Feyenoord are currently preparing a bid for Diarra, which will be submitted to his club in a few hours. The attacker is under contract with Istanbulspor until the summer of 2029.
According to 1908: 'Feyenoord knows that Diarra is charmed by the first approaches towards and for the player. The club expects to be able to pick him up for an affordable price. Diarra has only just broken through in professional football, after initially studying in Istanbul. In Rotterdam, Diarra can calmly continue to adapt and initially focus on a place as a rotation player.'

Liverpool agree deal for Bournemouth's Kerkez: reports
Liverpool have agreed to sign Bournemouth left-back Milos Kerkez in a deal worth a reported £40 million ($54 million), according to reports on Friday. Kerkez is due to travel to Merseyside for a medical before completing his move to the Premier League champions. Advertisement The 21-year-old caught Liverpool's eye last season with his fine form for Bournemouth, including two goals and five assists in 38 Premier League appearances. Liverpool sporting director Richard Hughes brought Kerkez to Bournemouth from AZ Alkmaar during his time at the Vitality Stadium. Serbia-born Kerkez began his career at Hungarian outfit Gyor before moving to AC Milan, where he failed to make an appearance for the Serie A club. He joined Dutch side AZ Alkmaar in 2022, arriving in the Premier League with Bournemouth a year later. Kerkez's impending arrival at Anfield raises questions about the future of Liverpool left-back Andrew Robertson, who has been linked with Atletico Madrid. Advertisement Kerkez will become Liverpool's latest signing in a busy summer transfer window for boss Arne Slot. The Reds have already secured the signature of Netherlands right-back Jeremie Frimpong from Bayer Leverkusen to replace Trent Alexander-Arnold, who has joined Real Madrid. Liverpool are also on the verge of signing Leverkusen's Germany playmaker Florian Wirtz after reportedly agreeing a fee that could rise to a British record £116 million. Wirtz is believed to have undergone a medical with Liverpool on Friday ahead of the official confirmation of his transfer. smg/nr

Mets Facing Clay Holmes Decision After Sixth Straight Loss
Mets Facing Clay Holmes Decision After Sixth Straight Loss originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The New York Mets are amid their worst stretch of the 2025 MLB season. Dropping their sixth straight game on Thursday night, a 7-1 loss to the Atlanta Braves, the Mets no longer have sole possession of first place in the NL East. Advertisement New York's starting pitcher Clay Holmes struggled mightily on Thursday, walking a season-high six batters in 4.2 innings of work. Now tied atop their division with the Philadelphia Phillies, the Mets are entering a critical series against Philly this weekend. New York not only brings a six-game losing streak into the series with Philadelphia, but significant pitching staff questions as well. New York Mets starting pitcher Clay Holmes (35)© Sam Navarro-Imagn Images Mets manager Carlos Mendoza would not reveal Friday's starter when speaking with reporters postgame, but it was later reported by Anthony DiComo of that Blade Tidwell will be getting the ball. However, Friday's starter is not the only pitching question New York faces. Advertisement Holmes, who is in his first season as a full-time starting pitcher, has already surpassed a career-high in innings pitched for a season. While it's unclear if his six walks on Thursday were a product of that, Mendoza admitted postgame the team is keeping a close eye on Holmes' workload. As Mendoza alluded to, the Mets currently face a decision on how to best manage the 32-year-old right-hander. Prior to this season, Holmes' career-high in innings pitched was 70 in 2021. He is now at 83 through 15 starts, and there are still more than four months remaining before the postseason begins. MLB Reacts to Juan Soto Announcement on Thursday
MLB Reacts to Juan Soto Announcement on Thursday originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The New York Mets entered Thursday night with a 45–29 record, sitting atop the NL East. However, they're currently riding a five-game losing streak, with their last two defeats coming against division rival Atlanta Braves. Advertisement Despite the skid, Mets superstar Juan Soto has started to find his rhythm following a slow start to the season. Over his last 11 games, he's recorded five multi-hit performances, three home runs, six RBIs, and 12 runs scored—while continuing to post an elite walk rate that has helped him consistently reach base. On Thursday night, Soto added to his hot stretch with a hit in his first at-bat—and it was a milestone moment. The Mets and MLB announced that the hit was the 1,000th of his career, a feat achieved by just 1,346 players in MLB history. Even more impressive: Soto is still only 26 years old, with plenty of baseball ahead. MLB celebrated the moment on social media, posting, 'Congratulations to Juan Soto on collecting hit No. 1,000!' Soto is just the third player in MLB history—joining legends Mel Ott and Mickey Mantle—as the only players to record at least 1,000 hits, 200 home runs, and 700 walks before turning 27. Advertisement After beginning his career with the Washington Nationals—where he won a World Series in 2019—Soto had brief stints with the San Diego Padres and the New York Yankees. Yet, this past offseason, he made headlines by signing the largest contract in professional sports history: a 15-year, $765 million deal with the Mets. New York Mets right fielder Juan SotoSam Navarro-Imagn Images Through his first 74 games in blue and orange, Soto is batting .248—a mark that's shown recent improvement—while tallying 14 home runs, 37 RBIs, and posting an .849 OPS.
