New Moray movie location revealed as preparations continue ahead of 'The Odyssey' filming
Another film set has appeared in Moray following reports that Hollywood blockbuster The Odyssey is to begin shooting in the area.
Preparations for filming are currently taking place at a Moray woodland that suffered a major wildfire last month.
Pictures show tents, trailers and specialist movie set toilets have been set up at Culbin Forest near Forres.
It comes after The Press and Journal revealed images showing the construction of a set near Findlater Castle.
It is now understood that crews are preparing the area at Culbin for part of the production, which is due to be released in July 2026.
The area recently made headlines after firefighters fought a wildfire at the site for days to get it under control.
Several hundred cast and crew are expected to travel to the area for filming.
Notices within the car park state that there will be no public access to the Buckie Loch area between June 2 and July 25.
The car park will also be closed from July 3 until July 16.
Filming for the movie, which will star the likes of Matt Damon, Anne Hathaway, Tom Holland, Robert Pattinson, Charlize Theron and Zendaya, started in Morocco earlier this year.
Greece and the Italian island of Sicily have also been used as filming locations.
Findlater Castle, which is located between Portsoy and Cullen, is currently off-limits to visitors between May 27 and July 25 due to 'private commercial activity', is expected to also feature in the movie.
The Odyssey is predicted to be the most expensive film of Nolan's illustrious career, which includes the hit movie Oppenheimer.
Although partly filmed in Scotland, the film dramatizes the journey of the ancient Greek king of Ithaca back home to his wife following the Trojan War that took place around the 12th or 13th Century.

While collecting shells might appear like a harmless beach activity, in Sardinia, it could cost you over £2,500. Local law prohibits taking shells or pebbles from any beach on the island in a bid to protect the area's ecosystem and prevent the beaches from eroding. Studies suggest removing shells from a seashore could impact an area's ecosystem as many animals live inside the husks. Collectively they attempted to swipe 220lb (100kg) of beach items in separate incidents. Locals grew fed up with tourists trying to take a piece of the beach home with them - and then attempting to flog it for a profit. There is even a dedicated Facebook page - called "Sardinia robbed and plundered" - to highlight the problem, which has amassed 37,722 followers. Visitors have been caught at airport and harbour customs checks, while police and the military have also been monitoring websites for unlawful sales. Spanish Beaches Close Due to Dangerous Sea Creature Cops reported dozens of illicitly advertised beach items - some with "high prices". Islanders warned the issue is creating an environmental emergency. Pierluigi Cocco, an environmental scientist and resident of the Sardinian capital Cagliari, told the BBC that the beaches were "the main reason why tourists are attracted to the island of Sardinia". He said that although taking sand home served as a reminder of a "treasured memory", it could contribute to the reduction of beaches in the future. In 2019, a French couple were caught with 40kg of sand in the boot of their car. Police found the sand crammed into 14 plastic bottles taken from a beach in Chia, southern Sardinia. The couple claimed they wanted to take it home as a "souvenir" and did not know they had committed an offence.

It's a must-visit, although be aware it doesn't come cheap – cocktails start at around £15, while the cheapest glass of wine will set you back a tenner. The menu features fruit-forward brambles; Kumquat Old Fashioned; and a Calamansi Margarita with a spiced ancho chili rim. As the sun sets, live DJ sets on Friday and Saturday nights set the mood, making 1864 the ultimate spot for an elevated rooftop experience in the heart of London.
