UP TO SPEED Over 27 MILLION Brits receive huge mobile upgrade for free as Vodafone and Three announce raft of changes for customers
MILLIONS of Vodafone and Three customers are set for a huge boost to their mobile signal as the newly-merged mega network reveals its £11billion grand plans.

Customers will receive a 20 per cent average speed uplift on 4G.
And within a few months, 27million mobile subscribers across both Vodafone and Three will benefit from better signal with shared access across both networks at no extra cost, the new joint VodafoneThree firm claims.
This will eradicate dreaded "not spots" from 16,500 sq/km of the country – the equivalent to 10x the size of London.
VodafoneThree has confirmed that its various brands will remain separate.
This not only includes Vodafone and Three, but also VOXI, SMARTY and Talkmobile which piggyback on their network kit.
However, Vodafone will be the only brand for business customers.
"A new era of connectivity has begun," said Max Taylor, CEO of VodafoneThree.
"We will connect every nation, every community, in every corner of the UK.
"We will build the UK's best 5G network with an unprecedented £11bn privately funded infrastructure project, laying the digital foundation for our country's growth ambitions."
The network is pledging to bring 99.95 per cent of the population 5G Standalone - the fastest version of 5G speed around - by 2034.
Brits will always have mobile phone & internet signal at home after tech breakthrough that beats Elon Musk's Starlink
And by this time next year, bosses are planning to launch trials of space-based satellite mobile network coverage too to eliminate even more "not spots".
Chancellor Rachel Reeves said: "I'm delighted that this huge investment is being made in mobile phone network infrastructure, better connecting people with families, loved ones and work by providing stronger, more widespread 5G coverage."
BROADBAND SHAKE-UP
Changes are afoot for broadband services too.
Three's brand will disappear from its mobile broadband over the next 12 months and brought together with Vodafone's Full Fibre, all under the Vodafone name.
The firm has announced a new partnership with Community Fibre on top of existing deals with CityFibre and Openreach.
Two extra customer care centres are opening in Belfast and Sheffield as well, bringing 400 jobs back to the UK.
Vodafone and Three both operate their own stores across the country but the company says it has "no planned retail redundancies".
The £16.5billion tie-up makes VodafoneThree the UK's biggest mobile network.

This 'quiet' tower fan under £30 is 'the perfect antidote to the heatwave'
Keep coold amidst the rising temperatures by purchasing this affordable tower fan. Brits are currently sweltering with a heatwave hitting much of the UK this weekend. With scorching temperatures up and down the country, many are looking for ways to keep cool. One essential that is perfect for making the home a little more liveable during this time of year is a tower fan, and we know one that has been hailed as a "godsend" for this weather - and it costs less than £30. The budget-friendly device is the Igenix DF0030 Oscillating Tower Fan. Currently singled out as an 'Amazon Choice' product due to its popularity with shoppers, it costs just £29.99, which is significantly cheaper than similar models on the market. This 30-inch device boasts a power level of 45W and uses an oscillating function to ensure any room in the home gets a good breeze, with no corner of the home being left untouched by a cool breeze. Airflow can be tailored by using the three speed settings it comes complete with, while the firm's advanced engineering means it operates at an "imperceptible level", making the fan for use in the living room, office space and even overnight. Igenix DF0030 Oscillating Tower Fan £29.99 Amazon Buy here Product Description A few other nifty features include a two-hour timer, alongside an intelligent overheat protection that automatically shuts down the fan in case it overheats, adding a level of protection and peace of mind to buyers. Another popular option on Amazon for the heatwave is the Shark FlexBreeze TableMate Cordless Fan that is now £99, down from £149.99. While it features a different design, it is said to provide a breeze that can be felt "by up to 20M away." Like the tower-style design? Then the Bush Digital Grey Tower Fan, available for £43.33 over at Argos offers similar features such as an oscillating function and three speed settings to choose from. As for the Igenix Tower Fan, it's currently a popular buy on Amazon, averaging an impressive 4.5 rating based on over 5,000 reviews that have praised it as an "absolute lifesaver" and the "perfect antidote to the heatwave." One shopper exclaimed: "I was in two minds because of some negative reviews! Don't be fooled! This fan is absolutely superb! Very quiet, I actually find it soothing, it doesn't rattle, it doesn't smell. "It doesn't do anything wrong; it's a 5 star off me, I love it, kids love it, we all love it. Absolute life saver in this heat. Can't wait for bed tonight." Someone who called it "the perfect antidote to the heatwave" added: "Really like this tower-style oscillating fan. "It has a sleek and classy design, turns beautifully, it's not too loud (obviously it's not silent but it won't mean you have to shout to anyone else in the room in normal conversation), and the timer function means you can't forget about it and leave it on for hours on end, running up your electric bill while you're out of the house." Another delighted shopper wrote: "Works great! Ideal for the hot weather. It was a Godsend during the heatwave, I was so glad I put it in my bedroom at night." Not everyone has been left impressed with the power and sound levels, as one three-star review read: "Good for space saving but too noisy for me to have in room and not powerful enough for the noise payoff!" Although, more customers were happy with their purchase, as another said: "Excellent fan, really makes a difference in the mini heatwave we recently had and cooled the area down. Very effective even on the lowest setting." While someone else praised: "This has been very helpful in the London summers/ heatwaves. Works well. Noise level is low. Occupies less space. Price is also reasonable. Highly recommended. Thank you." Beat the heat by purchasing the Igenix DF0030 Oscillating Tower Fan for under £30 on Amazon now.

5 fans to beat the heat from Amazon, Shark, Dyson and more
As the UK sizzles in the first heatwave of 2025, we've found a selection of fans to keep Brits cool throughout the summer The UK is experiencing its first heatwave of 2025, with temperatures set to exceed 30C for the second consecutive day on Friday (June 20). Some parts of the country are expected to reach 32C, with the warm weather continuing well into next week. With this in mind, we've been scouring the web to find a selection of fans ideal for beating the heat this summer and beyond. There's deals and devices from Amazon, Shark, Dyson and more, with prices to suit a range of budgets. There's a choice of bladeless, standing and desktop fans, as well as one model allowing shoppers to keep comfortable both indoors and outdoors. So read on for a selection of our favourite cooling fans to help beat the heat. Shark FlexBreeze Pro Mist – £219 (was £249.99) Amazon has just reduced the Shark FlexBreeze Pro Mist to its cheapest price ever, beating Shark 's own £219.99 price tag. Serving as a standing or desk fan, this model has five fan speeds and two SmartBreeze modes said to simulate natural wind patterns. But what sets it apart from its rival is the MistPro feature, which uses chilled water to spray a light, cool mist outdoors that Shark says can lower temperatures by up to 6°C. Of the FlexBreeze, one five-star review says: 'A good, powerful fan providing a lovely breeze to keep things cool in the conservatory when the sun is out. 'The water mist is strictly for outdoors as the spray does generate quite a lot of large droplets that gather on the base plate and will also moisten any items nearby. The mist is perfect for those summer barbecues, keeping the chef nice and cool.' However, the same buyer added: 'Only drawbacks would have been nice to have more angle on the oscillation and the ability to adjust the height and not just the angle of the fan.' Amazon has also reduced the price of the Shark FlexBreeze TableMate (£99) and the Shark FlexBreeze HydroGo (£99.99). JYMIPA Standing Fan – £109.99 The JYMIPA Standing Fan from Amazon has yet to receive a single mixed or negative review, with its lowest rating being four stars. It's said to be 'whisper quiet' and can deliver 'powerful' wind speeds of 21 ft/s that can reach up to 29 feet, enabling it to cool even larger spaces with its 90° horizontal oscillation and 80° vertical tilt. One user says: 'Just right for keeping the bedroom comfy without noise getting in the way. It's quiet even on higher speeds so it won't disturb sleep or focus. The airflow reaches nicely across the room, which feels surprisingly refreshing. A solid fan that stays cool and calm.' The fan's only four-star review says: 'Wish the height adjustment was telescopic instead of the cheap plastic pipes that have to be unscrewed. The mains lead could do with being longer.' Dyson Cool AM07 Tower Fan – £269.99 (was £349.99) Those looking to push the boat out can save £80 on the Dyson Cool AM07 Tower Fan, which is designed to cool larger spaces. It boasts 'powerful', long-range air projection and Dyson's Air Multiplier technology, which combines principles used in turbochargers and jet engines to amplify airflow up to 15 times. With this, the bladeless fan can project up to 500 litres of air per second, with its remote control offering total control of its 10 airflow settings. One five-star review says: 'Wish we had bought it sooner. Cool air and cool design. Very easy to assemble, three pieces just click together.' But this more mixed review says: 'The fan is very powerful, however, the LED light is too bright. I bought it for my bedroom and it lights the whole room up at night.' Dyson Cool AM07 Tower Fan – BUY HERE Honeywell TurboForce Power Fan – £23.19 (was £32.49) The Honeywell TurboForce Power Fan is currently the best-selling fan on Amazon, with more than 5,000 sold in the past month. With three speed settings and a 90° oscillating head, this compact fan is ideal for use on a table or desk, allowing users to stay comfortable while they work. It's designed to cool small to medium rooms and also comes with a handy wall mount. One five-star review says: 'This fan has been a lifesaver during warmer days and is surprisingly powerful for its size. It gives off a strong, steady breeze and really helps cool down the room quickly. 'I love that it's compact enough to fit on a table or shelf, but still has the power of a much larger fan. It's also not too noisy, which makes it perfect for using in the bedroom or while working.' It may not suit everyone though, as this buyer says: 'It's effective enough if you're one person sitting in one place but there's no oscillation so it's no good if you want to use it with others. Not as quiet as I'd expected either.' Dunelm Floor Fan – £50 This 16' Floor Fan from Dunelm has a 'powerful' 100W motor that makes it ideal for cooling larger spaces. It has three speed settings and an adjustable tilting head, with buyers describing it as 'robust and effective'. There's also a slightly larger 18' model for £65, but of the 16' model, one reviewer said: 'Great fan with plenty of power behind it. Great for keeping us cool on hot days.' Another said: 'Extremely happy with my robust and effective fan, would most definitely buy again.' However, this buyer said: 'It's very powerful even on the lowest setting. It is loud though. Sounds more like an aeroplane than a fan. Wouldn't recommend if it's for the bedroom at night.'

Exact number of croissants Brits will eat in a lifetime as price row erupts
A study of 2,000 adults found they treat themselves to two of the flaky pastries each month A survey of 2,000 adults has revealed that most adults indulge in the buttery pastries each month, at least twice a month. The study suggests that this equates to Brits consuming a staggering 1,771 croissants over their lifetime. However, despite their fondness for the pastry, three out of 10 believe they shouldn't cost more than £1. Currently, some high street bakeries are charging as much as £2.80 for a single croissant. In a cheeky response, Asda has commissioned an oversized croissant, five times larger than the standard size, to highlight the price disparity between different retailers. The supermarket's own single serve bakery snack is priced at a mere 53p, compared to £3 for a similar product at other outlets. An Asda spokesperson shared: "We had so much fun creating this giant croissant." "We want to make sure the tasty French snack is accessible to all and will now be selling single-serve croissants in our new bakery counter for five times less than some other bakery chains," they added. "The price of such a simple item has risen considerably in recent years, and so we wanted to raise awareness off this using non-other than a giant version." It comes after research revealed that 37 per cent prefer to purchase their croissants from the supermarket, either pre-packaged or from the bakery counter. Additionally, 17 per cent believe they would struggle to distinguish between a supermarket-made croissant and a handmade artisanal one. Over half said it was crucial that a croissant is authentically French, crafted using traditional Gallic techniques and ingredients. The Asda spokesperson added: "There's something undeniably comforting about a croissant - that perfect balance of crisp, flaky pastry and soft, buttery layers inside. "Over the years, croissants have transitioned from being a continental treat to a firm favourite in British households and cafés, and it's easy to see why. They bring a touch of indulgence to even the simplest of mornings. "In the UK, we've wholeheartedly embraced the croissant, not just as a breakfast staple, but as a versatile snack throughout the day. "But the prices have gone sky high in a number of our high street chains. We believe customers should be paying a fair price."
