Kat Dennings Forgot She Was in the MCU, Shares Hilarious Story

Dennings plays Darcy Lewis in the MCU. The character made her official debut in 2011's Thor and then went on to appear in 2013's Thor: The Dark World, 2021's WandaVision, and 2022's Thor: Love and Thunder. Additionally, alternate universe variants of Darcy have appeared in the animated What If…? series.
On Instagram, Dennings shared a hilarious story about how she forgot that she was part of the MCU.
'I went to Avengers Campus at Disneyland and people were waving at me and I forgot why,' she said. 'I genuinely forgot why.'
Darcy Lewis is an original character who was created specifically for the MCU. She made her official Marvel Comics appearance in Steve Orlando and Sara Pichelli's Scarlet Witch series that launched in 2023.
Orlando said, via Polygon, at the time, 'This is the 616 version of this character, who brings the same type of perceptions to the book, but also fits right into what's going on with Scarlet Witch, with the magic side of the Marvel Universe. Darcy's there to lightly chide the absurdities we love of comic books, especially in a character like Thor. Wanda speaks casually about a life that is absurd and strange, and it's normal for her. But if you look at her family tree and the things she does, it can seem quite esoteric. Darcy essentially gives a voice to the audience in the same way that Kat Dennings' character does.'
There's been no word on whether or not Dennings will return for future Marvel Studios projects. Given that she's been in three Thor movies, it would stand to reason she could be part of a potential fifth film, though there's been no official announcement regarding Thor 5 at this time.

The problem with building an ever-expanding universe of superheroes and villains for them to battle is that the cast list can't stop growing, often leading to some stars getting placed in roles when they could've been better used elsewhere. For example, as great as Mads Mikkelsen was as Kaecillius in Doctor Strange, it feels like the world will always have been missing a perfect pick for Magneto, or even Doctor Doom, because he's just that cool to handle either role. Unfortunately, he and a few other big names have also suffered for their spot in the MCU, and fans have recently taken to Reddit to lament how much they never got to show their full potential. One Redditor highlighted Walton Goggins in Ant-Man and the Wasp and Kit Harington in Eternals, when he took the role of Black Knight-to-be, Dane Whitman. There was also the criminally underused Bill Skarsgård as Kro (don't worry, we struggled to remember his appearance, too), as well as Katy M. O'Brien and William Jackson Harper in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Another fan argued there was still hope for some, though, writing, "I think Bill Skarsgard gets a pass here. Marvel could absolutely use him again, and a lot of people honestly don't even know that was him. I also have faith that we haven't seen the last of Goggins." One fan continued to support Goggins' reprisal of his role as black market dealer Sonny Burch, saying, "It's a damn shame that we haven't seen Goggins' character return yet. And it's a bigger shame that we haven't seen Sam Rockwell return either. Such a waste." The good news is that at this point, actors have played multiple roles in the MCU, and thanks to the multiverse, characters have and will be played by various actors, so some of these names can return in a different form. We'll keep an eye out in the hope that there's some space for the likes of Goggins, Harington, and more as the MCU powers on. Marvel Studios is stretching into meme territory with its latest movie tie-in collectible. A new popcorn bucket for The Fantastic Four: First Steps has hit the internet, and it features none other than Pedro Pascal's Reed Richards aka Mr. Fantastic wrapped around the bucket. The container is gripped by Reed's outstretched, stretchy arm. It's a fun nod to his iconic powers and a rare bit of character-focused merch ahead of the movie's release. But of course, it didn't take long for the internet to... notice things. At just the right (or wrong?) angle, the elongated arm clinging to the bucket has prompted some spicy fan interpretations because, well, that's the internet. This is part of a growing line of First Steps tie-in buckets following the giant Galactus one. Thankfully, this Reed Richards version will only run you $39.99, not pocket change, but also not Galactus-sized debt. While the popcorn bucket is stirring conversation online, Pedro Pascal recently spoke to Empire about what drew him to the role of Marvel's most elastic intellectual. 'I see a limitless amount of layers to this character. He does the ultimate version of catastrophising. A brain that has an overview of threats on a mathematical level, but also being emotionally available. It was a fascinating contradiction.' The marketing machine is clearly warming up. Early tracking puts First Steps on pace for a $125 million to $155 million opening, which would be a much-needed win for the MCU. Chinese company Netease is making an AAA action-adventure game called 'Blood Message'
NetEase, the Chinese video game company that published Marvel Rivals and Bungie's Destiny: Rising , has announced its first single-player AAA game. It's a story-driven third-person action-adventure game called Blood Message , and as Polygon notes, it's in the vein of Uncharted and Assassin's Creed. The story is set in the final years of the Tang Dynasty, which ruled imperial China from 618 to 907. In Blood Message , players take control of a nameless messenger and his son "to deliver a message that holds the fate of their war-torn homeland." Players will have to journey through desolate deserts and the vast wilderness of East and Central Asia. The trailer shows the messenger and his son fighting enemies in the desert, surviving avalanches, working with mysterious characters and discovering ancient artifacts. It also shows the game's cinematic cutscenes, stealth and survival mechanics, as well as the landscapes players can expect to see. "We are ushering players into a new generation of high adventure with Blood Message," said Zhipeng Hu, the Lead Producer and NetEase Executive Vice President. "As our first completely single-player focused experience from NetEase Games, after two decades of deep dedication to the gaming industry, we are prepared to deliver a truly epic and cinematic experience for players around the world." NetEase has yet to announce a release date, but Blood Message will be available for consoles and the PC. The game's announcement shows that Chinese developers are increasingly making more inroads into the AAA space. Black Myth: Wukong , which is widely considered as the first AAA game from China, was originally released last year and will be available on the Xbox in August.
