Itikyala Mandal Chosen as Pilot for Bhu Bharati Land Reform Drive; Free Application Submission at Revenue Conferences

Gadwal: To address long-standing land disputes and streamline the resolution process, the Telangana state government has initiated a series of revenue conferences under the Bhu Bharati Act. Jogulamba Gadwal District Collector B.Y.M. Santosh announced that Itikyala Mandal has been selected as the pilot project area for this initiative.
Speaking at a Bhu Bharati Revenue Conference held in Gopal Dinne village of Itikyala Mandal on Monday, the Collector attended as the chief guest and personally received land-related grievance applications from farmers. He explained that similar conferences are being conducted across 28 districts in the state to resolve land issues efficiently.
Collector Santosh emphasized that, unlike in the past where people had to visit the Tahsildar, RDO, or Collector's offices for such issues, officials are now directly visiting the villages to collect and address grievances. He assured that the received applications would be carefully reviewed, verified, and eligible applicants would be issued appropriate orders.
Importantly, while application submission through Mee Seva centers typically involves a fee, all applications submitted at these revenue conferences are accepted completely free of cost. He urged all farmers to take full advantage of this opportunity. Officials will be available in the village from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and special help centers have been set up to assist with form filling and any related queries.
The Collector further assured that all applications will be thoroughly verified, and efforts will be made to resolve the issues within one month.
The event was also attended by Additional Collector Lakshmi Narayana, Itikyala Tahsildar Veerabhadrappa, Erravalli Tahsildar Naresh, MPDO Azhar Mohinuddin, local farmers, and other officials.

Bhu Bharati Act brings overhaul: Telangana sees 10 lakh grievances; 3.27 lakh registered online

HYDERABAD: Revenue minister Ponguleti SrinivasReddy on Saturday said the Congress govt is overhauling the revenue administration, which had deteriorated during the BRS's decade-long rule. He said that the Bhu Bharati Act, aimed at providing lasting solutions to long-pending land disputes in Telangana, is being implemented with seriousness and has already brought a positive shift in the system. At a review meeting with senior officials on the successful completion of revenue meets (sadassulu) across the state, the minister said over 10 lakh land-related applications were received across three phases. Between June 3 and 20, revenue meets were held in 10,239 villages across 561 mandals, during which eight lakh more applications were received. In all, 10,725 sadassulu were conducted in 593 mandals, with 8.58 lakh applications submitted. 'In the first phase, held from April 17 to 30, around 12,000 applications were submitted through 72 sadassulu across four mandals. In the second phase, which began on May 5, over 46,000 applications were collected through 414 meetings in 28 mandals. Over 60% of those issues have been resolved, excluding sadabainama cases,' he said. Sadabainama refers to a land transaction, where land ownership is recorded only on paper. Khammam district received the highest number of applications at 67,000, followed by Bhadradri Kothagudem (61,000), Warangal (54,000), Jayashankar Bhupalpally (48,000), and Nalgonda (42,000). The minister said free application forms were distributed a day prior in villages, and special teams were deployed under the supervision of tahsildars. So far, 3.27 lakh applications have been registered online, and officials have been instructed to expedite the remaining cases.

About 8.5 lakh applications received in Revenue Sadassus and 60% of them resolved: Minister Ponguleti

Revenue and Housing Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy said the Congress government was systematically cleansing the revenue system that was plagued by corruption and mismanagement during the decade-long BRS rule. Speaking at a review meeting with officials on Saturday, the Minister stated that the recently concluded State-wide revenue sessions have ushered in a new era of transparency in land administration. Stating that the outreach was extensive, the Minister revealed that 10,725 revenue sessions were conducted in three phases across 593 mandals, during which a total of 8.58 lakh applications related to land issues were received. In the first phase (April 17 to 30), 72 revenue sessions across 4 mandals were held and 12,000 applications were received. In Phase-2 (from May 5), 414 sessions across 28 mandals were held and 46,000 applications were received. In the last phase (June 3 to 20), 10,239 sessions were held across 561 mandals and 8 lakh applications were received. The highest applications were received in Khammam (67,000) followed by Bhadradri Kothagudem (61,000), Warangal (54,000), Jayashankar Bhupalapalli (48,000) and Nalgonda (42,000). The Minister noted that more than 60% of issues, excluding those involving title complexities, have already been resolved, reflecting the responsive nature of the new system introduced by the government. He said special efforts were made to make the process accessible and transparent. On the eve of each revenue conference, free application forms were distributed to farmers in villages. Special MRO-led teams received applications without collecting any fees and provided receipts on the spot. Out of the total received, 3.27 lakh applications have already been digitised and registered online. The Minister alleged that the revenue system, once destroyed and paralysed by political negligence, was now being rebuilt with the trust of the people.
