Palace. The Frenchman enjoyed a successful four years at Parkhead, scoring 87 goals and assisting 37 across 179 appearances in all competitions. Read more: With his future uncertain this summer, Allan was asked whether Edouard may be on the radar of his old club: "I would, yeah," he said live on Clyde 1 Superscoreboard. "Fantastic player. It's obviously a position that Celtic will be looking to add to. "I think we might see Daizen Maeda go back out to that wide area, where he was so effective in terms of his pressing and getting up and down the pitch. "He'll be looking to add to his goal tally come next season. I think there's no question that it's an area of the park where Celtic need to strengthen." Now 27 years of age, Edouard currently has a year remaining on his Palace contract after a far from inspiring loan spell at Leicester City. Although his stock might be low, Allan sees one potential issue with a move: "I think the problem with the boys that are playing in the Premier League is that there's now the chance to go to the Saudi League, where they can earn ridiculous amounts of money," he said. "The Kieran Tierney one is completely different because he's a huge Celtic fan and he's been dying to get back home and probably feels like he's got unfinished business at Celtic. "So it'll be interesting but I do feel that Celtic will be looking to find the next Odsonne Edouard where they can get a tune from them and then make money from them."
