Tramell Tillman could make Emmy history as the first Black Best Drama Supporting Actor winner
In 2015, Viola Davis won the Best Drama Actress Emmy for How to Get Away with Murder, becoming the category's first Black winner. That left one acting category that had yet to produce a Black champ: Best Drama Supporting Actor. Ten years later, that remains the case — even the short form acting categories, which were created in 2016 and consolidated into one in 2024, have awarded Black performers — but that could finally change in September with Severance star Tramell Tillman.
Tillman is currently in third place in Gold Derby's Best Drama Supporting Actor odds, trailing Walton Goggins (The White Lotus) and Severance costar John Turturro. Tillman is the only Black performer in the top seven. Jason Isaacs (The White Lotus), Jack Lowden (Slow Horses), Sam Rockwell (The White Lotus), and Patrick Schwarzenegger (The White Lotus) round out the predicted field.

Tillman was not nominated for the first season in 2022, not surprising for an unknown actor on a new show. Severance received 14 nominations for Season 1 and the Best Drama Series frontrunner is expected to expand this year. If Tillman makes the cut amid a possible deluge by White Lotus dudes, a win — and a historic one at that — is certainly not out of the question. The Apple TV+ drama was bigger than ever in Season 2, and Tramell got to shine even brighter as his Lumon stooge Seth Milchick faced a crisis of confidence, leading to his instantly viral line, "Devour feculence." Oh, and there was the whole Choreography and Merriment marching band dance. It also doesn't hurt that the actor has brought his unique line deliveries to Mission: Impossible — The Final Reckoning.
SEE The ultimate oral history of Severance Season 2
It's not surprising Turturro is ahead of Tillman in the odds. He's a bigger name and a past winner who was nominated for Season 1 and had meaty material early in Season 2 before a diminished presence in the back half. Tillman had a consistent presence and arc throughout the season, ending with a bang with the aforementioned dance sequence (Turturro was MIA in the finale). And voters have shown through the years that when they're paying attention to a show — and there's no reason to think they're not paying attention to Severance — the underdog can topple the "obvious" frontrunner or bigger name (see: Jodie Comer beating her heavily predicted Killing Eve co-star Sandra Oh). Of course, Goggins is the frontrunner, not Turturro. And taking down The White Lotus, an acting branch fave, will be tougher.
Formally established in 1970, Best Drama Supporting Actor has seen 13 Black actors receive 23 nominations over the years. 2021 was the last year with a Black nominee — and there were a record three: Giancarlo Esposito (The Mandalorian), O-T Fagbenle (The Handmaid's Tale), and Michael K. Williams (Lovecraft Country), who died shortly after voting ended. They lost to Tobias Menzies (The Crown). There have been POC nominees since then, however, with Squid Game stars Park Hae-soo and O Yeong-su in 2022, The White Lotus' Will Sharpe, who is half-Japanese, in 2023, and Shōgun duo Tadanobu Asano and Takehiro Hira in 2024.

Leslie Bibb Set the Record Straight on Why She Hasn't Married Sam Rockwell After 18 Years Together
After both starring in season 3 of The White Lotus, fans are realizing how sweet Leslie Bibb and Sam Rockwell are more than ever before. The duo, who have been together for 18 years, are a true Hollywood power couple, but have no plans to walk down the aisle anytime soon. As this week's guest co-host of the Today Show with Jenna Bush Hager, Bibb finally explained why they've never 'put a ring on it.' More from SheKnows Eric Dane Was Reportedly Dating Two Women Before His Red Carpet Debut With Janell Shirtcliff 'Listen, I love Sam Rockwell,' she told Bush Hager of the Oscar winner. 'I would put him in my pocket and carry him with me all the time. I love him, [but] I do not want to get married.' Bush Hager then asked if it was something that came up at the beginning of their relationship. As it turns out, Rockwell even annoyed her by asking her over and over again if she was sure. 'He kept saying, 'Really, you don't want to get married?'' Bibb remembered. ''Stop asking me as if I'm gonna pull a sneak on you,' but he didn't want it either.' 'Maybe it's probably something about the way we grew up, but I feel like if it ain't broke, don't fix it,' she said. Bibb then went on to say that all relationships, regardless of being married or not, have their ups and downs. 'I think this is an ideal that has been ingrained in us of long hair, fairytale, that someone's gonna come in and if we're in a relationship, everything will be okay,' she said. '[But] it's not gonna be okay, stuff happens, and it's gonna be highs and lows.' She also added that she never wanted to become a mom. 'I just don't have that chip in me,' she shared. And, despite the 18 years together, it seems Bibb and Rockwell are keeping their spark alive. 'I do think it gets better,' she said. 'I think the intimacy of a relationship is sexy to me. You can all have all the hot sex in the beginning, but you gotta reinvent.' Later on in the episode, Rockwell joined both Bibb and Bush Hager for an interview. There, Bush Hagr asked Rockwell about his first impressions of his girlfriend. 'We had that kind of thunderbolt, like 'Dream Weaver' moment in Wayne's World when we saw each other,' Rockwell gushed. 'I found out that she studied in the same acting school that I did, so that was really handy.' Bibb, on the other hand, tried to play it cool. 'I thought you were really cute and I pretended I didn't know who you were,' she remembered. Speaking of their first date, Rockwell remembered that they ended up extending their date to dinner after their day date went so well. 'It's good, you were single, you were ready to mingle,' she told him. 'And I just put my little talons and I said 'No, you're mine.'' 'And they're still in,' Rockwell added. Jason Isaacs Gave a Definite Answer to His Rumored Feud With 'White Lotus' Co-Star Parker Posey
Before the season 3 finale of The White Lotus even aired, feud rumors started to swirl about the stars of the show. Among the fan theories, for example, is that Jason Isaacs and Parker Posey, who played married couple Timothy and Victoria Ratliff in the series, didn't exactly get along. Now, he's shining some light on their dynamic. In a new interview with Vulture, Isaacs answered a question White Lotus fans have been asking themselves all along: Why has he seemed closer to his onscreen kids (Patrick Schwarznegger, Sarah Catherine Cook and Sam Nivola) than to his onscreen wife? More from SheKnows Leslie Bibb Set the Record Straight on Why She Hasn't Married Sam Rockwell After 18 Years Together 'She's Parker Posey,' Isaacs said when asked about what it was like working with her. 'She's everything you think she would be.' When pressed on the matter, Isaacs couldn't avoid hinting at some tension. 'She was playing someone out of her head, so she was given license to be bonkers,' he said. 'And then I'm playing someone out of my head.' 'So I didn't really look at her or talk to her or listen to her because I'm so much in my own tunnel,' he revealed. 'So, I can't really tell you what it's like to interact with her too much.' So while Isaacs didn't exactly confirm that he and Posey are feuding, he's finally admitted that they didn't get along. Whether that was because of their 'method acting' or their own personalities, however, it seems we'll never know. Previously, Isaacs discussed on-set drama in an April 9 episode of The Happy Hour on SiriusXM's TODAY Show Radio. Isaacs stated that while filming the show on location in Thailand, the cast and crew 'were in a little pressure cooker together.' 'Like anywhere you go for the summer, there's friendships, there's romances, there's arguments, there's cliques that form and break and reform and stuff like that,' he explained. Isaacs added that he's seen the rumors about who had issues on set, saying, 'I'm careful. I'm not stupid. I look at the Internet. I only read every single word written about The White Lotus and about everybody in it.' But assured fans that the 'amateur Sherlock Holmes' trying to figure out which cast members might be feuding don't have 'the slightest clue what they're talking about.' 'People who think they're onto something, and it then gets magnified because of a thousand other people. Nobody has any clue,' he said. Hopefully he'll keep the clues coming!Best of SheKnows 17 Movies & TV Shows That Educate About the History of American Slavery All of Chris Martin's Confirmed & Rumored Relationships Over the Years 13 Times Meghan Markle Reminded Us So Much of Princess Diana

Sam Rockwell initially considered teleprompter for White Lotus monologue
Sam Rockwell has revealed that he initially considered using a teleprompter for his monologue in The White Lotus. Earlier this year, the actor went viral after making a surprise appearance in the latest season of The White Lotus, delivering a wild monologue that stole the show. In a new interview with GQ, Rockwell admitted that he had been worried about memorising the lengthy and emotional monologue. "Well, I joked with (creator) Mike White and the producers that I might possibly need an earwig, a teleprompter kind of thing, because I was fearful that I wouldn't know the lines," he explained. However, the actor then revealed that his partner, Leslie Bibb, who played Kate in the show, helped him learn his lines. "Leslie came to visit me on the other movie and drilled me on the lines and ran them over and over again on safari in Africa," he divulged. "They did have an earwig prepped, but I never needed it. I did the first take in one take in a close-up." Explaining his decision to do a close-up, Rockwell said that he wanted the scene to be like a "confessional" as his character was "revealing this really secret part of himself". Rockwell shot his character Frank's monologue scene alongside Walton Goggins, who played his longtime friend Rick. "I couldn't do the monologue without Walt. Walt is my tennis player," he said of his "incredibly helpful" co-star. "We've been friends for such a long time and we were playing friends in the show," he continued. "And, you know, Walt and I have seen things in real life that I wouldn't even know if it really happened unless I called Walt and said, 'Hey, did that really happen?' And he would say, 'Yeah, dude, that really happened.'"
