A Japanese horror film dubbed 'unnerving' and 'sinister' is now available to stream on the scariest streaming service out there.
Best Wishes to All, directed by Yûta Shimotsu, follows a nursing student (Kotone Furukawa) who visits her grandparents (Masashi Arifuku and Yoshiko Inuyama) in their rural Japanese town.
She appears distressed to learn her parents' arrival at the home is delayed, leaving her alone with her elderly relatives.
As the visit winds on, the young woman uncovers dark secrets that seem to point to a mysterious presence lurking in the house.
Best Wishes to All boasts a 75% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and you can witness the eerie spectacle for yourself from the, uh, relative comfort of your own home.
The film is now streaming on Shudder via Amazon Prime Video, which specialises in horror films from across the globe, both big releases and indie gems.
Rolling Stone had high praise for the film in their review, writing: 'It is, hands down, the best Japanese horror movie in decades, and quite possibly the single best horror movie you'll see this year, period.'
IGN Movies said: 'Brimming with misanthropy and feel-bad vibes, the social commentary doesn't sustain the film for its full runtime. Director Yûta Shimotsu's command of uncanny atmospherics only takes him so far — even if it is, admittedly, pretty far.'
Variety added: 'The thinly veiled commentary on aspects of modern Japanese society may fly over offshore viewers' heads streaming on Shudder, but genre fans will appreciate the bizarre story's sinister, twisty progress.'
'The type of unsettling, high-concept horror film that knows exactly what it wants to be and executes it with unforgiving verve,' RogerEbert.com concluded.
There are two ways you can kickstart your Shudder subscription – either directly through Shudder or Amazon Prime Video.
With the latter, it means Shudder is added as a channel to your Amazon Prime Video account, and you can access its content through there.
To do this, you need to have an active Amazon Prime membership and search for the channel on there.
Whether you subscribe directly or through Amazon Prime Video, you can enjoy a seven-day free trial of the service.
After this, Shudder costs £4.99 per month and can be cancelled at any time.
You can also subscribe to Shudder annually, which costs £47.88. This works out at £3.99 per month, saving you £12 a year overall.
Best Wishes to All is the feature debut of director Shimotsu, who explained the themes and enduring popularity of Japanese horror films in an interview with Asian Movie Pulse.
'Well, in Ju-on or Ring it is more about ghosts, whereas US horror films, for example, rely more on jump scares,' he said.
'Japanese horror is much more subtle and works with atmosphere, with the actual 'scare' often happening in the background even.
'The audience gets the feeling there is some kind of presence, but you cannot figure out where the danger might be coming from. This is real dread, and what makes J-horror so unique in my opinion.'
He shared that Ju-On director Takashi Shimizu had offered him some advice when making Best Wishes to All, adding: 'When he saw the film for the first time, he remarked I should explain things a bit more or at least give the audience some subtle hints, for example, through editing or music.'
Best Wishes to All is streaming now on Shudder via Prime Video .

Claudia Winkleman 'eternally grateful' after undergoing surgery
Claudia Winkleman has undergone eye surgery, she has revealed. The Traitors host, 53, has taken to social media to thank her eye surgeon for operating on her today. 'This amazing human makes me see. He's operated on my eyes before and he did it again today,' she said on Instagram, alongside a picture of her next to Dr Julian Stevens. 'No eyeliner for weeks and I sleep in googles (no words) but I'm eternally grateful,' she added. 'Do NOT zoom in on my left eye – it's wonky. Thank you Julian. I paid for the treatment, this isn't an ad. I just love him. It's very possible I'm still a bit sedated. Night night.' The Strictly presenter's comments section was flooded with support from well-wishers, as follower Suzanne Robinson said: 'Get well soon.' 'Love you !! Hope you feel better. Amazing man,' said ava_xoox while gurcharan_davany added: 'Speedy recovery eyeliner queen.' While it's not clear why Claudia underwent the surgery this time, she's previously been open about suffering with severe short-sightedness, which means she can't see objects far away. Speaking on the How To Fail podcast in 2023 about how she doesn't take too much notice of her appearance, Claudia explained: 'I was born, I think with minus 15 [eyes], so I've never really been able to see my face. It's all guesswork.' Claudia – who is known for her iconic long fringe – went on to say she's had operations because she was 'banging into walls' and she now wears lenses and glasses. However, despite laser eye surgery at Moorfields Eye Hospital, Claudia found her vision was still blurry. To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video She added: 'I've always had terrible eyesight, which is going back to the blurriness of the paintings I like, and the blurriness of how I'd really like life to be, which is no overhead lights – 17th century is where I would have absolutely smashed it.' Finding lightness in her eye issues – and acknowledging her trademark black eyeliner – Claudia said: 'Often when the kids have been playing with my phone with the camera switched round and I have to call somebody or I'm making a call, I'm like 'I don't understand why Ozzy Osbourne..I didn't even invite him round', and then I'm like, 'Ah, it's me.' More Trending Earlier this year, Claudia also touched on her condition on Gabby Logan's The Mid Point podcast. 'I've had so many operations on my eyes. I had a lens replacement in my left eye because my astigmatism was so bad I was minus 16, but that was 14 years ago,' she said. Claudia explained how she then became long-sighted: 'Then I had a little fiddle with but because I was so short sighted by then fixing it I'm now long sighted so I can't really read any more. 'I can with glasses, I've got plus 2.5 but I can't read The Bee Sting with those glasses and that light.' Got a story? Clarkson's Farm star Harriet Cowan shares loved-up snaps with doting partner
Clarkson's Farm star Harriet Cowan took to her TikTok page to share a sweet post about her partner, James Booth, as she 'hopes to get this life with him forever' Clarkson's Farm star Harriet Cowan took to her TikTok page to share a before-and-after picture of her and her long-term partner. The star, who is a new addition to the Amazon Prime Video programme, posted a selfie of her and her partner James Booth in 2018, as well as one of them now. In the 2025 picture, she leaned back on James as they soaked in a jacuzzi. "From party teenagers in 2018, to mid to late 20s in 2025 and like to be in bed before 10. I hope I get to this life with you forever," she captioned the wholesome post, which gained almost 10,000 likes. Fans took to the comment section to share their support for the happy couple, with one user writing: "Wishing you both eternal happiness," and another adding: "You two are so cute." One fan posted: "Wishing you the best." Joining the latest series, Harriet has been a major help to ex-Top Gear host Jeremy Clarkson at Diddly Squat Farm, particularly when fan-favourite Kaleb Cooper headed off to work on various projects across the UK. Viewers have been cheering for nurse turned farm worker, marvelling at her passion for rural living and ambition to demonstrate that 'girly girls' like her can handle tractors and livestock as competently as her male counterparts. Nevertheless, her time on the programme was short-lived because of Kaleb's return, which left her newfound fans yearning for more. Thankfully, the star shares online videos to let followers stay tuned into her daily adventures, drawing in millions of views. Harriet and her partner James first met when they were both at a Young Farmers' Meeting all those years ago. In a recent post shared on social media, Harriet posted a video of James driving a tractor, hinting that he is four years her senior. In another post, she said: "The 'butterfly effect' is crazy because if I didn't join Young Farmers, we'd never have met." The star continued: "YFC gave me my whole life and for that I will be forever grateful!" Harriet also urged others to consider joining community groups, promising they will "meet the greatest people". Meanwhile, in the show, once Kaleb returned to Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire, Harriet said an emotional goodbye to Jeremy. The presenter, who was on Top Gear for 25 years across two stints, told Harriet: "You saved my life. So, if we get stuck again, can we give you a call?"
